We discovered this place when visiting frequently to Mayo Clinic. We were always impressed with the food. The shrimp is fresh and hot when ordered. We always happen to be in town for the 30 shrimp special on Tuesday or Thursday. The staff is always helpful friendly and they are constantly busy working. Never time for idle hands. We used to do drive thru but once we went inside we loved the atmosphere and there was always a nice group of people eating and enjoying their meal. Then one visit , they were closed . We were not happy campers . The place was being remodeled and each time we visited we would ride by to see if it was back in business. Today May 21, we passed by routinely and there was life there and a sign saying open now . How delighted. We checked into our hotel and now we're on our way to our favorite place for 30 shrimp because as always it's Thursday. I already know the food will be delicious. Just glad they are opened. For the best deal in town. I first went to this location in 2022. I just found out two two weeks ago that this location is temporary closed. The food here was good, but the service was slightly slow that. I guess it was because it was during the week. I decided to herefor lunch that particular day. Parking here was slightly difficult to find, being that it's a shared parking lot. But, after a couple minutes circling the parking lot, I did manage to find a parking spot. The ambiance within this restaurant is just regular and nothing to brag about. Basa The Basa was fried and tasted so fresh. It was seasoned perfectly which tasted delicious. Cole Slaw The Cole slaw was delicious. I'm not really a coke slaw person but was told theirs was good. The establishment itself looks like a converted fast food joint so it has that vibe. I ordered the regular sized combo for $10 which came with 6 shrimp and 2 small catfish filets. The catfish was surprisingly good even though I'm guessing it was frozen (but I could be wrong). Shrimp were decent - not popcorn and not butterflied so they were satisfying. When I turned the car off to walk to the door, a bunch of people pulled up and hurried inside before me. So, I've probable passed by this place a thousand times since moving down here almost 2 years ago. I kept saying to myself, it seems Long John Silver-ish, but not. Conclusion: I think it's safe to say that this is not the place you go to for fried mushrooms, but I couldn't help taking a chance - I LOVE FRIED MUSHROOMS.
