After a rough day of medical appointments, sad news and 10 hours away from home on March 26, 2026, we stopped in for an early dinner. Oh my word! The waiter (sorry, I cannot remember his name) was an absolute rock star at his attendance to us and Chef Jon was such a delight! They both chatted with us, took their time, let us relax and unwind. For some reason, this place is LOUD regardless if I'm there at noon or at 9 pm. They have a few gluten-free items on the menu. Whenever I tell the wait staff I have Celiac Disease, a manager always comes to discuss my meal, which I appreciate. I really enjoy their Blackened Chicken Sandwich on a gluten-free Care Bakery bun. I prefer my chicken naked, which is an option listed on the menu. Beware, though, they have paper straws, which you can skip unless you order a slushie drink like a Bellini. read more

Moxies used to be a favorite of mine and Ambers, but a bad experience at a location in Calgary cooled us on the chain. This was the first Moxies we had been to I years and all in all it was pretty good. We each had an old favorite. Amber had the beef dip and asked them to take off the o ions and cheese "It's not supposed to be a cheese steak" she said it was good but not as good as where she used to work. I had the beef vindaloo. Also good, but not as spicy as I remember it. But I might just be more used to spices than I used to be as the waiter made a point to warn it was spicy. Came to this Moxie's last month with a coworker for Happy Hour en route to a library y'all with Mindhunter Author, John Douglas. Our server was fantastic and got our bites and bills to us quickly when I let her know we had about a 45 minute window to dine and dash. Absolutely loved the bar here - loads of seating options with plenty of space. The $4 happy hour fish tacos were delicious and smartly served over a foil sheet as they will make a mess - maybe not a first date food ;-) The Tuna Poke at $9 also really hit the spot. Our fave drink was the $5.50 mason jar hard lemonade. The wings were so-so (not nearly as good as Central Social wings). I was surprised to find the washroom in disarray and quite dirty given the early time of day before supper. Overall a solid 4 stars. read more

I've been to this moxie's a few times. The main reason for me to go here is for the patio. The patio is gorgeous, big tables, with plenty of space between, there is open-air in 3 directions so one can pretty much always expect a cross-breeze. Even if one is sitting in direct sun, there's a breeze. The chairs are fabricy not leathery so one doesn't get stuck to the chair in hot weather. Theres lots of parking. I would concur with other Yelp reviews that the food takes awhile, there seems to be longish delays between bringing water, taking drink order, taking food order etc... Most recently we were there for after work appies and beverages. The beverage menu and specials are good. We had 2 sushi appies. Both were tasty, I would note that the one came with literally the tiniest helpings of wasabi and ginger that I have ever seen and while cute in appearance, i actually like to eat the ginger so I did miss it. read more

I came here the other night for the happy hour menu which is from 9pm until closing. My partner and I shared ribs, sweet potato fries, and bruschetta, all or which were delicious. We also had some hard lemonade which were very yummy. The decor inside of the restaurant is tasteful and has a nice atmosphere. Even though the restaurant was busy, it was not too loud. The service left something to be desired, as we saw our waitress three times in the whole night. She took our drink orders, brought a happy hour menu, and someone else finally came and took our orders nearly half an hour later. As a discretion, I normally do not like to support chain restaurants. I much rather go to a family owned business. Not only do I think that usually family run restaurants do food better, but I also want to support local business and not some corporation. However, I do make some allowances. The other acceptation I make is older relatives and buffets. I love my relatives more than I can't stand the lukewarm trays that have mediocre food. I will eat that bland chicken drumstick for my 80 year old mother. So these things to me that I file in the I can always eat after this event portion of my brain. So when a someone pickier friend of mine suggested Moxies for a girls get together I went for it. First of all, it helped that we went on Wine Wednesday. Bottles were half off which is super reasonable especially if you are splitting between one or two people. I am not sure if they are able to recork the wine, but even if you are dining and drinking alone, this is a great way of trying wine. We split a few appies - Korean fried cauliflower - spicy gochujang pepper sauce, jalapeno lime dip, biryani chicken wings, and mosaic dip - goat cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, warm grilled pita, fresh white corn chips. Actually generally speaking pretty decent appies. My favourite was the Korean Fried Cauliflower. It was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and you could choose the combination of dip to spice it how you like. Definitely I would order this again. My friends like the biryani chicken wings a lot. I felt they were okay but actually having biryani in East Indian restaurants, nothing like the actual flavour. Too much sweetness to them. The mosaic dip was fine too. The mushrooms paired well with the red wine I was drinking, but lacked any overall flavour. Atmosphere was okay. I found that it reminded me of a movie that was trying to be trendy. However it was not too loud and so we could have a great conversation and lots of laughs without too much interruptions. Which brings me to service. Lukewarm at best. Not super attentive. This isn't my first choice ever, but if you want to make compromises try here. After a mall trip with a couple of kids we were ready to eat. Rather than the food court we decided on the closest sit down restaurant. While I feel like this should be one star, I'm giving it two because the server was extremely kind and did her best to redeem the situation. Overall, they seem extremely under stocked and unprepared. They were out of: the type of beer we ordered, out of clean spoons, out of soap in the washroom. When it came to the food, my daughter ordered Alfredo with no chicken and it came with chicken. A steak we ordered was raw. Don't get me wrong, I love a good medium rare but this bad boy was mooing. The food that did arrive all tasted great overall but it was one of those things where I left questioning why I settled for going to Moxie's anyway. If I ever go back it would likely be to try to poach the server with excellent customer service skills to work with me. read more

Totally done with this establishment and its business as usual attitude. I guess in todays market the impression of caring is more important than actual customer satisfaction. I'm giving this restaurant a 3 star review because I feel some areas need improvement. First off, new design is sleek and modern. Restaurant is still somewhat cozy with the fireplace. Just don't sit next to the fireplace in the summer time - it gets very warm. The food is still good. I really like the Avocado and Egg salad. My friend and I also enjoyed the Bellini's. Only downfall is service can be slow. During the meal it was fine. But we waited at least 15-20 minutes for the cheque. We weren't in a hurry so it was fine. But we tried flagging down the waiter several times. We were there on Friday so perhaps it was busier than what we're used to. Overall, a positive experience. Headed out for lunch with a group of five adults. We were seated promptly and the dining room wasn't overly busy from what we could see. Our server came by right away and took our drink orders. She was pleasant for the most part. Drinks often went without a refill for a good amount of time. We placed our orders, I had the fish tacos and my partner had the lunch combo with a half beef dip and broccoli and cheese soup. The rest of our group ordered the turkey club, a beef vindaloo, and a steak sandwich. Then the wait began, we waited, and we waited, and we waited. In fact, we waited nearly forty minutes for our food. Then, after all that time, most of the food was served either cold or lukewarm and there were missing elements from some dishes. When we mentioned the wait to one of the food runners, she stated, well as your server said, the lounge got a sudden rush. It wasn't her words, but her tone, and her lack of concern that were the problem with that statement. My fish tacos were sub par at best, it was a dish that lacked any sort of imagination. The fish was under seasoned there was absolutely no kick to it. Later, when my server asked how our food was, I found out that they had forgotten the hot sauce, a key element of my dish. Overall, my partner had no complaints about the taste of the food, other then that temperature. Our server gave us a free dessert for the lackluster fish tacos and so we ordered the white chocolate brownie. Which we shouldn't have done, because it took over twenty minutes to come out. All in all, we spent more time waiting for our food than enjoying it. Finally, the bill arrived. At the outset, our server had offered us a garlic chive dip as an alternative to ketchup for our fries. I was a little disappointed when I found out that they had taken their basil mayo off the menu and she told me I would enjoy their new dip. What she failed to mention was that each portion of said dip would be an additional $1.50. Honestly, that dip made me feel like I needed to shower in Listerine, because the garlic was overpowering. I could still taste the garlic after I had finished dessert and a full glass of water. Additionally, rather than ringing in a side of yam fries, our server rang in an appetizer size which was $9.00. After all that, we finally got our bill. The dinner had been sub par and the manager, despite several issues, never came to our table. While the bill was being paid, my father in-law reiterated some of the issues again and our server was not pleasant about it. Her words were fine but her facial expressions and her tone made it seem like she was done with us. She also wasn't happy with her tip, which was evident from the her reaction when the debit receipt printed. Moxies is one of the most over priced chains out there. Their food isn't great and their servers need some work. I'd skip them and head for Joeys or Boston Pizza instead. read more

After a few hours in Kingsway Mall trying so hard to finish my Christmas shopping I realised I was hangry and needed dinner pronto. Luckily, Moxie's is on hand for these desperate situations. I got a bellini as a 'well done' to myself for even attempting Christmas shopping in November (go me)! It was the slushy, sugary goodness I wanted, super sweet with a chewy candy frog on the top! Yum. To eat, I ordered the Prawn Linguini. The prawns throughout were large and juicy and it also had half a lobster tail too. Lots of cherry tomatoes for some fresh bursts but what was missing was parmesan. I wished the server had offered parmesan or black pepper. I still ate it all - I was staving. I had my daughter with me and she had the chicken strips and veggies with dips. She loved the ranch dip and stole a lot of my pasta too! The kids menu actually has quite a few nice options. The server was nice but the food took it's time coming out and the crayon's were losing the appeal of my two year old. Still need to finish my Christmas shopping. read more

Been to this moxies quite a few times and the service has always been pretty good. Menu had a wide variety of your normal fancier versions of burgers. I always come here after doing some shopping at Kingsway mall. Never seen the place super busy and waitresses seem to be pretty chilled out. I ordered the chipotle mango chicken, and really enjoyed it. Although I thought the seasonal veggies looked a little sad, would have liked a bit more veggies on my dish. read more

Every time I go to this Moxie's there's an issue with the service. The food is consistently good but the service is total crap. I went with my co-workers a couple of weeks ago and our Server, Jessica, was terrible. They sat us in this really awkward U Shaped booth for 7 people and then the server stood right beside me and took everyone's order and kept forgetting mine. When she took our Drink order I spoke up as she walked away without taking mine and said "I'll have a pepsi please" and she snarkily replied with "Um, I KNOW". I said "oh, okay because you didn't take my order, so I'm not sure how" and she said "um YES I DID" again very rudely like I was stupid. Then she looked at her paper and noticed that she had in fact NOT taken my order, and said "oh well I just KNEW" and flounced off. This standard of service continued throughout our visit. It was really bad. I hate going to that Moxie's so much, but it's so close to work, typically that's one of the only options we have if we're in a larger group. read more

I never write reviews because I am in the industry and understand mishaps, and things that are out of the servers control, but tonight really upset me. Went out for a belated birthday dinner and decided to give this patio a try because we have been here before and know how cute the patio is. First of all, I want to say to whichever female manager was working this night, she seemed to be the only one concerned about anything going on, so good on her. But I felt like more could have been done to deal with things we noticed. There were a group of 4-5 people constantly in and out of the restaurant, with and without masks, loud and disruptive, and smoking right next to the patio. I saw the female manager I just referred to go out and talk to them and Im assuming thats what for but I don't know. As someone who doesn't smoke I get bad headaches from the smell so that was a little annoying and maybe should be addressed as making a designated smoking area. This table also brought in a joiner, who appeared to be a random person off the street, as he was on a bike and seemed homeless?, which made my friend and I very uncomfortable and worrisome of our purses and items and doesn't seem like something that should be allowed. At certain points in the evening we saw our server go and sit with a group of people at the other end of the patio. Now I understand having "regulars" or inviting your friends to your work, or becoming very friendly with your tables. but as it is Covid, its unacceptable to be sitting at the table with your guests when you are a server! And on shift. I am not allowed to do this even after my shift at my work, even with my own coworkers. Its just not okay. I also would add that talking about your other tables, to your tables is not appropriate. Im there to enjoy my time, not have my server blame not bringing cutlery, or being slower, or whichever, on their other guests they are serving. If you need help or to complain about your tables, talk to your manager. Made us feel awkward and like we were an inconvenience. One of the odd disruptive men also then followed us out of the restaurant making us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Will say the server was very kind, and brought us everything we wanted, nothing against him. I think for future your staff needs to be more observant and aware of what is going on. We won't be returning as the whole experience had us feeling anxious and leaving quickly without the white chocate brownie and baileys and coffee we had wanted. read more

I arrived here at noon and got seated right away! There is a good amount of people here but it isn't noisy so if you are here with a friend (or a few) you don't have to be leaning over the table or raising your voice to hear each other. Even as the dinning rooms fills up, the noise level isn't too loud. The busser is constantly on her feet clearing tables and grabbing empty dishes/cups from the tables around me. Diane, my server was quick to greet me and grab my order, she seems very upbeat and friendly even as I sit here with my laptop out. I love the white peach bellini, it's only $5 sun-thusday (try it!). Med bread (with cheese) is really great to share or eat by yourself. Referring to Katie's review, if you are looking for gluten free options, they do have a separate menu for it so you have to ask for it. The regular menu has a few vegetarian options, I've only tried some of the appetizers (not that I was looking for vegetarian options). I've don't have vegan friends so I can't comment on that. I've been here multiple times with my friends (always in the lounge though or patio) and we've never had any issues with the service. Some servers may be more friendly than others but never have they been rude. I come to Moxies every so often and that won't be changing anytime soon. read more

I have just been to Moxies Polo Park location. Ordered a couple drinks and nachos, the nachos were not good, too many onions. Told the Waitress and the manager (I assume he was the restaurant manager) and asked us how the nachos are and we barely started so we didn't know how it would turn out. But as it turned out, the nachos were not good and our waitress never came back to ask how our meal was so we left there unhappy, unsatisfied and felt like we wasted our money. If there was an option for no stars I would pick it. My experience here was horrifying. I'm a celiac who is very aware of when I do get contaminated and how I feel. I try very hard to avoid it and I've rarely gotten it badly.I ordered what I usually ordered, Vindaloo and got it with Soy Protein. I was assured by the server and the manager that all was well and no gluten was in it. Later with my I went to see a movie with my friend. I began feeling very ill and queasy. My warning signs were all there so I went to sit down. Within minutes I had gotten sick in the middle of City Centre Mall. Thanks Moxies. I've never had it happen in front of everyone. So without being graphic and awful, let me say that the next hour was hell. It was so bad a security guard asked if I needed an ambulance. I felt like I did and I couldn't go anywhere because I could barely stand. I was weak, sweating, nauseous, and not only did my lunch not stay down nothing else would either. I had to cab to my apartment which cost me almost $30. This was my worst I have ever gotten sick as a celiac. I called them to let them know, and I am waiting to hear from the General Manager. I will not be back..to there or any other Moxies. I recommend any celiac to stay away. Far away. I'm pretty convinced City Centre wants me to stay away and I have Moxies to thank for that. read more

Made a reservation via their website early Friday morning December 7th. The reservation was for a party of seven. When we arrived were were seated at a table for six and told to "Squish in". Food arrived one hour after we were seated, I will be honest and say I am not sure if this is normal for a Friday night but it was not something we had expected. Food was great, no argument, but the service was slow and sporadic at best. When we asked for the bill we had to wait approximately fifteen minutes, at that point one of our party got up and hunted the server down to speed things up. My son, husband and I received gift cards at Christmas for Moxie's. It has been 3-4 years since we have been there and back then it was good food but not good for a 4 year old. Anyways, yesturday about 2:30pm we went in and the place was packed, we were seated near a table of 8 people, one of the ladies was incredibly loud. She was so loud that I know her financial situation, not good. The menu was a huge disappointment, what happened to regular types of food ? The food now has something strange splashed into it. We are simple ordinary people looking for simple foods. I wanted to leave. We found the simplest meals on the menu. My son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich (can't go wrong with that), my husband got the deluxe burger, and I got the clubhouse. My clubouse was plain and the tomato was mushy, but meal was OK. My husband burger was made from the cheapest meat patties you can find, looked like a veggie burger totally gross looking (Burger Kings is better than that), and finally to top off the meal, my poor 8 year old son started to pick at his sandwich, we ask why...there is a hair grilled to the bread. And it happened to look like a chest hair. I could not eat after that. We looked at the dessert menu, not bad but again nothing like apple pie, cheesecake, ice cream or chocolate brownies. I was hugely disappointed with the service at this location, I have been a fan of Moxies for years and after today's episode I will not return to this location. The waitress was rude and to top it off she was picking her ear with her finger as she was speaking to me. The food was distasteful, the cesar salad was another disappointment because the lettuce was absolutely swimming in dressing. My date also was very unhappy with the service after asking for water to drink the waitress brought one glass and after we requested a second glass she acted as if she had no energy at all and no will to get a glass of water. read more
