So, this has been my favorite Marriott brand for the past few years... Denver, Tempe and now Seattle! This location is the bomb diggity; been open for a few weeks and the first Moxy in the US built from the ground up. Regardless if you are traveling on business, vacation, stay-cation, this place is THE BEST! Nicest staff ever, fair price, the most FUN and sensory appealing atmosphere. Stayed two nights at Moxy with my boyfriend, and we had an amazing time! I was so impressed by the interior design and thoughtfulness of the layout of the hotel. Checking in at the bar was neat, as well as the style of the lobby and the rooms. The only little thing that I felt like was lacking was a mini fridge -- I was really hoping to save some leftovers from a dinner. Overall awesome experience with great prices and service! read more

I have been to the Moxy three times now and each and every time it is a wonderful bar experience. The vibe in the hotel/ bar is fantastic, it is a lodge small town like feel in the middle of a huge city. Granted parking is a pain but it is in the heart of Seattle surrounded by Amazon so for what they are facing, it is a great place. The service is friendly and the staff seem to really care. Kudos to Bekah in the front desk/bar, Jerry and Cheresa for making the Moxy a wonderful addition to SLU. For those who have not stayed here- the rooms are small and have only the basics- don't expect huge dressers,closets, ect that lets be honest you were never going to use anyways. The smaller rooms allow for a smaller price and less waste- it allows for a modern and enjoyable place to sleep and rest in the heart of a major city with the essentials of what you need for a nights sleep and none of the wasted money on things you don't. It is not a place for kids- if you look at the website this is no surprise so if you don't do your research and plan your vacation you really have nothing to complain about if you expect this to be a huge room catered to kids.... It is a place to sleep in the heart of a major city that is clean, welcoming and an affordable place- think Airbnb's.... Loved this place! Super cute /chic hotel in an awesome location right downtown! Walking distance to tons of Seattle hot spots. People have been complaining that the rooms are small... Yes they are a bit on the smaller size , but what do you really need to do in your hotel room other then sleep ? The beds were comfortable, the lobby is staffed with a bunch of fun games, and the hotel staff were super friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come into town! read more

I read these reviews, or at least a lot of them. Not sure why so many of the negative reviewers seem to complain about what the hotel clearly bills itself as not, but I guess people will be people. This place is great. I liked checking in at a bar. It was laid back, fun, and the offer of a free drink (and not just a well drink or some weird off label wine but the real good stuff) at check-in made a nice touch. Met Jerry (Gerry?), the GM. Intelligent guy; explained the Moxy-model, and noted that some people expect an experience that is not the one advertised. The rooms are not huge, there is no indoor tennis court, and High Tea is served at 2500 hours. Not. One thing I noted was that the hotel is very clean. Yeah, one can say this about every "new" hotel, but this place sparkled without feeling sterile. Another thing was all the staff people were friendly, helpful, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. I did not have one disgruntled-employee-of-the-month interaction. This is not your grand-parents' Marriott. Or Sheraton. Or Holiday Inn. Moxy is for the 21st Century, where the focus is placed on interacting in a cool place, around the bar and adjoining spaces. Moxy will get you off social media and get you into a conversation with the guy next to you, or get you playing a game with some new friends. Only complaint- we stayed here in nye weekend it's 35 degrees outside and the blankets are about as thin as a sheet.. there is heating in the room but you'll be cold if you don't move around a ton/bring a blanket/maybe they have more at the front desk? read more

The front desk staff was a bit rude and I didn't even complain to them about anything. The part that dragged things down was the room not being cleaned and I was there for a week. I stayed for one night, but will not stay here again. There was so much noise in the morning. I stayed in a room next to a laundry chute and housekeeping closet. Everytime housekeeping shut the door, the loud bang radiated throughout my room. Although I asked for late check out, housekeeping knocked, and woke me up twice. From inside of my room, I could hear every conversation had by housekeeping in the hallway. I also found it hard to wash my face in the bathroom sink. The lobby decorations are cool and I appreciate the complimentary drink at check in, but the noise in the morning was unbearable. read more

Extremely satisfied with my stay at the Moxy! It was in proximity of all the attractions (space needle, like market, etc). It was me and my bfs first time in Seattle, our flight landed super early around 8am, and we went to the hotel to leave our bags in the luggage storage. Although our check in time wasnt until 3pm, they actually had our room ready at 9am when we first arrived! They also gave us free drink tokens. The lobby/bar was so hip and offered many drinks and our room was very clean and had a nice view of the street and buildings. It was pretty small but it wasn't a problem, the bed was very comfortable and the TV even offered apps such as Netflix and YouTube. Overall, we were well accommodated for the 2 nights we stayed. They constantly texted me making sure the we had everything we needed! I was very surprised with how good the service was. Even when we checked out, they stored our bags because we were going to a Seahawks game and didn't wanna carry anything around. Thank you Moxy for such a pleasant experience! My boyfriend & I stayed here for 4 nights on our first trip to Seattle. I don't agree with half of the reviews on here - if you have any intelligence, you look at the amenities, and details of the hotel prior to booking - if you did so, you would know this isn't a standard hotel. We loved our stay - the rooms are smaller than average hotel room, but was not an issue and met all of our needs, and was cozy. I thought the hotel was in great location for the price. The staff were all pleasant to deal with. Good internet connection, good drinks. Did not try the food, so can't comment on that. They also allowed us to check out 1 hour late - they're check out is already late at Noon, so that was nice. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because we did not receive free drink tokens (If you are promoting this, you should ENSURE they are given to all guests, guests should not have to ask - in which I did not), and I paid for and requested a city view - we were on the second floor, and although we weren't looking at a concrete wall, we were not looking at a city view either - maybe do not promote city view if you actually do not have any. Also, we would have our DND sign on the door, and it seems as though housekeeping does not pay attention, as we had to walk to the door and tell her we did not need service (even having sign on the door) This is an upbeat hotel, so there is a lot going on in the lobby and loud music playing at times - but, I do not agree with the "loud disruptive" comments. We were on the second floor, pretty much right above the lobby, and we literally could not hear a thing. Overall, satisfies with our stay at the Moxy! read more

I would have rather stayed at a Motel Six. No closets, no lotion/moisturizer, no room service, no cups for water. Room was cramped and we paid extra for a "city view" only to stare directly into the office building within the same block. If you can't offer a view, cool, but don't charge me extra for something that doesn't exist. The best part was the "pet friendly" policy that charged $50 extra yet couldn't even offer a water dish. When I went back down to the front desk to ask for a water bowl and cups for my gf and I, the best they could give me for my dog was a giant mixing bowl. I'm not high maintenance, I grew up poor, this place is just a rip off. read more

Great location and looks trendy from outside. Check in counter doubles down for a bar which looks cool and trendy. However, amenities are subpar. The ceiling is not even painted. It is just a slab of concrete that you expect to see in parking garage floor. The mirror in my room has black stain on it all over. read more

Staff was very friendly. Your check in is connected to a bar which I thought was cool. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms though a tad small can comfortably hold two people. The problem was our AC unit stopped working the second night. I called the front desk and they said Maintenance would come but they never did. I was offered a room change or a $75 credit. I opted for the credit. Not sure if this was just a coincidence or due to the fact many hotels now go green. They have sensors so if your the type that likes to come back from your day out to a cold room. It won't happen in one of these green hotels. The ac unit here did have a sensor but the front desk claimed this wasn't a green hotel. At any rate the stay wasn't enjoyable thankfully the windows open up slightly and the night was cool. How could it have been handle better. 24 hour maintenance or having them come up as originally advised. A night should have been made complimentary. UPDATE. As I was checking out I asked to confirm the credit was placed however the agent who advised she would never placed the credit. Hotel doesn't have a manager on duty at all times. read more

I'm a big fan of Moxy hotels- this will be our second stay at one (we stayed here and in Chicago). It's stylish, clean, and modern. In a good location too- not a busy tourist area either (near amazon). Yes, the rooms are small- but you should know this before booking your stay here. However, the rooms are clean, up to date, and very stylish. For us it was ok- we were out all day and just came here to get ready and sleep. Front desk service was one the of the biggest downfalls. Spent two nights at the Moxy in downtown Seattle with my wife for Valentine's Day. Let me start off by saying that the hotel staff are really, really nice. The hotel can be considered "eclectic" with their decorations...and I liked that a lot. It's certainly well located near Lake Union too...plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance or even by the Seattle streetcar line. Large LED TV in the room was also nice as was the gas fireplace in the bright and modern lobby. At check-in we got a chip for two free drinks in the bar...a nice touch. But that is about the most I can say that is really positive. The cons for the hotel: a. There is no hotel parking, thus you either park on street and feed the meter every 2 to 4 hrs...or park in one of the local parking garages. $51 for less than two days...sigh. b. The rooms are tiny...really tiny. There is no closet to hang your clothes - you hang your clothes on these hooks along the wall which is inconvenient. The bathroom is also small...can't really have more than one person in there at once. There is no place to lay out your suitcase other than on the bed or on the single chair next to the bed. c. Unfortunately...they get a one star for cleanliness. There were dust bunnies in our room under our bed, the floor was sticky (ewww) and the halls (at least the 3 rd floor hall) was never vacuumed. The outside of the toilet near the front looked like it had not really been cleaned well...you know the "drips" that happen on the front of the toilet. There was a french fry in the elevator door channel that was never removed over the two nights we were there, there were broken skittles on the hallway carpet, hair pins and paperclips were scattered all along the hallway. Would have been so easy to vacuum up but that never happened. It wasn't like they were slammed with a convention of guests...we hardly saw anyone there during our stay. d. The soap dispenser in the shower did not work - kudos to housekeeping for bringing up a replacement very quickly though. e. West side rooms back up to the open windows of Amazon employees...I can imagine they get quite the show now and again. This forces you to close the curtains, making a small room even smaller. In general, I would shy away from staying here again. It could be nice if they would clean the rooms and hallways better but it does not seem to be a priority. I will admit that most hotels in Seattle are pretty pricey, but to stay in one that is not clean and pay that much is a large disappointment. read more

I went there checkin in 5:00 pm met the front desk name sky was pretty good but then the graveyard guy don't know his and. Sleeping on the couch woke him up to get me a drink but I guess bar closed at 10:30 pm when they tell u till 2 am I packed up my stuff leaving he flicked me off that pissed me off more so I went back in try to ask his name he doesn't have it and then he wants to say sorry after he did everything but I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all we blame Covid lack of shortage in employee they get paid hourly can we get our service he pay for the room too but I guessu money is not good enough so yea don't get this hotel #payattentiontograveyardpeople they mess up more then anybody read more

I love a good boutiquey weirdo hotel but this place is trying way too hard. The lobby is cool. The elevator is ridiculous. The rooms are crazy small and the layout is awful. The big club chair, why? The tiny foldout desk, why? If no closet then maybe a luggage rack? I saw an iron and in retrospect I've no idea how i would've found the space to iron something if I'd wanted to. If you travel for business and like a little space and comfort, stick with the other Marriott/SPG property types. If kitschy details like construction lighting, fake rotary phones, beard art and an elevator designed as a cross body bag light you up then this is your joint. read more

I'm a long time business traveler. This was not a good hotel. Paper thin walls, general building noise throughout the night, possibly from plumbing. The king bed was really uncomfortable, which is a first for me at a Marriott property. The decor, the vibe, I get what they are doing, and it's all fine. But the reason people generally go to a hotel - to sleep- was a bad experience. If you do choose this hotel, be aware that the parking is next door and not at the hotel itself. This review is more related to the service, even though I didn't particularly like the rooms(very small, no basic amenities). A few hours after checking out of my hotel room, I realized I had forgotten my nice sunglasses in my room. I called the hotel and was passed around by the front desk and operations department. I could not get anyone to even check if they were still in the room or had been sent to the lost and found. I was told that the lost and found was too far and full of items for anyone to check right now. They didn't even offer to call me back. I tried calling again to leave a message with the manager. Voicemail full on 3 separate attempts. I was still in Seattle so I decided to stop by the next day to see if I could get any staff member to check. I talked to one of the operations members who quietly said she would go check. She never returned! I waited in the lobby for an hour. Finally someone came out and asked me a few questions about my glasses and told me they would check and give me a call. I returned home to Portland. Waited 3 days. No call! I finally was able to leave a message with the manager and someone called me back. They said the glasses were not there. It was extremely frustrating because if I could have gotten someone to help me the day I left them there, I am sure I would have gotten them back. I don't recommend this place. Most staff(except a few) act like they could care less if you stayed there. Not a good reflection on the Marriott brand. read more

I was excited to stay at this new hip hotel in the Marriott family. So conveniently located. While I was warmly welcomed at check in at the bar, service declined from there. The compact, hip room has no place to store clothing. No closet (a few hangers hang in hooks) and no dresser or cupboard. Fine for a one night stay, but troublesome for someone staying for four nights. The bathroom had only one bath towel. I requested additional towels using the app. No towels delivered. Even after a call to the "crew", no additional towels. In fact, my used towel from the morning that was left on the floor (a universal signal for a fresh towel) was rehung on the hook. Deeply disappointed. Do not expect to see me return here on my next trip to Seattle (and I am here often). Think I will try the IHG's Even Hotel that also just opened a few blocks away. read more

I had such an amazing experience at The Moxy! Front desk was nice and attentive, room was immaculate, bathrooms were sparkling, and you get a free cocktail upon check in! As other reviewers had mentioned, the rooms are definitely smaller than your average. If you're looking for a place with lots of drawers and storage, this is not the hotel for you. They do however have a desk and place to hang your clothes if you need anything hung up. Also, this hotel is close to the metro so it's easy access to the city. Does not live up to Marriott standards. No check in desk, you check in at the bar where they are quick to let you know about your free drink but slow to provide any other service. Rooms are too small even for a single person with no place to unpack anything. Bathrooms are cute but lack space for personal items. No desk to place your computer which forced me to go to the lobby to complete some work calls but with the loud music piped in I had a hard time getting this done. Might be a cute hotel for a weekend adventure but definitely not for those needing to work. Lack of breakfast food also an issue. read more

The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. I loved the bar and lounge area, deciding to actually come back and hangout at the hotel several nights of my trip opposed to going to other bars in the area. The only issue I had was with house keeping. Checked in on Monday night, House keeping didn't come thru Wednesday so I requested them to come tidy up since my S/o was arriving Wednesday night. House keeping came right away but only provided 1 towel. This was fine and not an issue until Thursday evening when we again had no house keeping. Thursday we requested additional towels and let the front desk know house keeping had only come once upon request from Monday-Thursday. We had them double check we weren't on some type of list to not have service, they assured us we weren't and comped some points or something. Well still no towels, so Friday morning rolls around and I have to go to the main desk at 7:30am for a towel since the 1 towel we had for 2 people since Wednesday is still wet! It took half an hour for a towel to be brought up which would have been fine if I hadn't already had to shower to get ready for work. My S/o spoke again to the front desk and they assured we would have service the remainder of our trip. House keeping came one more time during the stay, so overall it was two visits, one by request, during a 7 day stay. But other than that everything else was great! I stayed here one night with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday. I don't as intrigued by the idea that the Moxy hotels are catered to a younger crowd and they DID NOT disappoint. They let us check in early, upgraded my room for my birthday and comped me a beer or two before I went out that night. The bartenders are awesome, the interior is so cool and modern, the beds are big and so comfy, the rain shower was so nice to relax in and the HUGE tv to watch Netflix on after a long night out. Typical "hip" hotel in downtown Seattle- nice that they had two jars of goldfish and skittles. They also give you a free drink at their bar which was cool. The downside is size of rooms- I got a king suite with a city view but was slightly disappointed when I opened the room door and saw how much smaller it actually was than depicted. I just want others to not feel deceived when they book this room online and feel they are not getting what they thought they paid for.
