This tow company is completely unreasonable and money hungry. They came inside my gated apartment complex and towed my car while I was parked right in front of the property management office. I had just come back from chemotherapy and only parked for 5 minutes in a red zone as I was given permission to do so. Property management knew my situation and had no issue with it, yet the tow truck still took my car. I even explained to the company that I was given permission to park there by my property management, as it's the only way I can safely unload items in my fragile state after treatment. I also told them how sick I was, but they showed absolutely no sympathy and kept demanding their money. Thankfully, my property management stepped in and called Mr. C, who agreed to have the fees waived and got my car released. While I did get my vehicle back, the way this company operates feels extremely predatory and heartless. read more

Practical vultures just when I parked and left my car for several minutes to unload items for a photoshoot. When I came back from a multi story building after several minutes to grab more things it was taken off the lot without cause. When I called explaining the situation the dispatch was completely disrespectful and despite me saying that I had a dashcam to confirm the time frame of the parking she disregarded it and being completely rude blaming me for the situation. Then when I asked how much it was to get it out of the yard. It was over 400 dollars. Like I'm sorry 400 dollars on a Sunday afternoon when the banks are closed. I called the police because no one authorized a tow truck to remove my vehicle from the private property which is a 55+ senior living community. I reported my vehicle stolen. Because we had an eye-witness that stated it was a white tow truck, the officer checked the database several times to make sure it was not in the tow database. It was not in the tow database & tow companies are required to report the tow within one-hour; and since it was already almost 3 hours when it was towed, the officer made a stolen vehicle report. I also called local towing companies who all verified via my license plate & vin that they did not tow my vehicle. I called Mr. Cs towing company on 3 separate occasions & each time they confirmed they did not tow my car. Then a neighbor was kind enough to share their video footage of the tow truck. I was able to make out the phone number on the truck & it was in fact Mr. C's & the same # I had already called 3 times So I called Mr. C's again and at this point I was shaking but I told them, you lied to me, you did tow my car I have video footage it was your tow truck & has the same phone # I've been calling. The girl rudely replied, "you'll have to pay $480 to get the vehicle out of the tow yard". I told her absolutely not, & asked her why did you tow my vehicle? She said, "because it was parked illegally". Not true. I had my vehicle parked right in front of my elderly parent's mobile home unit to take groceries out & a 40 pack of water bottles, when I went back to my car about 45 minutes later to get the water bottles... my car was gone. And I panicked because I needed my car to pick up my parent from the dialysis clinic I go to the tow yard in Huntington Park that same night and the person behind the non-see-through reception window tells me he will not release my car without me paying the $480. Anyway, I left the tow yard because I realized it was a scam, I was being scammed and figured I will return with a police officer in the morning, besides my vehicle has already been reported stolen. The next morning I found out that in September of 2022, Mr. Cs towed a vehicle from a different unit, so now I have a victim witness. I called Mr. C's to give them a last chance before I filed criminal charges and told them I have all this evidence that what they did was illegal per CA vehicle code 22513. They said they didn't care they "heard it all before, your threats aren't helping you", and I still need pay to get my car back and all of a sudden the fee was $342 instead of the $480. He also said $342 before 5pm or it would be more after. So again, scam scam scam!!! The HP police officers told me to pay the money and take them to court. How are the officers allowing this scam? I told the officers this is a scam and I want to file a criminal complaint. This tow company drives around unsolicited like a shark in this senior citizen community to snatch cars & force payment to release the vehicle. Finally the police officer told me to wait outside and he talked to the tow people and as a "favor" to the officer they released my car without payment. The tow person made me sign a receipt and they didn't give me a copy. I regret signing it because it's a scam what they tried to do to me but I need my car and signed out of desperation and under duress. I am grateful and thanking God, the neighbors and the officers that helped me because I can't afford the fee... BUT IT IS STILL A SCAM, they can't be doing this to people, especially in an already low-income area and senior citizen community it's criminal of them to do this. I pray they get caught someday or at least pray that no one else falls victim to them. Anyway, thanks to my neighbors that told me about the car being towed and the other neighbor sharing their video footage and the other who told me which neighbor is friends with the tow guy. Also, to the neighbor that is friends with the tow guy, you are unkind, I'm pretty sure you tipped him off to go take my car. I wonder if you get some type of payment? The thing is I am allowed to park there temporarily for putting shopping away, getting parent or passengers in and out etc. Before we were allowed to park overnight but you complained and it resulted in parking signs installed everywhere and no overnight parking was enforced- that's fine no biggie! But that was not the case in my situation, I was there temporarily and I do that at least 3 times a week on days of dialysis treatment and the park manager knows that! And I don't plan to change my routine for your convenience! And as a matter of fact I will park there again in the same spot as needed. Our vehicle was towed away early morning for no valid reason. It was parked in our business's lot without blocking anyone or even violating any sign(s). This 'company' was called in by a random individual and they were quick to assume they had rights to have our car towed out of our own lot. We got in contact with them, they insisted we pay their $300+ fees & what not when we had our right of ways to park there all year long if we wanted to. We got in contact with "Brian" at the HP location who totally didn't understand the situation and chose to be arrogant about it all. He was no help towards this issue at all when trying to simply get in contact with a manager about it. Brian chose to be stubborn about the situation every time we'd give a call. We get it, you guys may deal with people who complain about their vehicles every day, but UNDERSTANDING one simple situation isn't rocket science. Like c'mon, give the car up, we got our right of ways, with paperwork, camera footage & all. Anyway, it's been a waste of time and cost of money trying to get around to simply retrieve our car for THEIR mistake, AND now we've got to deal with body damages that we did NOT cause. Luckily we took photos before this all came about. But thanks to Yamilet at the South Gate location who best assisted us in making this situation fair and simple as it should've been in the first place. *We will be filing a claim with their Fleet Operations Manager to have this situated and hope to have a solution for the damages. Theft recovery by police, brought to Mr. C's. I was notified 5 days later. Mr. C's would not let me retrieve anything from the car or inspect it as I was told to do by AAA Insurance. They wanted $850 in fees paid first. I notified AAA who told me I had to pay the fees then release the car to AAA. This makes no sense, what is insurance for? 33 years with AAA and they made it my problem. Mr. C's quotes $79 / day but wants $850 after 5 days? The most AAA will commit to is they will reimburse me a reasonable amount, but won't say what that is. I walked into Mr. C's with a release form I got from Downey P.D. which states "theft recovery - fees waived". Mr C's said that means P.D. fees, not theirs. I am now in a stalemate, AAA will not process the claim until they can inspect for damage. AAA says Mr. C's will not let them inspect until fees are paid, now over $2000. I do not believe AAA cannot inspect the car and I don't believe they need to because the P.D. report lists the damage to the car. It's a scam, collusion between Mr, C's and AAA to get outrageous fees paid by me instead of AAA. Stay away from both companies. read more

Over night PD lets us know it's in Cs lot. When police notified us it was only missing certain parts. When arriving to the lot it's missing more than reported. I came back to see my vehicle had been towed away after being gone for less than 25 minutes. I wasn't even from town as I'm from the Bakersfield area so I had to book a stay for the night. Called them at 10:30pm and they confirmed they had the vehicle , and if I wanted a after hours release there was a extra $80, gate fee, so waited til next morning. Walked in and the guy behind the dark glass window confirmed the vehicle was there, and gave us 15 minutes to inspect the vehicle and decide what we wanted to do. They got bums working for them. Love to steal lugnuts. Got my car towed from where I was eating 10 minutes before I walked out. Soon as I get to the tow yard in Huntington park . I had to pay which is reasonable. But when I received my vehicle I noticed a bunch in hand marks around my tires. As I check out the rims on my Mercedes I notice the lug nuts in the donut tire I had just changed (myself ) was all switched and missing one. I then check the other tires and notice my back tires are now missing 2 lug nuts each. Which if you think like a bum , makes sense to have two tires with matching pairs. I went inside , told the guy at the window about it and he explained how they take pictures when they tow, but never showed me the pictures. Luckily I had took a picture of the tire after I changed it and before I parked the car. Definitely disposing in knowing this company works with the Downey police department. Called the closest one and found out that they didn't have vehicle, the lady rudely asked me if I need the number and I said no cause I had it already. Before I could explain say why the lady hangs up on me. 2) Very rude in person. Gave them my Drivers License and they refused to give it back once they were done. When I called to see where my car was the night before, they transferred me to a different line 3 different times, just for no one to answer. I also had to ask them to repeat the address multiple times, because they did not care to give me any time of day in the phone. When I came in to get my car, the woman working at the desk took forever to help me and others. They gave me a hard time about my form of payment, even though they accept Visa, since they would not do multiple transactions, forcing me to go get cash to pay for the car. The woman working the desk also gave me attitude after I came back to pay, even after I went through the hassle to get the cash they asked for. I even watched as they gave another person ahead of me a hard time for not having the vehicle registration, even that person had called ahead of time and were told it was fine.
