I truly can't thank this place enough. Finding them felt like an answer to my prayers…read more I drove over an hour to get here, and I would gladly drive even farther if I had to. Every single person I met was so kind, compassionate, and genuinely cared about my dog. You can tell they do this because they love helping animals and the people who love them. My dog had severe Stage 4 periodontal disease and was in so much pain. He needed a lot of dental work and many extractions. I had been calling vet after vet, but every estimate was far beyond what I could afford. As someone with a limited income, I felt completely helpless. It broke my heart knowing he was suffering while I was desperately trying to figure out how to help him. This clinic gave me hope when I felt like I had run out of options. Not only did they take amazing care of my dog, but their prices made it possible for me to get him the treatment he desperately needed. Even with all of his extractions, the total was less than $600, including antibiotics and pain medication. I honestly couldn't believe it. Because of this clinic, my dog no longer has to live in constant pain. That means more to me than words can ever express. Thank you for giving people like me the chance to care for the pets we love so much without having to go into overwhelming debt. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do. You truly made a difference in both my dog's life and mine. I will never forget your kindness, and I recommend this clinic with all my heart.

But when it appeared to be growing we decided to look into getting it removed. Our groomer recommended Placerville Animal Surgery for low cost and good results. Results have been fantastic. Our dog was fully recovered immediately after the surgery and hasn't looked back. She is as happy as a new puppy despite being over 8 years old!No problems whatsoever, hair growing back nicely, she runs and jumps and plays as she never did before. Many thanks to this fine practice!! If the need ever arises again we will be back.

Eden and her team at Sierra Dogs are our top choice for boarding our labradoodle. A stay with…read moreSierra Dogs is akin to a vacation at a first-rate canine playground with plenty of opportunities for physical exercise, mental stimulation and social interaction. We can't help but smile and chuckle while viewing online photos of our pup running at top speed with her dog buddies or taking a break on the deck. Although we miss being apart from our wonderful companion, we are comforted knowing that our dog is supervised while happily frolicking around with dog friends and provided with professional, skilled, and nurturing care. When reunited with our dog, she retains all skills we have instilled and is clean and well-behaved. We are very thankful for Eden and her caring team!

Doesn't get any better. I got a French bulldog puppy and needed some help training him. I sent him…read moreto Sierra dogs for a 6 week board and train program and it was the best decision I ever made. Eden promptly responded to my initial email and patiently answered all of my questions. It was hard having him so far away (I am based in Palo Alto), but I would drive twice as far to have Eden take care of my dog. Each day Eden would post a photo on Facebook, so I could watch him grow and she was always available to talk on the phone if I wanted an update. Eden transformed my 3 month old puppy into a well-trained, well-socialized, very happy dog. My puppy knows how to come, sit, stay, leave it, drop it, shake, and walk on a leash. He now comes with me to work and is the best-trained dog in my office. Now that my puppy has graduated from board and train, I look forward to using Sierra Dogs as a boarding place. (FYI: It's a convenient location for people who are heading up to Tahoe for the weekend.) I highly recommend Sierra Dogs!

So many glowing reviews here on Yelp. THIS ONE IS A CAUTION. I scheduled an appt. with this…read moregroomer because of the reviews. No time in a cage sounded good to me, and I made contact through Yelp's site. We arrived on time and learned that the groomer had contacted our vet to get proof of a Rabies vaccination. This felt a little intrusive because I told the groomer that I would happily provide proof. No big deal, so I let it go. We arrived with a photo of my dog's breed (Cavapoo) written requests/instructions on what I hoped for, and notations on the photo. "Not too short please; left about 3/4 of an inch. Please keep her muzzle full and round. DO NOT CUT OFF HER EYELASHES." "That's too short! You'll be back in 4 weeks, and that is not a photo of a your dog's breed." The groomer said. It absolutely was a photo of my dog's breed, but it wasn't worth pressing. We were told that we would receive a call "half an hour before she is ready." We shopped and killed time. Two hours passed and concerned, we called to see if we could retrieve our pup. "She is not ready yet. She is giving me a hard time trimming around her face. We'll call you when ready; about a half hour." The thought of my little girl being on the table over two hours was concerning. We tried to do some more shopping but were too worried. We called after more time had passed. "Another 25 minutes! We'll call you." We drove over and knocked on the locked door. It was partially opened and we were told "Another 25 minutes!" We waited another 20 minutes. "That's enough!" my husband said. "Let's get our dog." We knocked on the locked door and when it was again only cracked open, we made our way in. We paid with a tip. The GROOMER DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB ON OUR DOG'S BODY, but HER LITTLE FACE WAS RUINED! Her eyelashes were gone! Her muzzle was shaved from her eyes to the tip of her nose and was shaved so close that she had razor burn. Her chin was trimmed flat. Her head was shaved so it looked like she had a Neanderthal bulge. It will grow out, but I am heartsick that I put my puppy through hours of grooming, and angry that her beautiful little face was so horribly altered. THIS GROOMER TALKS AT YOU AND DOES NOT LISTEN OR TAKE INTO ACCOUNT YOUR WISHES! It's been two weeks since this occurred. I wanted to wait 'till I wouldn't be writing this in anger, but BEWARE!

I called Cheroane the same day and she made me an appointment for first thing the next morning. Not only did she do a great job grooming this somewhat unruly and aggressive dog, but she discovered a paw injury the shelter had overlooked and also made me aware of possible dental issues based on the dog's behavior. The dog also had dry skin and hair loss issues so she gave me some really helpful tips/info on that too. I'm so appreciative of her help and will definitely be taking my "new" old dog back to her.
