I stay here a lot for work. When its good, its soooo good, but there have been times when I feel like someone is not paying attention well enough and i feel a little unwelcome. Being a regular, I probably take it a little more harshly than others might, but sometimes this place is like a second home. First off, stay lake view only. The trash services on the back side of the hotel are so loud. I think its either Tues or Thurs, but it hits at like 2 or 3 am and it is loud! Never check in at 3pm during the summer. Its always chaos and there is no bellman directing traffic. front staff is pretty much nonexistant when it comes to getting cars moving when there is a jam. Was stuck for about 20 mins previously trying to get to the garage. Parking is very secure and hotel is in very safe area. Its one of the only hotels with self park in a nonpublic garage. $40 per night. Staff in restaurant is great. Food is consistant, and dinner is much better than breakfast. They only serve starbucks coffee which is a huge downside to me. But hey, if its your thing. Wine and beer selections are great. If you have ever eaten at a marriott, you know the quality. But the chefs are actually really good here and try to elevate the food a bit where they can. Waitstaff is great. I did have someone once get a little tiffed at me for coming in about 45 mins till close and wanting dinner (it was a very long day that day, I was so hangry and everything was closed), but I think it may have been an off day because I didnt have that issue again with that person. I loooove that they have such an experienced waitstaff during dinner hours. They are all the best and honestly, are the only reason why I stay here instead of the other nearby hotels. I cannot praise them enough. They also have a multilingual staff, which is so awesome. Hotel general staff is mixed. The front desk can be totally lost and unable to do their jobs sometimes and then other times they are absolutely amazing. Anytime I have interacted with a manager or housekeeping, I have had a great experience; complaints are handled quickly and without issue. Sometimes the front desk employees seem to not really know what is going on or how to investigate or resolve issues, especially with checkin issues. its a little frustrating when I pay for a package and I have to explain my package to them or they argue about whats included when I have the Marriott app right there laying it out. If a manager is around, its handled, but if not, they sometimes make me do extra legwork to prove what I purchased (especially with packages that include parking). Housekeeping is great and responsive and I have yet to have a clean room. Sometimes they leave a little chocolate or something for me when I stay which makes me so happy. Dont forget to tip in cash. They are amazing. Security is great and this hotel is quiet. Never had issues with dangerous people around or parties or anything if the such. No nonsense, even on NYE, so security is on it. Birds are everywhere because of the lake, so if you are scared of them or have a problem with a pigeon at your window, stay elsewhere. The large park across the street is great for lake jogging. Hotel is modern, and the gym area is nice. Very business focused here, so if you are traveling for work, its great. Overall, its the only place I like to stay in Seattle. Slu is my favorite area and being close to the end of the 99 tunnel helps so much. This courtyard is really rare since they are a courtyard with a full service restaurant, so do take advantage! recommend. read more

Pros: -The gym is Gorgeous -The hotel is right on the lake -It's quiet and the beds are super cozy - I rarely sleep well but I slept well. -The rooms are spacious Cons: -The elevators are painfully slow -The room smelled a bit funny, the whole place just feels kind of old -Something is just "off" with the staff, like they don't care. I was in town for DubHacks and late into the Hackathon decided to get a hotel room. The hotel front door was locked past a certain hour, so I needed to be buzzed in to check in, which was prompt. The layout was quieter because there's only one set of elevators with corridors branching out, so I wonderfully had the option of being nowhere near one. I made sure to book a double queen so I could put one of the comforters over the room chair since I have rather strong allergies and generally prefer no furniture in my rooms which is why I don't often stay at Courtyards. However beyond the comfortable ad clean bed, I found the restroom well sized and the counter area very well designed. Since I was only there for the day, I wasn't able to use any of the other amenities, but there was no tourism charge, and I found the price very reasonable for how clean the hotel was. Overall I would absolutely stay at this location again and we will likely do so again on our next Seattle visit. read more

I am specifically reviewing The Bistro at this Courtyard Lake Union hotel. I will say, I am a Marriott associate from east coast and usually don't opt for hotel meals. BUT, I'm glad we decided to have both a light dinner and breakfast here. It was DELICIOUS! Ambiance is very nice, especially at dinner time. Service was fantastic and everyone we met on staff were kind, attentive and with great personalities. For dinner we ordered flatbreads which were VERY filling and we could have split them, but didn't expect such a good and well portioned serving. Breakfast we had eggs our way and my picky self with eggs got exactly how I ordered. Chef knows how to prepare eggs. Everything was delicious. Yes, pricey, but at a hotel you expect that, but I feel it was worth the price and no effort looking or walking anywhere else in a strange town. read more

Ready nice hotel in downtown. Feels like a safe area. E walked to the space needle, Chihuly Garden and the museum of pop. It has a really nice restaurant in it called the bistro that's open for breakfast and dinner. A workout room, a little place where you can buy snacks and things you forgot to bring, a pool and so much more. The rooms are very comfortable. Our room was just a king so it wasn't huge but plenty big enough for us with a pullout sofa a large TV and a large king size bed. The bathroom is very nice. Split into two rooms With a real nice spacious shower room. The people behind the front counter were nice each time we spoke with him and gave us suggestions for where to go and a couple maps to get around. It's not too far from the ports and the sound as well. Very fresh looking not sure how old it is, but the rooms are nice and clean recently repainted and walls redone, our shower look to be almost new if not new. Highly recommend. read more

I'm just now getting on the hotel review train. Overall, I would not stay here again . The room size is pretty small, but it's definitely doable. The check-in and parking is what frustrates me . I travel with Marriott a lot . Whenever you book a hotel if you go under amenities it has parking and it usually list how much parking is for and if it is on site, indoor garage, etc.. ---- I checked in and no one told me that it was extra for parking . They just asked if I was parking a vehicle with them and what type of vehicle. -- When you park your car and you take the ticket , it does not say anything about it being paid. It just says take your ticket by the front desk for it to. " validated". And then, as you're walking back from your car, you have a sign on the door that says overnight parking is $40. -- Personally, I think that it is a form of manipulation to hide the parking cost . For me the room tonight was. $160. As you can tell by my review so far... I am thorough about details. The guy who checked me in was nice, but he didn't mention anything about the parking like I said earlier . Hotel does not have a pool so that is a turn off in rooms are kind of small but other than that it is a pretty decent stay. The hotel does have a restaurant, but the menu is very limited . Drinks are somewhat spendy but who cares. I will dispute the parking charge at a later date, but beware. $160 stay to a $200 stay. Only benefit is not Marriott points. read more

(0/10 if I could) I am beyond disappointed with the Courtyard by Marriott. We paid almost $500 for our stay and were shocked to find out that breakfast was not included--something that is standard at nearly every other Marriott property we've stayed at. On top of that, we were charged a tourism fee for staying in the city we literally live in. Lmfao. Absolute joke. The front desk receptionist was hands down the rudest part of this experience. Every interaction with her came with attitude, snark, and zero professionalism--especially toward my husband when we had simple questions. Customer service was nonexistent. We travel often and always choose Marriott because they've never let us down--until now. My father is an elite member and has always told me Marriott would never disappoint, but this location absolutely did. This was the one time we decided to get a hotel instead of driving back and forth with two kids, and it turned into a complete regret. I'd rather stay at a Motel 6 than come back here. Read this before you book: The location is great, and the front desk staff are friendly. That said, make sure to carefully review your final bill. We were charged for three items from their small shop that we never purchased. Since purchases from the shop require both your room number and name before being charged, these "mistakes" don't seem accidental. It feels like a shady hit-or-miss tactic--if you notice, they remove the charges right away; if you don't, they keep the extra money. read more

We stayed here for a night while visiting the city and found it to be a reasonably nice Marriot close to lots of Seattle attractions. We were in town to attend a show and didn't want to drive home after. Our king room had clean linens, a nice bathroom, and was quiet. A better view of the water could be gotten on the other side of the hotel, but ours was facing a parking lot with some long-term homeless housing units. Our room had everything we needed, though pillows were pretty uncomfortable, and coffee/tea selection was a bit sad. The toiletries smelled great, though, and check-in and check out were easy. Parking garage is pretty small, but apparently, there is a lower level, too, so if you have trouble finding parking, be sure and ask. It's walking distance to the water, lots of shops and restaurants; however, the city can be unsafe at times recently and there are lots of ubers for hire. Restaurant and bar in the hotel looked nice, and the gym was beautiful and luxurious. Overall, it's a pretty decent Courtyard Marriot. read more

As I make reservations for this year's NYE trip to see those Space Needle Fireworks!! I realized I never left a review. this was an absolutely amazing hotel combo. That was the fact that there's a giant parking spot right across the street to avoid expensive shallow parking double bonus. Did you have a nice gym and a beautiful atmosphere and walking score and leave keep in mind there is no pool or hot tub... stay at Marriotts when possible and I will say this did not disappoint, and they always do a lot being very accommodating and their app is top-notch. I am unsure why the staff were so aggressive. They must have been having a hard week. When I asked if they knew anything about the parking behind the hotel, the staff immediately launched into a speech about how the hotel isn't liable for anything that happens out there. It seemed like they didn't know how to answer a question without adding a lot of extra detail that didn't actually address my original concern. Regarding the parking, which I didn't bring up with the staff since they made it clear at check-in that I would be charged for it: the advertisement stated parking was included. I thought it was odd to advertise "included parking," as this wasn't a Disneyland location or a high-demand area. When I arrived, I was informed I would have to pay $40 per day, and then, when they found out I had rented a 4Runner, I was told it would be $50 per day to park in the so-called "oversized" lot. I have to say, calling it oversized is a bit of a stretch. I feel like I have more parking in front of my house than what they offered in their "oversized" lot. Watching some of the F-150s try to squeeze into a space was pretty funny, though. "Luckily," I guess, I was only charged $40 per day. Honestly, these hidden charges when booking are so shady. I would have been fine paying $60 per day if they had just been upfront about it instead of surprising me at check-in. Just charge what it's going to cost. A parking space isn't a luxury when you're providing a hotel for travelers--it's expected. This is Seattle, not Japan; you don't have a great transit system that would make it feasible for travelers not to rent a car. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and it had a decent view. No pool. The gym was okay, but if you could get a Peloton, that would be appreciated. The lack of daily cleaning and laundry service is ridiculous. There were two adults and two kids in this room. I get it, you "care about the environment" and you're totally not trying to cut corners with staff, but please understand, I like to take a shower every day, sometimes more if I plan to work out or enjoy my day. Kids are messy, and I don't like staying in filth. Oh, and when I got there, I was told I had a "ten-dollar credit" per day because I was part of the Bonvoy program that I could use at the grill or market. Cool, except on the last day, I was told I had a twenty-dollar credit. Whoops. read more

We came to town for a concert, and wanted something somewhat close, and something that wasn't going to break the bank, but also wasn't low class. This place is really nice, and right across from the Lake. We didn't get a chance to check the lake out. I thought it was pretty cool to see the sea planes sitting there on the lake. We had a king room. It was a little small, but still met our needs, and clean. The love seat sofa, with ottoman was comfortable, and looks fairly new. I also like that it had a little couch table. The bed was really comfortable. I actually didn't wake up once through the night. A rare thing for me. I was a little disappointed in the fact we were not put in a room near our SIL, but not holding that against anyone. That may not be anyone's fault. I would have also liked a view of the lake, like she got, instead of just a building. That would have been the cherry to the stay. We didn't dine here, so I can't say anything about the dining. We walked a few blocks to a Korean place that was really good. They have a locked parking garage, the ceiling is pretty low. I wouldn't expect to bring your tall trucks here. My mid size suv fit. I can't remember the clearance. You would have to call to ask them before bringing your vehicle. The space needle looks like it is pretty close. I wouldn't say walking distance, but you can see it, and it is really close by. Also Pledge Arena wasn't too far away to get an Uber. Would come back again. read more

Facing Lake Union and very friendly staff, this is a great location. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Pros.. Location Good food within walking distance. On-site cafe. We had a last minute to Seattle for a night away and decided we wanted to stay near downtown - this spot worked perfectly! Francisco at the front desk was amazingly helpful, got us checked in quickly and in an great room with a view of the lake. The room had great beds, an internet ready TV that let us bring up Netflix and a really nice shower for getting the little dudes clean! Parking was easy and (during the pandemic) more affordable. The market had plenty of snacks and they're within walking distance to 3 drug stores, and across the street for the lake! We were impressed the whole time and just might have a new spot to stay when we take our last minute trips! Great location, very nice rooms (especially for us and 3 kids), and wonderful staff - a hard trifecta to beat! read more

The Courtyard Seattle Downtown/South Lake Union is perfectly located across South Lake Union and Seattle's technology hub. Right across the street is a beautiful lake view with plenty of areas to walk and explore. While this location isn't in the heart of Downton it is a great spot not far from all the local attractions. You are within walking distance to many places and there is also public transportation including a bus and trolly located nearby too. I stayed in a guest room with two queens and a lake view. The lake view was very affordable and worth the extra money for the view. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My room and the entire hotel seemed very clean.  Amenities included free high-speed Wi-Fi, TV, refrigerator in the room as well as a gym and restaurant on site. They also have a small convenience store in the lobby with beverages and grab and go items for purchase. The staff was very helpful and had great recommendations for things to do in Seattle. I was very impressed during my entire stay and would love to stay here again in the future! read more

Stayed here right before a cruise. It was clean and one of the better Courtyard properties I've been to. I thought it was a little pricey but I guess it's the season. There's a restaurant downstairs that was decent. It's a 15 minute ride to pier 91, and about 25 to the airport. Recommended. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with this hotel: June 2024: I made a reservation for August 11-13. July 15: I canceled the trip due to a personal emergency, and the hotel immediately agreed for a refund. Aug 10: I still hadn't received the refund, so I contacted the hotel manager (name initials MI), who confirmed the refund via email. After Aug 10: Mr. MI disappeared. Despite numerous polite and patient attempts by both myself and BOOKING.COM to reach Mr. MI by phone and email, we received no response. As of Oct 15: after dragging this issue out for three months, the hotel finally informed me that they wouldn't refund me. They claimed that Mr. MI's email didn't count as written approval (excuse me?!). Throughout these THREE MONTHS, I've been patiently and politely asking for my refund. Mr. MI and other Marriott representatives had countless opportunities to simply clarify the policy, and I wouldn't have wasted my time chasing this $603 refund. I kept following up because they promised a refund, and I naturally expected them to honor their word. Instead, they chose to avoid any direct communication and wasted my time. If he doesn't respect me, I have no reason to respect him. NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL: complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer service skills. read more

I've stayed here a couple times for work and have had a good experience both times. The rooms are certainly on the smaller side and you don't have a view of the lake from every room, but it's completely comfortable for business travel. Parking was a bit confusing the first time I arrived, as I accidentally parked in the lot for trucks and large vehicles over 6'. Initially they said I could stay parked there, but then made me move to the other lot. Not a big deal, but when you arrive make sure you go into the underground lot if you're in a regular sized car. My rooms have been very clean during my stays with no issues as far as toiletries and amenities. They are still taking COVID very seriously, which I appreciate, but know that you need your vaccine card on you to even get a coffee to-go (as of 12/9/21). read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Marriott. I found it to be a very comfortable hotel in a very convenient and safe neighborhood with plenty of nice restaurants and activities nearby. The decor of the rooms is fairly nice and modern. The gym is quite good. I would say it matches the setup that I have seen in more luxurious Marriott hotel chains. The room temperature is a bit unsteady though. It's not that you will either be way too hot or cold, you could tell that it felt a little cool or a little warm at different times of the day even though the thermostat wasn't touched. read more

This 3-star hotel met expectations to earn a 4-star "good" rating on Yelp. Obviously, this hotel (next to Lake Union) is a Courtyard by Marriott. Don't expect the Ritz ... in style or prices. The slightly lower rates reflect the a-ok-ness of this location's services, amenities, and rooms. A guest room with king-size bed and view of the lake was neither antiquated or fabulous. It was clean and effective as a place to spend a night and freshen up at the end/start of each day. The fitness center had a decent size gym with fully-functioning equipment. I stayed during the pandemic, so, it required an appointment for a specific (and limited) time which was a welcome safety measure despite the inconvenience of scheduling my workout the day before. The underground parking was gated and met needs. I was glad to have the rate waived as part of the room package we selected. My favorite experience was interactions with the slightly-understaffed reception desk and small grab-n-go market. Smiles are always appreciated. Courtyard hotels aren't fancy. Neither am I. So, the reasonable rates, clean spaces, friendliness, and almost convenient location (across the street from Lake Union just 1.5 miles from Pike Place Market), all adds up to 4 stars. read more

Hotel and rooms are fine. Although they need luggage racks in room. Restaurant- food is not as good as some other courtyards. Brussels sprouts are fried and greasy/burnt. And arugula strawberry salad was ok but the meatballs were disgusting. Meatballs were spongy and had hard bits at same time. Gym is pretty good and modern updated. The room is pretty nice here. Cleaning lady is nice too! The front desk workers have attitude and not helpful. One thing to be ware of is that there is quite a bit of extra line item charges on your bill, including occupancy sales tax, county tax, tourism fee, parking fee, and parking tax. The most outrageous item is parking tax. I was charged $40 for parking a day and $9.9 for parking tax. So parking tax here at this hotel is 24.75%. If you're staying multiple days, it will really adds up. So watch out. read more

My wife and I spent the weekend here. Peace and quiet, beautiful view, good food, and halfway decent prices, complemented the whole experience. King size bed is a bit on the hard side. Fitness center is strangely well equipped compared to more expensive hotels we've stayed in. No free weights above 50lbs, but that saves on floor repair, so I get it. I thought we were near the Tech Hub of Seattle my sarcasm hopefully doesn't go unnoticed just an irony that you go through the effort online per the hotels request but to no avail. Also I guess being a Bonvoy member doesn't afford any amenities or consideration. Positive note was we were able to check in early maybe that's why we got the early bird special ;). The location of this hotel is super convenient and waiting up to Lake Union views is more than I could've asked for during our wedding weekend! The events team were easy to work with to accommodate a hotel room block for our out-of-town guests, and I'm docking a star because they didn't include the welcome letters in my guests' rooms when they offered (not a huge deal, but I was slightly bummed). They also said the fridge would be big enough to hold my bouquet, but it wasn't. Tacos Chukis and Stone BBQ are right up the street, and there are some other great restaurants/coffee/bars within walking distance. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds are really comfortable. I especially appreciated the little shop downstairs fully stocked with munchies for late night eats, as well as the lemon/orange water during the way in front of the elevators. read more

The hotel was lovely and the perfect spot for my family and I during my graduation weekend. The hotel room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the lake and great food are all within walking distance. I will definitely be staying here again. I'd like to say a special thank you to the front desk staff, Jacob, for making me and my family feel special during our stay. When I was checking out, Jacob commented on my stole, which is a Philippine Flag my mother wore when she graduated from college in the United States and passed on to me. Jacob reminded me to switch the flag over to the "peace" colors, instead of the "war" colors. Which surprised us. He knew quite a bit of history of the Philippines and shared all of his facts to my mother while we were checking out. It made her day and she was so impressed with his knowledge of her home country. I had a pretty great stay at this hotel. I was traveling solo and I felt very safe staying there. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was quite comfortable, even though I didn't spend much time in it. It has a gym and a little cafe inside, although, you're better off going out for coffee or brunch. If you're a runner, you can run along Lake Union and get a fantastic breeze from the water and you're in very close proximity to the Museum of History and Industry. It's also pretty close to the Space Needle, Chiluly Glass Gardens and Science Museum but expect a decent walk. What you expect a mile to feel like in other cities does feel different in Seattle. The hills aren't as bad as San Francisco but don't expect flat ground. read more

I came in last night around midnight on an impulse booking after the Russ concert at Climate Pledge. He was so kind, respectful, courteous and went out of his way to go the extra mile. He is top tier, and definitely the kind of human being anyone would want to represent their company- he's really out there showing nothing but class, character & passion. He was so chipper and sweet upon checking in so late, I work night audit myself and can understand how draining it can be sometimes working graveyard, but he truly set the bar!! Next time I come downtown for another concert, I'll be choosing this location and recommend everyone else to do the same, you won't be disappointed.
