This first time I've been to the new location. I had the Grilled chicken "your way" with onions and mushrooms. Wow was that Good! I'm surprised it wasn't as busy as I expected. Yiny our server was terrific. Matter of fact all the wait staff was helpful and very Friendly! This place deserves more attendance. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food. Went for dinner last night and had a very good experience. We had a couple of our old favorites (pot pie and country-fried steak and both are still good and the price remains quite fair for the quality and quantity. We missed the dinner rush, and had a chance to chat with the owner (Eric) about the move and his plans to recapture the vibe of the original location. The environment is very nostalgic of a time gone by but when it comes to the actual food, I can't say I enjoyed my experience. I went there because I was told they had peach cobbler and I've been looking for a good peach cobbler for over three years now well sorry to tell you, my journey did not end here. The quality of the dessert was less than lacking and the ice cream was like pouring milk onto potatoes, dusted with cinnamon my heart was broken. I wish them continue to success. However, nothing seemed to change. Now that I have visited the new location I have to say the service is much better, the food portions have gotten smaller, and the taste is good. We were big fans of the old location and have been very impatiently waiting for the restaurant to return. Sadly, we may not be back. Service was good and food tasted just like the old food. Patty Melt was amazing AND they fixed the fries to more of a fresh cut fry than the horrible battered fries before they closed. Here's where the joy ends. The new space is AWFUL. I mean AWWWFUL....Weird layout, sports pub feeling from the old place is gone. Actually, there were two small TV's. One off, the other stuck on the program channel. This is not as good as the Tucker version for sure. The ambience is very different and they have increased prices while limiting the menu and times of day certain foods are available. Ex: only one kind of salad until 2 PM. Women eat salad at lunchtime I would like to be able to choose. Also, the spinach and artichoke dip doesn't appear to be available to dine in - it's only on the very limited (5 or 6 item) To-Go menu. Maybe these things will change when they get some more business. My sandwich - $15! - was very unremarkable and the meat tough. Stopped in after church a little after noon on a Sunday. Wasn't too busy and as soon as we walked in we were seated. Inside looked clean, very much a Pub style restaurant. They are still taking COVID precautions with a plastic cover in between seating. Service was good. We received our food pretty quickly from when ordered, and our server was really nice. It don't seem like she was familiar with the menu though. We ordered the potato skins for appetizer and they were pretty good. The kids loved them which is huge because they typically don't like potatoes and cheese together LOL. For meals the kids got tenders and fries off the kids menu. My husband and I ordered off the summer menu . He got the ribs and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Food was meh, nothing exciting but nothing terrible! Which I was a little disappointed by. The pork was good but they gave me ketchup for the fries instead of BBQ sauce for the meat. I didn't mind it without the sauce so I didn't bother them with that. My husband wasn't crazy about the ribs either, he said that they were probably a 5. Again, not terrible just not exciting! We also had grits and a fruit cup for our baby and we couldn't feed him fast enough LOL. We did not get any dessert so I'm unable to speak to that. Also, my son and husband ordered a Sprite which they both agreed wasn't Sprite. My husband said it was probably Seltzer water or just really watered down. They were kind to replace with something else though. Overall, it was a clean and friendly restaurant, easy parking, with some outside seating. I do think this is a good place to come for drinks and to watch a game. I can tell this is a business that has graced this town for years! As far as restaurant menu options and taste, we just weren't that impressed. This was our first time here so I'm unsure of the other menu items. I have to admit I was not expecting much from a small place in a run down strip mall. But we were very pleasantly surprised. From the moment the hostess greeted me at the door, her warmth and welcoming tipped me off that the experience was going to be a good one. In addition to her, our server was excellent. Very quick and efficient without making us feel rushed. We sampled several of the drinks across our party of 8 and everyone enjoyed them. I think we tried 5 different entrees and all 8 of us had positive things to say about them. I loved my Reuben, the meatloaf got high marks, and the chicken pot pie was great. The decor isn't much, they are constrained by their location. But if you can look past that you will have a very pleasant experience. We did! read more

Our family loved the old Blue Ribbon Grill on La Vista Road--went there often for years. On Saturday, May 24, we tried the new Blue Ribbon in the strip mall off Chamblee Tucker Road, just past the bridge over Route 285. I had read that the new interior lacked the charm of the old place, and it did seem plain in comparison, but when food came -- who cared! Rueben rolls appetizer was delicious as was another one, a little kebab with mushroom and?? (can't recall, but they were good.) Three of us had prime rib - heavenly! As good as or better than at the old location. One had the meat loaf, ditto! We shared a blackberry cobbler for dessert. The service was fantastic. Coffee too. We'll be back! read more

Our server was amazing, she was very attentive and on point with the recommendations. I had the grouper sandwich, my mom had the blue ribbon burger, and my aunt had the salmon. We enjoyed everything! I left my receipt-I wish I knew our server's name, she refilled drinks without having to be flagged down, she brought out a bag with our Togo boxes. She thought about condiments we would need, and even sent out the salads as appetizers without us having to ask. A lot of people don't realize how great it is to dine out and not have to be a nuisance to your server because she thought ahead and took great care of us. The parking lot is spacious and it shares parking with the Michael's and Moe's. I called on the phone and the guy who answered the phone was very friendly! Our meals were prepared within about 10-15 minutes even though my mom ordered a well done burger! I'm very pleased with the food and service here at Blue Ribbon, I definitely got a neighborhood vibe and I really enjoyed it. The tables were sat with respect to social distancing and they even have partitions separating tables to keep germs contained. The tables are sanitized and wiped down immediately after a guest leaves and I appreciate that. Now for my food: I had the Ceasar salad it was cool I didn't taste any anchovy in there which a lot of people don't care for but I do. My aunt LOVED the balsamic vinaigrette, which we hear is made in house-she also loved the blue ribbon salad! I LOVED my grouper sandwich which is not a "fishy" fish it's more meaty and flaky and all around fantastic. The sandwich is HUGE (and deliciously crunchy) I had to take half home :) the fries are crunchy and nice I love the outer crunch. I like the tartar sauce with my sandwich and it came with a side of coleslaw in addition to fries. No frozen drinks at the bar but they do have a beer and wine selection and virgin drinks available for the kiddies and non-drinkers. I went to the new location... zero appeal... not even sure what they were thinking when they came up with this idea it doesn't feel warm and inviting like the other place did so. I definitely won't be dining in however I ordered the prime rib. It was very good. The Ajou sauce fantastic. I also got the spinach salad, which was delicious. It had a nice amount of mushrooms and bacon so that being said great and also the salad dressing was like a sweet tangy dressing that went perfect with it. I also got mashed potatoes and gravy instead of a baked potato, but I think I should've gotten a baked potato because the mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious, but I don't feel like it was enough for the meal anyway the prime rib it had fat on the other rim, but otherwise was tender and very flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious and it came with a little bit of fried onion crispy kind of shards and they were delicious. While the ambience of the new Blue Ribbon Grill is not what it formerly was on LaVista Rd., the staff couldn't be more friendly, concerned, and accommodating, and the food and bar service are great. In fact, it is one of the few places you can still get a generous serving of everything on the plate. I have had several entrees ranging from fish to meatloaf, to their brunch, and all were excellent! Brunch consisted of two eggs, grits, bacon, and fruit bowl for a most reasonal $9.99. Price range is great for the value received, and now they have added an $18 per person brunch tasting on Saturdays featuring foods from Greece, Eastern Europe, and Germany. There will be a celebration next month replete with band. They are certainly trying their best to draw crowds. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed. read more

My family and I ate here a couple weeks ago. The restaurant is in a strip mall, so it doesn't look like anything special, but we had a decent experience. The interior kind of reminds me of the set of the TV show Cheers. I will say that the pastry crust bowl was a great feature, but it was more like a chicken soup and the flavor was kind of bland. If there was more seasoning and the sauce was thicker it would be AMAZING! My husband started with a beer and I had one of their $8 cocktails. The waitress spilled some of it on the floor and didn't even clean it up. They were both good and cold. I got the half serving of the meatloaf. It was DELICIOUS! The portion was large, flavorful, and tender. The mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans were good, but nothing special. My husband and I split the brownie for dessert. One of our family members had the bread pudding andanother the oreo cheesecake. All of them were delicious, but the bread pudding really hit the spot! Scratch my earlier review. Apparently the older bald male bartender is okay wiping his runny nose and serving others with the same nasty hands. He's wearing gloves but doing it all wrong touching everything including his mucous. He basically told me f*#% you when I tried to bring this to his attention in good faith as I left the other day accordingly. He would seemingly infect anyone he comes into contact with and not care. He had the same runny nose today so I didn't stick around. He says he's ready to leave this place, anyway. If it's nasty and unsanitary on game day then imagine the other days. The place was pretty quiet on a Wednesday late afternoon, but it took a while to be seated and get my food anyway. I ordered a patty melt with fries and a sweet tea. It's a diner so of course I did! The patty melt burger was thick, perfectly medium well and delicious. The only drawback was the bread was a bit overdone. Fries were hot and crispy. My server tempted me with bread pudding after lunch (dear reader, please know that I am always tempted by bread pudding and my reviews corroborate that). It was superb! Slightly crispy edges of a cinnamon sweet bread (almost tasted like it was made from glazed donuts) topped by a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some caramel sauce. Yes, please. Very pleasant service, good food, and decent prices. Other reviews mention a change in management and some negative experiences, but I can say that wasn't my experience at all and I'm looking forward to returning. read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon to grab a bite to eat before running errands. I had been YEARS ago and could only remember that they had some strong martinis. My bf and I walked in and immediately felt out of place but we stuck around anyway. We decided to try this place for a late lunch after getting a massage right in the strip mall. We were familiar with the old spot but had never tried it. The staff was excellent even though we came in right before closing for brunch. We ordered the country fried steak and their BLT with avocado and egg added. It may have been the best BLT I have ever had and we cleaned our plate on the country fried steak. Not only that I was surprised by the large meal they gave me. Food: The famous grouper sandwich is a must try on everyone bucket list. Pictures do not do it any justice.. It was time for weekend lunch and we were nearby at the craft supply store. When we exited we smelled home cooking and decided to stop in. We had two of their Blue Ribbon entrees - the Chicken Pot Pie and Meatloaf. Both were very satisfying; stick to your bones kind of food that makes you want a nap when you are done. I have a 10 piece, wings and fries. The wings themselves or cooked OK mostly crunchy but a bit tough at the same time. The sauce was uneven Lee distributed between the wings. It looks like they placed the wings on the plate then later the sauce on top versus tossing the wings in the sauce. It was supposed to be the spicy wings yet despise factor was about the same as a pickled jalapeño. The service was prompt. The waitress was very attentive to us and our table. I've been to Blue ribbon grill in the past, and i'm almost certain that i've written a review here, but even if I did not, it's time for an update anyway. Having a strong craving for a turkey burger, I was close enough to Blue ribbon grill and I remembered them having one on their menu, so I walked on in as a to go order. Customer service is sadly hit or miss here. The initial server, when they found out I was getting a to go order, went from super happy to see me, to uninterested and someone will be right with you. Beyond that first server, the second server who got my to go order was very pleasant and attentive, which was very much appreciated. As I mentioned, I got their turkey burger with fries, and I have to give them kudos on their fries. They were tater tot crispy, and very well seasoned. I had a couple in the car and actually they did not make it home. Very good fries! The turkey burger itself was a bit dry, but the sauces and lettuce/tomato/onion helped it. The patty wasn't all that seasoned but it served a purpose for me. The best part of my experience at Blue ribbon grill were those delicious french fries, followed by the second server who was really helpful. Beyond that, i'm kinda underwhelmed overall. This is my second time here. The first time I ordered the meatloaf. It was ok. Unremarkable. Today I ordered the santefay chicken and boy oh boy. It left me speechless. My 3 year old could have whipped up something better in his toy kitchen. They literally served me a chicken breast doused with marina sauce and covered with 2 slices of melted cheese. I looked at my plate in disbelief. I tried the rice and it was cold and waxy. Literally tasted like it was taken out of the fridge and warmed in the microwave. Unpalateable.The baked beans were from a can. Edible. I took a bite of the crafty chicken and couldn't bring it down. The cheese didn't even taste like Kraft.
