My first visit. Reportedly has the best Reuben in Metro Detroit. Um, not for me. That said, it is a damn fine Reuben. Perfectly toasted. Wonderfully melted Swiss cheese. A generous portion of very good corned beef. But I want either more sauerkraut, or more spicy sauerkraut. My one gripe ... no napkins in the bag. Will I return? Perhaps. I want to try Lou's.

I had to stop going to lous because their prices have gotten out of control. This place is so good and much better price. My new goto spot for conrned beef sandwiches. They also have subs and various other items you can order. I also got a banana pudding. That was also amazing. I can't wait to comeback for their twister sub. Can't remember the name but my cousin ordered it and swears its the best. Soooon.

Stop the presses! It's late but I need my fellow yelpers to go and visit Mr. Corned Beef this week or anytime you want the best corned beef Eva! I'm not going to hold you guys up. I'm just minding my business when this place hit my radar tonight. From the first bite I was all into the succulent tasting corned beef. They are my favorite place of the month in my eyes. The size and quality was A1. Mr Corned Beef knows his corned beef! Also it was fifteen minutes from closing. The young lady at the counter was nice and the food was Any place that finishes strong at the end of the day is a winner in my book. Thanks Mr. Corned Beef for a satisfying my taste for something so delicious and filling..........

This place is expensive but really good. I prefer the steak and cheese sub over everything else.

I had the twister corn beef and pastrami and Swiss cheese with mustard on onion roll

I love this place anytime I stop in I'm never disappointed happy to also hear that have a 2nd location . The sandwich could honestly make two more sandwiches. The meat was tastefully seasoned. I'm actually thinking about going today. I have been about five times and I'm always recommending restaurant on 7 mile rd and Southfield for the best corn beef . I honestly wish you guys will get fries .

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. There are 2 types of subs here: Italian, and "Other Subs", so you know that this shop sprang from the vibrant Italian community that once populated Detroit. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). These layered Gonella Italian Subs are layered with a variety of Italian meats (Hard Salami, Salami Cotto, Mortadella, Smoked Ham and Capicola), provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Gonella's homemade dressing. Soft or hard roll. Extras: Peppers (+.50) Cheese (+.50) - (Turkey is reserved for the "Other Subs). 6 Layers Meat, 1 Layer Cheese --- $8 8 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $9 12 Layers Meat, 2 Layer Cheese --- $12 14 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $13 18 Layers Meat, 3 Layer Cheese --- $14 The subs are heavy and delicious. Soft sub buns, tons of stacks of meat, lettuce and tomato or not. No one goes hungry after a sub here. Some deli spots tend to skimp on the protein, but not this place. My team members favorite is the Italian, 6 stacks. I usually will go for a turkey or chicken stack. They offer up to 18 stacks, haven't tried that yet.

Honestly, I'm just…read moresick of paying over $15 for an omelette and hash browns, and Hygrade is very affordable and quality. For one, I'm a huge Pastrami fan, and Hygrade is one of the few spots in the area that have it and don't overcharge for it (*cough Louie's *cough Frank's), so I always get their Pastrami omelette with hash browns. The portion is huge and it's under $12. It's my favorite thing to get for breakfast in the entire city. Hygrade feels very much like a diner, and that's what I love about it. Like this isn't some spot for a brunch extravaganza. You can go here for a nice breakfast or lunch and eat in peace. I find it's an ideal place to get work done due to its low-key atmosphere. The waitresses are very attentive and quick, helped by the fact that I've never seen the place packed. I'm a sucker for old school Detroit and Hygrade just oozes that. The place gets the job done and if you go once, you will go back.

I have been a big fan of corned beef and pastrami for years but my go to is on the other side of the city not to far from Dearborn, there is a couple other delis in eastern market area, one I like and the other I think is outrageous and the people there are rude, well today I was in the mood for a good corned beef on rye, got looking at a few apps I have and I come across Champs which is in Gratiot Central market where I go to buy certain meats to grill and smoke, but I never have gone there to buy prepared food, well I'll tell you it was Very Good ! The place is simple ,it is clean, they have a cool old Ford truck in there well the have half of it but none the a nice place , and the lady that waited on me was very cool, I decided I wanted Pastrami Indian it was excellent the , it was not greasy which is what I like to see it was heated just right and got slaw on it and my bread wasn't a soggy mess, I thought the price point was very good for my sandwich which also came with 2 pickles that were good and my drink, And the info I read is this is a small business this isn't corporate owned this is someone or family doing it cause they love please try support small business they need it now more than ever , I thought it was very good I hope you do as well.
