    Fantastic Pizza - Awesome Crew!
    Michael E.

Incredible pizza place, I used to have to drive forever to get good pizza. Now we have probably the best pizza restaurant within a 25 mile radius here in Moyock. I live for pizza, and this place has never disappointed me or my family. I've totally enjoyed the Pizzas every time (Hawaiian is our favorite) and this is one of the few places that has salami, the Stromboli's are excellent, the Knots are tasty and the deserts are so worth the extra calories. Their new pizza oven has really helped them keep up with the orders - it seems like everyone in town goes here now. They hire a lot of the local kids and they really they really look like they enjoy working at MPK. The people up front are so courteous and professional, what energy! The owner put in some awesome new benches, I will be dining in next time!

Thank you MPK! Your pizza is always amazing and was a great addition to making my Mother's Day special.

The pizza at MPK is the best you'll find! Thank you for making my Mother's Day special.

Pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper and onion pizza.

We ordered delivery, the pizza was early, and the food was absolutely delicious!! I only got a picture of my perfect pizza, but the Bacon cheesy fries and the Apple pie pizza were fantastic as well.

I came here with my mom, hubby, and son for dinner on a Saturday evening. The lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. After telling her this was our first time, she gave us a menu and told us to sit down and just come up when we were ready. We ordered a cauliflower Hawaiian pizza, pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and a small pepperoni pizza. I ordered a mushroom and sausage calzone. My calzone was delicious! Oh, we also ordered garlic knots and these were the best. It was soaked in garlic butter and garlic and just made our mouths happy. We also ordered a small Greek salad and a small chef salad. It was just okay. I'm very impressed with this restaurant! We definitely will be back! Also, I received a 10% coupon when I checked in on Yelp. Great service. Very clean.

A very delicious pie right here

New to the area and was thankful for Yelp. We found this great pizza place literally on our way through town. The vibe was positive and lots of smiling faces. Friendly staff. The pizza was a welcome feast for a trek across the country! We landed in the right place.

Living in the OBX, I searched for a pizza joint worth trying while traveling home. I found Moyock Pizza on Yelp! The restaurant is located in a stand alone strip mall off a "feeder street". Upon entering we were warmly greeted by the front counter staff to sit wherever we wished. What they neglected to tell us was you must place your order at the counter and retrieve your plates, silverware yourselves. The fountain machine is a "serve yourself" setup as well. Unfortunately we chose a table and sat waiting for someone to take our order. A couple came over and clued us in to the "the way" after they themselves had sat for over 15 minutes before they were aware. We ordered sodas and 2 Large pizzas, a pepperoni & all pepperoni 1/2 green pepper & 1/2 mushroom. The pizzas were delivered relatively fast! The pepperoni only pizza was "perfection", nice NY style with chewy/crisp crust . The other pizza was a bit disappointing, the inner circumference crust was soaking wet (actually sitting in a pool of greasy water). I believe it was the fresh veges that released their water while cooking. I cut away the wet parts and enjoyed the outer edges, my husband opted for the pepperoni only pizza, he was very disappointed given the price. The delivery aspect is super busy, so definitely a popular place! Yes we would stop in again, but opt for the pepperoni only pizza!

    Burnt pizza from Moyock Pizza.

Burnt pizza. Every time. I even ask them to be careful and it's still burnt. Then, they look at you like you're crazy when you show them that the entire underside of the pizza is black. Completely done with this place. I'll get pizza from anywhere but here from now on. Really hope they go out of business so a restaurant that can cook. ** Update: that's your response? That I've asked for a refund for burnt pizza? Burnt pizza? I've included a photo. That was from today, after you installed your new ovens. Actually, today was the first time I've asked for a refund. I had to drive in heavy traffic to show it to you, and it took you 15 minutes to figure out the refund. I assume because you thought I'd just give up and leave. The only other refund was offered by you, when our pizza was over two hours late and you could not even guess when it might be ready. I've only ever dealt with managers there, and I've never been rude or even raised my voice. You have no business operating a restaurant in our town. You don't know how. Your food is terrible, and you likely rely on tourists who don't have time to complain. I'll be warning everyone about you.

Moyock Pizza slipping on quality. They need to hold some training on how to make pizza

Detailed & Heartfelt (great for Facebook or longer posts)…read more AJ Gator's is a true diamond in the rough--a family-oriented sports bar with a welcoming and diverse atmosphere. I always sit at the bar because the bartenders here are second to none. They multitask effortlessly, meet customer needs directly, and make sure everyone stays safe while having a good time. Special recognition goes to Katie, who always makes me feel valued. She and Diana check in on me, make sure I've eaten, and even know when to cut someone off--because they care more about your safety than your tab. That's customer service at its finest. The team behind the dream is incredible. Shelly, the manager, runs a tight-knit group of trusted bartenders--Katie, Diana, and Sarah--who keep everything flowing smoothly. Their teamwork creates an environment where veterans, teachers, blue-collar workers, and white-collar professionals can all come together. No matter our differences, AJ Gator's reminds us that we all share the same community spirit. Katie deserves special recognition for her professionalism, kindness, and genuine heart. She is one of the main reasons AJ Gator's feels like home, and why I'll keep coming back.

Unfortunately there was nothing spectacular about this AJ Gators, it's a pretty standard carbon copy. I did notice that it one seemed to be 2 waitresses. We ordered a bunch of apps and a couple entrees. The main thing that raised an eyebrow for me was sitting so close to the drink station, tennis balls at the bottom of all the chairs, margaritas served in normal glasses, and the complete lack of flavor and over frying of the wings. I couldn't eat them and sent them back. The waitress didn't seem too happy about it, she didn't understand initially what my issue was until I flat out said "they just don't taste good at all". I don't think m I would find myself coming back to this location.

My dad also enjoyed his fried fish meal (he subbed the "chips" for a salad). I'm sure for a sports bar scene, it's a great place in a small town to enjoy a game and eat a decent meal. The menu includes a large variety from made-to-order pizza, to burgers, salads, and appetizers galore. My biggest issue from my last visit was with the staff. Our server was overly friendly and flirtatious to my dad in a way that made us both uncomfortable. I could add some comments about what she was wearing but I don't know how to say it kindly or appropriately. I also could not stand having to see the busser mindlessly wipe a table in the same spot for nearly five minutes as he snapchatted and laughed with someone in the parking lot through the window. I know he was snapchatting because he was doing this at the table two away from ours, so his phone was completely visible. He came back about 15 minutes later and did this same routine, at the same table which no one had sat at since. To me, it is disturbing to see the person who is supposed to be cleaning the tables you are eating on, paying absolutely no attention whatsoever to the cleanliness. He literally wiped back and forth in the same spot on the table as he communicated with some person outside of the window and took videos. If you are going to goof off at work like that, at least do it away from the customers. Even though my food was great, I honestly have no desire to return.

This is THE spot for locals in the Portsmouth area. It's no surprise you see reviews from patrons who drive from all over the Hampton Roads area to visit this gem! Service is so friendly and you can tell it is a TEAM! I sat at the bar so got to watch the open kitchen in action. Their system is down pat and you can tell everyone enjoys working with each other. Each dish I watched from prep to service was handled with meticulous care. PRIDE IN WORK AT ITS FINEST! Everyone works to serve you as a team as well, no worry about "bothering" another member of the staff for something, everyone wants you to enjoy your meal. I can tell there are a lot of local regulars as the staff was engaged on a level you only see when your clientele is consistent and have a vested interest in the success of the business. I've been to 16 countries and travelled all over the states, this is truly one of the most friendly establishments I've had the pleasure of being hosted at. On to the food! I see a few people complain about the small menu, that is the SMARTEST thing a business can do. Focus on what you're good at and demolish the competition. High Street Pizza and Pour delivers on this. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so I ordered the meatballs, the special for their pizza pie of the night (a pork belly, red onion, jalapeño, bbq drizzle dream boat of a pie), a tiramisu and two cocktails. The food in pictures looked smaller than in person... omg I ordered for about 4-5 people! But everyone was soooo good. Meatballs were tender with a fantastic red sauce. Pizza had a crispy buttery crust and the pork belly was rendered perfectly. Tiramisu was fantastic (not sure if that's an in house make or pre done, but it was on point), and the cocktails were perfectly poured with just the right amount of liquor. I left with probably two meals worth of takeout the portions were so large and I can't wait until I'm hungry again. I'm new to the neighborhood and as everyone knows, you need to find your fav local spot to frequent. I'm proud to report, High Street Pizza and Pour House has just taken that spot!

It's my own fault. Being a vegan in a world where eateries are not always vegan friendly, I have to…read moredo a lot of research before I even go to a restaurant. And I didn't do enough research about High Street Pizza, I guess. I always check the menu before I even leave the house when going out to eat. I look for vegan friendly items, and sometimes I call to confirm. The exception is PIZZA. Whenever my not-vegan husband and I decide on pizza, I already know I can customize any pizza with veggies instead of meat and cheese. It was date night Thursday, and High Street Pizza had awesome reviews. I did the "vegan thing" and checked the menu first. I found a lot of vegetable toppings, so I knew I could craft a pizza to my liking. We drove from Va Beach to Portsmouth for dinner. I learned that I cannot craft a pizza with no meat and cheese because High Street Pizza will not make a pizza without cheese. I had no idea you can't just take cheese off of pizza. I do it all the time at other pizza places, but the pizza here must be constructed with cheese. I was told I could get vegan cheese, but I didn't want that. Option 2-order a salad. I opted for the Greek Salad, hold the feta. And since the menu said it came with a red wine vinaigrette dressing, I could eat that instead. After placing our orders, the waitress returned and informed me the red wine vinaigrette was made with mayonnaise at High Street Pizza. The very name of the dressing is a list of the ingredients: Red wine Vinegar How does MAYONNAISE get in there? I even Googled it to make sure I wasn't getting it confused: extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, mustard, oregano, and salt Of course, the dressing can be altered to be "creamy". And yes, there is a CREAMY red wine vinaigrette. But that's not what the menu said. High Street Pizza listed the dressing as just "red wine vinaigrette." I didn't eat anything that evening, but my husband loved every morsel of his sausage and mushroom pie, however. He even said it was one of the best pizzas he ever had! In their defense, High Street Pizza doesn't tout themselves as a vegan friendly restaurant. I am not disappointed about the pizza because my choice not to eat vegan cheese is my preference. They tried to offer an alternative, I chose not to opt for the cheese alternative. Consider listing your salad dressing as "creamy red wine vinaigrette" though. It makes a huge difference leaving the word out.
