Space is a bit small, but the menu is extensive and food is amazing! We tried the egg breakfast sandwich with bacon, pistachio kunafa French toast, Smashburger, and both the pistachio and pumpkin spice lattes. Everything was great, especially the service! My favorites were the kunafa French toast and the french fries which came with the Smashburger. Love supporting locally-owned small businesses, and hope to be back again!
Came in to try their bakery goods and chopped cheese. Service was ok, not rude but indifferent, plenty of people on their mobile devices. Lots of natural light. I frequent this establishment because of the food, not the service, which can be mediocre. The ambiance during my visits, has a busy vibe, ii's loud because of the number of patrons and size of the dining area. Mediterranean Chopped Cheese: Ground beef, aleppo pepper, cheddar, topped with tomato, sans garlic mayo. Would not purchase the sandwich again. The taste was off.
Wow! This is the best cafe I have ever been to. The pastries are absolutely delicious and the coffee tasted so good. The workers are super kind and welcoming. We tried the Nutella cinnamon Roll and the strawberry croissant, both were filling and delicious. I thought it was going to be sweet but not at all! It was an amazing combination with a delicious cream. Definitely worth a stop by to try their desserts and food. We also got the passion fruit cream puff and it was the best cream puff we have ever tried.
I had really high hopes for MQR because at some point I read on Reddit that this was one of the best burgers the poster ever had in NOVA. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries, and let me tell you, this was not one of the best burgers I've ever had in NOVA. The burger patty was very thin and small compared to the size of the bun. It also didn't feel like a hot burger, but rather lukewarm. People love to talk about how Five Guys burger is super expensive, but I would say this burger was more expensive, and no where near the size of a Five Guys burger. The fries weren't bad, but nothing particularly special. Maybe because they also felt lukewarm. My husband got a flat white, which he said was very bitter, so he had to add sugar. I didn't order a pastry, but have heard good things about those. As far as space, there's a fair amount of tables and seating. Upon entering, I noticed a strong smell of cleaning solution, which always throws off my enjoyment of the food and sense of taste. Staff were fine, but I had to ask for one of the tables to be wiped down so we could eat there. Not sure if it's the table material, but it still didn't seem all that clean after being wiped down.
I visited on a Sunday and the sweet plates at this cafe are honestly probably one of the best I've had in the DMV area. The Dubai cake and Kunafa French toast were absolutely delicious! I'm not a big fan of overly sweetened desserts but MQR does it right! The items were sweet but not too sweet! I ordered the French toast to go and it was still so delicious so I can't even imagine how much more delicious it will be when dining in. I'll have to make a visit back for the chopped cheese as well!
This place makes me wants to move to Annandale! They open late today because of Ramadan. They have such a yummy selection of food I just want to try everything! This place is a small restaurant, not too big but it'll be perfect for a breakfast date! Service was amazing! The server was so sweet and friendly. I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries! Fries were crispy, hot, cook to perfection! Burger were great too! I'm OBSSESSED with the pistachio latte/coffee because it's not too sweet, and it is DELICIOUS! The beef bacon were crunchy and delicious. The kunafa french toast... WHAT is this? because i'm also addicted! It is not too sweet but also have a side of sweetener syrup in case you want it to be sweeter. It's so fluffy and creamy inside and soft, I was in heaven! I will deff come back here to try all the other menu items!
Came to this cafe after hearing about it on Instagram. It's a small, quaint spot, so once you sit down you'll be pretty close to other customers. The food comes out relatively quickly, so you won't be kept waiting. I think overall the food was okay, we got the levantine bagel, the kunafe french toast, the labneh toast, hummus with spiced beef, and za'atar fries. We liked the za'atar fries the most, it was fried nicely with za'atar flavor. The hummus was fairly standard hummus, nothing to phone home about. The toast had a delicate flavor, nothing was the star ingredient. The french toast was nice and sweet and fluffy, a pretty conservative french toast - if you like sweets, you'll like this one. And the levantine bagel was also fairly good. Overall, it was a nice cafe but rather crowded. Maybe wait for the hype to die down, the crowds and recent social media hype will not make me return in a hurry.
All of the food is fresh. I had the Kunafa French toast and biscoff latte. I love the latte and the French toast was okay. i kept smelling amazing food and I wished I could've gotten the sandwich. So I did go back for the biscoff latte and to try the sandwich. I ended up getting the cardmom latte which was also amazing and the Mediterranean chopped cheese which was so tasty. I finished every last bite.

There are many tables (regular and high top) and a bar area in the back. Unfortunately, most of their tables are not accessible to outlets, so this place seems more a chill and talk space, which it is perfect for. Service is nice, quick, and attentive. Their system with running food and cleaning up is fantastic. FOOD: ~Iced Americano (4/5): solid ~Biscoff latte (4/5): good flavor and could taste the coffee. Couldn't get much biscoff flavor unless I got a piece of the crumble on top ~Kunafa french toast (3/5): it was fine. It was definitely missing the umph of flavor. But very pretty for photos ~Harissa egg sandwich (4/5): great flavor and ratio of ingredients. Egg could have used a touch more salt, but otherwise pretty good ~Breakfast potatoes (2/5): Came with the sandwich. Was bland, soggy, and overall not great ~Harissa french fries (5/5): May be personal preference, but the fries were nice and crispy, and I loved the seasonings on top. A little spice, acid, and salty flavors. ~French Fries (4/5): so nice and crispy. Solid choice This place is cute and maybe would be open to trying other things on the menu. It's quite a hike for me, but if you're in the area, it's worth a try.
Stopped by here for a late breakfast after my wife saw it on a TikTok. We placed an order for a Levantine Bagel, a Harissa Egg and Cheese Bagel, the Kunafa French Toast (main reason), a Pistachio Latte, and a Biscoff Latte. Pick up time was only 15 minutes despite being absolutely slammed inside the restaurant. The place had a good amount of seating and every seat was filled. The Kunafa French Toast was pretty hefty and with the syrup, it wasn't too sweet but had a great crust. The Levantine Bagel came with zaatar cream cheese and honey which was so good. Probably my favorite thing we got. The Harissa EC bagel was advertised with beef bacon but it didn't come with it. Sandwich was ok but was definitely missing the beef bacon. Both lattes were good, also not too sweet. I would absolutely come back for that Levantine Bagel alone but I want to try the rest of their food menu as well.
Wow, this is an amazing experience! We came here around 11 AM on Saturday and expected to have to wait but although it was busy, we were able to get a seat right away. We split a bunch of things, including their famous French toast, which is definitely worth the hype. I got a cardamom iced latte as well as the Levantine bagel with za'atar cream cheese (I'm about to put honey on every bagel I have from now on) we also tried the chicken Shawarma, the chopped cheese, and a couple of pastries. The chopped cheese was probably my favorite Although the guava pastry was really delicious as well. The chicken Shawarma had some kind of seasoning on it that I wasn't a fan of, but that's just me.
My husband and I went to check out this place over the weekend. It was busy and nearly full, which made it kind of loud. The place was cozy and gave cafe kind of vibes. There is plenty of parking in the plaza area. I ordered the harissa bagel (although it looked like it was on a brioche bun instead of a bagel?) and the French toast. My husband got the chicken shawarma. The harissa bagel came with a side of roasted potatoes. I was kind of expecting an actual bagel since I saw it under the bagel menu instead of a brioche bun, but maybe I miscommunicated and didn't specify. So a heads up there is a difference. The egg was cooked well, the bacon was crispy, but I didn't get a lot of harissa flavor. The potatoes were also good! The French toast was the star dish. It was so fluffy and not overly sweet. It came with a side whipped cream and syrup. I feel like it's a lot bigger than it looks. It was def a dish to share! My husband said the chicken shawarma was packed with potatoes, but he liked the chicken. We'd be back to try other items!

This isn't a quiet spot, so you have to speak loud to talk with your dining companions. The low down on THE toast: it's a thick slice of soft, sweet bread with a pistachio and sugar crumble. yum! You dip it in this light orange blossom syrup, which complimented it very well. I loved eating it with whipped cream. It's a large serving, so I would come with 1-2 other people to share the dish! We also ordered salad, harissa fries and cappuccino from the counter. Skip the fries! they weren't crisp at all and tasted like it just came from the freezer. It could've used a touch of salt as it was quite flavorless and the harissa didn't add to it. Wasted calories. The salad we ordered was just basic lettuce and cucumbers thrown together like you made it at home. My mistake for getting this but I wanted a serving of veggies to come with our decadent order! The feta cheese was nice and light though, not as chalky as what you usually get at the grocery store. My partner also ordered a sandwich and it was nothing to write home about. I asked if I could get a bear drawing on my coffee like how they have it on their cute hot chocolate drink. But the barista said the coffee is a different consistency, so latte art wouldn't work on this one. She graciously still tried and it was adorable. But the cappuccino was quite milky and had less coffee taste.

Love it Their food tastes good I got their Smokey Pastrami sandwich today So good! And I believe they are halal The only thing I hope is if they can make their lattes hotter. It can ve room temp/luke warm ish. But please make it really hot. Other than this amazing food, and service and lots of sitting areas read more

Was having lunch nearby and my friend and I got heavily influenced to stop by MQR cafe and get the Kunafa French Toast (I'm obsessed with pistachio). Was the bread super light and fluffy? Yes. But other than that it tasted like any other fluffy French toast with some pistachio topping. The cream inside didn't really have an obvious flavor and the whipped cream side wasn't really necessary. If it were not for the orange syrup I would say it was overall pretty bland and average. The portion was huge, but I probably wouldn't drop another almost $20 on it. I'd be interested in trying their drinks next time! read more

I heard about this place through social media. I ordered the Kunafa French toast, Mediterranean chopped cheese and the Za'atar Fries. The French toast was my favorite. The bread was crispy and the filing was perfect. There was also a orange blossom syrup that you could drizzle over top but was not overpowering the other flavors. The Mediterranean chopped cheese was a filling sandwich. The meat was seasoned with aleppo pepper. The bread was nice and soft. I was not a fan of the fries. I thought they were overpriced as well as over seasoned. read more

We stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon and had the cinnamon bun with Nutella, pistachio croissant and the raspberry cheesecake with our coffee order. We were absolutely blown away with all three pastries - truly outstanding! Our server Shahrazad was extremely attentive and friendly & made our visit special. MQR = a "must visit" spot near Columbia Pike ! read more

Relatively new cafe, I can tell it's already becoming a very popular location. Price wise it's more on the higher end for coffee. Service was quick and there's a lot of seating space and a vast menu! I liked the Biscoff Latte way more than the Cardamom Latte. Don't know if i would come again anytime soon but not a bad option! read more
Saw so much hype about this new cafe and wanted to try it out myself. And I'm glad we did. The restaurant is located in Falls Church and there is plenty of parking, although there are a lot of new restaurants opening in that shopping center so it might start getting more crowded! The space is really cozy - decent amount of tables but we went on a Saturday morning and it was filled. Some people were not able to get tables. But it seems like a grab and go cafe as well. Their menu is pretty widespread with their specialty cardamom and pistachio latte. Their pistachio latte is very delicious and actually has an authentic flavor - not the artificial kind. Their kunafa French toast is very decadent and sweet. You have to get one of those. It comes with a butter style cream and syrup. It's a must try. Highly recommend! read more

It was a packed Sunday morning but the service was still good! You order at the counter, take a number, and then they bring you your food. They also gave us all waters which was nice! Now the food: we walked out wondering if this place has a michelin star. The French toast alone was AMAZING and very tasty. Definitely large to feed multiple mouths. We had some other really yummy items but this place got us here for this toast and it didn't disappoint. read more
Food was very very good service was also very good. Nice little coffee cafe we tried all 3 specialty coffees and enjoyed the flavors. For food we ordered the egg sandwich it did not disappoint. Went here yesterday morning around 11:30 and it was poppin!! Almost every table was taken but we were able to snag one. The staff is attentive and kind, they have great energy and recommended some popular items when we asked. It also only took about 10 min for our food to come out. *BTW this place does serve halal meat (all halal, and beef bacon) :) I ordered the hot chocolate and halloumi platter and my guest ordered the peach iced tea and chopped cheese sandwich. I loved the hot chocolate, and lots of cafes these days don't offer you the cup and saucer for dine in, so I was happy to see that; when you go to a cafe you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance for a while, so you want to be comfy. The halloumi platter was filling, just minor improvements would have made it better - I wish they asked what style you want your eggs, bc my eggs were a bit runny for my liking, the salad doesnt have any dressing, and the potatoes were just ok; however, the 2 pieces of halloumi and the sourdough was lovely. My guest loved the chopped cheese and after adding some sugar to the peach iced tea also loved that. In the hallway near the bathrooms, there's bar style seating with about 5 outlets for people who want to work from home or study. It's just enough space for your food and laptop, not a whole setup just fyi for people who like to use more room. 2 bathrooms (clean), and plenty of parking since it's in a shopping plaza (next to orangetheory and taco zocalo). I enjoyed each of the entrees I got. The MQR breakfast originally comes over easy eggs, but I asked for them scrambled, hence why it looks like an omelette in the picture. The French toast was interesting, it comes with a simple syrup instead of regular syrup and a sweetened whipped cream. I dined at the café on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded. It was also pretty quiet. I will come back to stay longer. read more

MQR Cafe is a small cafe that offers coffee and tea, an all-day breakfast menu, burgers, sandwiches, sides, and pastries. We came here in the morning to get some breakfast to go, and ordered: +a guava + cheese croissant - this can be warmed up, by request; however, the edges were warm, but the interior was still cold/not heated through +classic b.e.c. - with beef bacon, egg, and American cheese on your choice of plain, everything, or sesame; we opted for the everything; it's nice to see that they use beef bacon! This was definitely a larger bagel sandwich, as the bagel itself was pretty bread-y +cardamom latte - requested this to be extra hot, but it was just regular temperature; flavor was a bit weak and not much cardamom flavor to it The staff were very friendly and welcoming; there is only one individual who was working the cashier as well as being the barista, so the drink orders do take some time. In addition, when the food items come out from the kitchen, it's not called out right away, as, literally, there's only one person manning the front area, so your food may just be sitting there for a bit; we realized the bagel sandwich was taking a bit long, but, luckily, I took a gander and the order was just sitting there... I most likely would avoid their coffee beverages, but I do want to try their burgers and sandwiches the next time. There are a good number of eating, both regular tables and table tops. We saw the sign for MQR Cafe going up shortly before they opened when shopping next door at the Harris Teeter grocery store. Hummus with veggies is a large plate of ground chickpeas topped with tahini, spiced cilantro, pesto, and sliced tomato and cucumber. We also had two sandwiches. The Mediterranean Chopped Cheese, think adult "sloppy joe" with a great blend of Middle Eastern spices. The Chicken Shawarma is similar, like a wrap filled with nicely spiced chicken and garlic sauce and nicely toasted. Both sandwiches were large, stuffed with plenty of meat and veggies, and were generous with the seasonings. The service was fast and polite and everything tasted fresh. Picked up a sandwich here after a run to Harris Teeter next door. First, I was impressed with what they did with this storefront, with a black and white tile floor and an upscale vibe. It's a cool place to sit and have a bite. This visit I just got one sandwich, the Smoky Pastrami. I got it to go, and it was ready quite quickly and nicely packed to survive the short drive home. It was a very nice sandwich, with toasted sourdough, just enough cheese and fresh red onion that complimented the ample pastrami well. I came here specifically for this toast and it did not disappoint! The texture of was crispy yet soft and it was not overly sweet despite the cream inside and orange hint syrup to pour over. It was also a decent size, perfect to split between 2 people. They also had unique drinks flavors I will definitely come back to try such as biscoff latte, Dubai chocolate latte, and I am always a sucker for good pistachio latte which they also have on the menu.
