I came in today because I had got a healthcare and law-enforcement perk to join active and fit which we all know is an amazing discounted rate to join a gym so why not take advantage of something your company offers you to get healthy and have mental stress relief, just to be told your membership was not valid and the person who's trying to help you basically pawn it off on the person next to him and dismisses you the next person who comes in, So finally asked for a manger seems to feel like this was taking to much of there time, Thankfully the manager Carlos is my savior His last name is a little hard to pronounce, but went above. I mean, ladies and gentlemen above and beyond to help figure out why our membership was not being active which I guess as his job but the empathy of my frustration and the hoops jumping to resolve this he watching me igoing back back-and-forth with the front desk, who stated they couldn't help was telling me to take screenshots of what was popping up on the computer for him on their side, but also shown somebody else's behind the screenshot of somebody else's membership and all their personal information I found was very concerning not that I would care to call whomever was behind the digital screen, but I don't know in healthcare we're very private. We don't want anybody to see our information, but I greatly appreciate the management trying to help out after seeing the frustration in the many phone calls trying to figure out why on a Monday when you are fully dressed and ready to enter the gym and you're happy you know you're motivated just for somebody to kill your vibe in your first five seconds of walking in the door. I think they should teach a little bit more of customer service Or some fake it to you make!!! Wow does it pain me to write this but management has removed the previous water massage beds for…read morenew ones that only allow you to use for ten mins once a day. That's it. Ten mins a day is all we get. This was never an issue previously. I understand wanting to limit usage so folks don't hog the machines, but considering this is the ONE thing we have (no showers, no classes, no private workout rooms, no pool, no sauna, the list goes on) I'm disappointed that it's been cut down to this measly amount. We literally pay extra for these services and can't even get this right. I would cancel membership but my trainer Brian is amazing and the staff and manager are all phenomenal. Whoever is running this gym at the top needs to get it together -- quickly.

My back has been an issue for decades and I thought that I'd tried everything - chiropractics, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, accupressure ... you name it. I'd resolved to just live with the nearly constant discomfort and occasional debilitating spasms. However, Gabriele has changed my perspective by focusing on carefully building core strength while not aggravating other issues. She listened carefully to my problems, asked about my desired outcomes and she designs each workout specifically for my physiology and my state of progress. The space is large, and it has a lot to offer. I continued paying for my membership because I genuinely enjoyed the martial arts classes which, in my opinion, is the entire point of this gym's existence. The machines, however, haven't really changed since they opened. It wasn't until after the 10-year anniversary that they finally brought in some new equipment. Now for the part that's personal: management. I cannot stress this enough my PERSONAL experience with management was awful. I was fired after being late to work because I had just been in a car accident. The operations manager at the time, Hannah Amayo (who has since resigned), made my life miserable. She and Kate Hansen teamed up to fire me, and it absolutely broke me at the time because I truly needed that job after being T-boned on my way home. As for the facility itself: the gym was always dirty, bathrooms were frequently broken (sinks, toilets, blow dryers), and equipment constantly needed repairs that never seemed to happen. Maintenance was almost nonexistent from what I saw. I know management has changed since 2019, but I found this review sitting in my drafts and figured it was finally time to post it. Needless to say, I eventually canceled my membership because why would I pay over $100/month for a gym that isn't properly maintained? Instead of opening new locations, they should at least invest in the ones they already have.

They said I can sign up at another location with my membership. I called the concord location and was told by the trainer who was male that I have to "Transfer" my membership to their location. What is the point of the black membership then. I asked him I thought my membership allows me to go to any planet fitness even to use the classes because that's what Walnut Creek told me. He said no not for the classes and I would have to transfer my home membership to them. Yeah no. Not doing that. It seems like recently word has come back out that this place is the spot to lift in Concord, as I've noticed it's been getting busier over the last few months. With that being said, even at 6 pm I never have trouble finding a free machine or bench. Unfortunately (not sure if this is correlated) prices have gone up and a monthly membership is 80 dollars, and this is just to lift. Of course it is cheaper if you get a 3 or 12 month membership, but I can no longer personally justify spending so much on a no frills gym.
