I wanted to try something new and I heard about this place over social media. I kinda knew the area so I knew it would be busy for a Saturday afternoon. Good luck on finding parking in the lot because it is small. You might have to park else where and walk to the shop. Since I knew it was going to be busy I ordered online and pick it up later than the suggested time. I ordered the Cotolette Classico (chicken cutlet sandwich) and the La Nonna (Meatball Sub). Couldn't decided if I should order the full or half but end up getting the half. Driving there, my assumption was correct and parking was a no go. I had to park at the Whole Foods lot and go in quickly. Walking in it was a cute shop but very small. The line was out the door and I didn't know who I need to speak to get my online order. Once the crowd moved a bit, I saw a rack against the wall with brown bags and excuse myself through the crowd. I found my name on a bag and took it off the rack and walked out. No one greeted or check me. I guess it runs on the honor system. I got home and we open the boxes. The half was more than enough for one person. Each sandwich was still hot, delicious and a bit messy. I would definitely order take out from here again but chance of trying to dine in is a no go.

For me I think this is a place that is dependent heavily on what you order. I think this could be a five star, but for us it was a four star. The food quality was very good, however the portion sizes of the sandwiches makes them almost inedible. And all the tables around us were having the same issue. Many ended up using a fork and knife to attach the monstrous plate in front of them. I ordered a chicken cutlet, which was well seasoned. However, I didn't order the one with sauce, and it desperately needed the sauce. My husband ordered the pistachio cream sandwich, which was tasty but very subtle flavors. The chips were very good, flavored well and crispy. For us we will come back but order the chicken cutlet with sauce (think their version of a chicken parm).

I wanted to love Mozz & Co. The food really is that good. The Calabrese Cotoletta and truffle chips were both 10/10, and you can tell there's real potential behind the menu. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match. This is not a full-service restaurant, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's important to know going in. You order at the counter, then basically fend for yourself trying to find a seat, if you're lucky enough to grab one. We were there for about two hours total (30 min to order, an hour + waiting for food), and the whole place felt like a zoo. The space is cute, but it's very tight, the outdoor seating helps a bit... though they could definitely use more tables. I do think the staff is trying their best, but the system is clearly overwhelmed. The woman taking and calling out orders was visibly stressed, handed us the wrong food, then argued that it was our fault. Orders are called once and then left on a shelf, so you're constantly checking...not exactly a relaxing dining experience. Parking is also a mess (maybe 8 spots, double parking everywhere, got blocked in trying to leave). On top of everything, the prices feel pretty steep for the portions (especially the cream line), and small details added to the frustration like glass bottle sodas with no help opening them and a phone number that was not in service when I tried calling. I might try again once the chaos dies down, but right now the experience takes away from how good the food actually is.

Their food was delicious!!! I got a chicken cutlet sub and it had to be some of the best chicken cutlet I have ever had! 10/10 recommend! Not much seating but the ambiance was very clean and welcoming! Everyone was very helpful at the takeout counter and I can't wait to try this spot again for a delicious chicken cutlet sandwich!

Where's the rest of the arugula....

First off - let's talk about the wait time. EASILY over an hour - I could go to a sit down restaurant for lunch and be in and out in less time than it takes to get a sandwich here. That will probably self-regulate over time. I've tried a couple different sandwiches, a salad and the tiramisu. Huge portion sizes (the half size is more than enough). I've gotten both the classico and chicken cutlet and in both cases a LOT of meat. But its not a well balanced sandwich - arugula is an after thought - if the protein was ramped down and the arugula ramped up, it would work better - and presumably take less time to make. Bread isnt great - foccacia is meh, the semolina I wouldnt get again. Tiramisu ratios were completely wrong - it was like a hash of lady fingers loaded with whipped cream. If the order time comes down I might go back but not sure.

This modern Italian delicatessen has delicious sandwiches made with the highest quality ingredients imported from Italy. Here you can enjoy handcrafted mozzarella, homemade focaccia, and semolina bread and a curated selection of premium Italian meats. Upon entering you are greeted with smiling faces, attentive service and can expect fresh almost home made to order sandwiches and a classy trattoria ambiance!

Wow this place is popular! I went on a Sunday afternoon and was told that a takeout order would take 90 minutes. I didn't mind because the store is within walking distance of two grocery stores and a boba tea shop. Plenty to do while waiting. Unfortunately, the order wasn't ready for pick-up until way later-- like more than 2 hours later. The actual pick-up time was fifteen minutes after they had closed the store for the day! Afterwards, I discovered that they had forgotten to give me the house chips that I ordered. But what I did get-- the Porchetta Trifolata and Fungi Siciliano on Semolina-- was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, seasonings were impeccable, and the bread was the right kind of chewy. The tiramisu looked a mess, but it tasted heavenly. Hopefully they get their process sorted out over time or maybe find a better way to notify people that their order is ready so there isn't so much time wasted waiting. I'd really like to come back and try their other menu items, but not if I have to wait more than two hours for an order that they didn't even get right.

I ordered take out online and it estimated to be ready by 12:38 and they were spot on! When I arrived, it's such a cute spot. The parking is not ideal but they didn't have a lot of options. I imagine lots of people are going to be parking in Whole Foods. The ambiance is super cute. It's very tiny with a few tables and counter spots. The docs makes it feel a bit cramped and close together. But they have a nice outdoor patio. I was immediately greeted by an older gentleman who told me he retired and lives on the same street as the owner and offered to help. He was hustling! He was so kind and made sure to grab my order number and kept me updated. He was very personable. I order Le Regina after seeing it recommended on Yelp. I ordered the half which was smart because portions are big. This sandwich was delicious! I got it on focaccia and you can tell it's homemade. So light and fluffy. Great sandwich and will definitely be back! They had complimentary lemon water which was much needed on this rare 85 degree day in April.

Huge calabrese chicken cutlet sandwich with stracciatella, vodka sauce and pesto!

I've been looking forward to checking this place out for a while and was thrilled to today. Hands down best sandwich spot I've ever been to. Portions were HUGE and you can easily split a half sandwich with two people. We did the Nonna and Calabrese, some of their house chips, and their tiramisu. I'm salivating just writing about these and am so glad I have leftovers for tomorrow! I can't wait to go back and try their whole menu over time! Incredibly friendly owner and staff and the best lunch experience ever. Highly highly recommend checking them out!

"So we're definitely going to become long time customers there, right?" Right. I've known about More since they opened because some of my Food Blogger friends did content for them when they first opened. I first experienced More's pasta at a pasta collaboration dinner with Fork and Fire. I enjoyed the More Pasta used in that dinner, but I'm not factoring it into this review. I researched More after that dinner and noticed how much area chefs seemed to respect More. My family visited More's WH Center shop on New Year's Eve and purchased the ravioli and Jarred Sage Butter mentioned above. The store is attractive and the pasta is displayed to highlight its appeal. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I have never been to a Fresh Pasta Shop that has inspired more confidence in their pasta. The owner told me the ravioli would be done when it started floating, and she correctly predicted that would be about 3 minutes. She recommended the jarred Sage Butter, which I've never even seen in area Fresh Pasta Shops. She confirmed my guess that the best way to use the butter is to mix the melted butter with pasta water. The ravioli tasted great and the texture was perfect. The sauce was tasty and a terrific partner for the ravioli. More Italian Pasta Lab has three new big fans. 5 Stars

I'm back! The restaurant is located on 389 Main St. in East Hartford, CT. It's been a few months…read moresince I was last here (December) which is a crime. Carmine's is a fresh from scratch kitchen that is ALWAYS open. Their appetizers, pastas, entrees and desserts combine old-world traditional Italian flavor with a modern flair for presentation, and the freshest ingredients around. Menu staples like rigatoni bolognese, fettuccine carbonara and chicken Milanese are coupled with unique recipes like chicken ala vodka and toasted almond cake. They've staffed the kitchen with a dream team of chefs and you can tell instantly! They also do parties, catering and online ordering/delivery. The restaurant is well known for its live music. There is never a cover and parking is always free. This place and produces absolutely amazing food and drinks. I have noticed quite a few menu changes. The Happy Hour menu has expanded. It's also no longer all day Monday. The main menu no longer has prices on featured drinks (although that's the tre d these days). Note that the Bar Bites menu is available open to close! The Main Menu looks the same although there is a new Wine List (that's a first here). The music is very pleasant and the right volume level. It's always a big cool in here too. For my first drink, I'm having a Pratt N Whiskey. This is made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, sweet vermouth, red wine and sour mix. It's definitely an unusual drink. It's not garnished, but it tastes great. The wine sticks out for sure. It's clearly a shaken drink not often found with a whiskey component except for maybe Whiskey Sours. For my first item, I'm having the House Salad made with spring mix, basil, tomatoes, julienned (thinly sliced) carrots, cucumbers and house red wine vinaigrette dressing. This is a big portion! I love this dressing! This tastes great! For my next item, I'm trying the Carmine's Secret Tenderloins. These are off of Carmine's "Secret Menu." They are pan seared, caramelized chicken tenderloins, made with wine, olive oil, cracked black pepper (dried black peppercorns broken into coarse, uneven pieces), kosher salt (a coarse, flaky salt named for its use in the Jewish koshering process of drawing blood from meat), shredded Parmesan and a very special "secret sauce." I'm curious as to what this sauce tastes like. Wow! Nice presentation! These are good! I love that sauce! There's a good crowd in here (20 people). Only one worker (bartender and server). She's damn good at what she does! For my next drink, I'm having a Connecticut Cosmo. This is made with Litchfield Vodka, Wild Moon Cranberry, Triple Sec and lime juice. This vodka is the Gold Medal Winner 2018 & 2019 at the New York International Spirits Competition. Silver Medal Winner at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition! Our Gluten-Free Batchers' Vodka is distilled from luscious corn grown during the beautiful summer months in Somers, CT. We distill 4 ¾ times and use a gravity-fed charcoal filter that takes 12 hours to filter 100 gallons. The longer the vodka sits on the charcoal, the more impurities are removed, which creates an incredibly smooth taste. Bottled at 80 proof. It is impeccably clean, slightly sweet, velvety smooth mouthfeel and sweet buttery overtones. It's smooth with a warm finish with subtle notes of sweet ripe corn at the end. I actually sat down next to the owner of the Distillery at a wine pairing dinner at Flemings in West Hartford about 7-8 years ago. This looks nice! Wow! This has great flavor! For my next item, I'm having the Rigatoni Matinara. Rigatoni is a large, tube-shaped pasta with ridges on the outside and straight-cut ends. Marinara sauce is a tomato sauce usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. I don't eat pasta all that often. This will serve as my appetizer before I hit the main course. This is a BIG portion! It is very good! For my entree I'm having the Pan Seared Salmon which is "hand cut" salmon with zesty orange glaze served over mashed potatoes with seasonal vegetables (broccoli). Add LOTS of crushed red pepper. Nod that's "LOTS." This is spicy! My kinda spicy! The plate is nice and hot! I like the presentation. This tastes great! What a great meal here!

No worries...we were trying to get out as quickly as possible as soon as the drinks came. I ordered an old fashioned and my husband got a bourbon on the rocks. Between the 5 minutes it took to get to us, his ice was half melted which meant they already likely had this poured and just snagged it for him and my old fashioned tasted like pure sugar. I couldn't taste the bourbon and I tried my husbands drink and it was so watered down the bourbon color was almost clear. They brought his glass out and the waiter noticed something and immediately took it back and they seemed to have poured it into another glass which then watered it down even more!!! I got the lobster bisque as an appetizer and WOW, I don't even know why they call it a bisque. It was obviously cooked in a seafood broth and overly salty as opposed to the cream base of an actual bisque. My husband ordered the filet mignon. This cut of beef is perfect all on its own but they brought it out drenched in a soup of a tangy tasting sauce that covered the plate. You couldn't even taste the steak. The mashed potatoes looked so undercooked just by looking at them. When I asked how they were, he compared them to an instant mix box kind. I got the bolognese pasta. Again, no seasoning whatsoever for being a bolognese which should have herbs and spices. The service was lackluster, we got a water refill once, the waiter rushed everytime he was at our table and was even rushing writing stuff down. THE WORST PART was the ambience. I was hoping to have a nice date night on a Tuesday night, instead all the tables are so crammed together that you can't even hear your own thoughts. We were having to sort of yell back and forth just to have a conversation. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! Go across the street to Flemings or Capital Grill in Hartford. A LOT more quality and peace for almost the same price. DO NOT RECOMMEND NOT EVEN FOR DRINKS!!!
