So was out this way and stopped in because it always been on my list of things to do. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Stopped in for a drink or two, but stayed a little bit longer for the music and The vibes. I was there on a weekend night, and it was super chill and had a really good performance situation happening on stage. This one is a little bit weird because you have to do certain things to be able to get in. It's not like it's an escape room situation, but at the same time, it's a little active. Not overly active to where you would be taxed when you get there. But you have to go follow some instructions and once you get in it's all gravy! There's a lot of space for table so you can sit in front of the stage or you can sit in the back or the bar is which is also very pristinely kept. Or their ceas behind that. And there's even a bowl of alley somewhere in the cut. It is a really really good spot. The entertainment was on point. They were playing a lot of hits, lot of old school which I appreciate it. Loved it. The drinks were fired. The bartender had a lot of personality and it was super engaging. Just what you want from Superior customer service. I would 101% go back. It was a lot of fun and a really good vibe. We just happened to walk in off of humbug, but I actually might remember reservations next time. Actually sit in the crowd to enjoy the music. This was my wife and I's first time at Roaring Social. I honestly didn't know what I was going to expect upon coming. I knew it was like a speakeasy kind of place, but that's all I knew. Upon arriving, we were asked if we knew the secret passcode. I didn't realize we needed to know a passcode, but the guy gave us some hints, and we eventually got it. We were instructed to go downstairs with a paper slip and "deposit" it into a deposit box downstairs. Upon doing this, we were granted access inside! It was pretty cool honestly! We sat at the bar upon arriving and ordered some drinks. They have a really nice drink menu with different cocktails and all the other liquors. They also have a full food menu too. Some people around us got food, and honestly, it looked really good! Our bartender Joey, was awesome! He was friendly and answered some of our questions about the drinks. He even made us espresso martini shots!! Hats off to Joey! The vibes inside are very prohibition-y. They had live music when we went, and I think they have live music most days during the week too. Roaring Social is located in downtown Decatur, so not too far of a walk from many other shops/bars/restaurants. We ubered, so I am not too familiar with parking, but I think there are parking garages nearby and street parking. I would definitely come back here in the future! read more

Did a triple date here recently with friends, and had a nice time! When you walk in, you are greeted by a host who confirms your reservation and escorts you to what looks like a bank vault downstairs. You slide a "deposit slip" with your reservation information into a fake bank drawer and another host behind the vault is supposed to let you in. It was kinda cool to be honest lol. Once you enter the actual restaurant, you can see the "roaring 20s" theme throughout, from the servers' outfits, to the old black and white paintings on the wall. We sat in the bowling alley area, which was a nice separation from the other part of the restaurant. We ended up coming on a Thursday evening, which is apparently karaoke night with a live band. I love karaoke but opted not to participate this time. As a table we ordered a variety of items. I got roasted brussel sprouts and a cheeseburger with a side caesar salad. The food was good, but not too memorable. I think I want to come back when they have a live jazz band and sit in the other part of the restaurant. Overall, the service and atmosphere at Roaring Social were great, and I would recommend others give it a visit. read more

I stumbled upon Roaring Social one night where I wasn't quite ready to go home. I googled live music in the area and I discovered that they were having I've band Karaoke; don't mind if I do! Our bartender was fabulous and the food and drink was delicious and fresh. They have a really nice drink menu with different cocktails as well as a full bar. Chris (treble) is the funniest and most reliable bartender. He's so attentive and the atmosphere is that of obviously the 1920s. If you have to ask you don't know. It definitely has the speakeasy situation down pat as you need a password and some other items before you actually go in. The space and ambiance is amazing; all the staff was very friendly and my drink was magnificent! This new speakeasy in downtown Decatur is truly one of a kind! The prohibition 1920s theme came through in the various decor and actors/staff. Entering the speakeasy was pretty easy even though we realized we didn't know the password. Once we realized we needed to "make a deposit", we were led to a replica bank room and into the bar. The vibe was really cool! Lots of interactive opportunities such as bowling and a photo booth. The food and drinks were a little slow to come out, even with not many people visiting. The food itself was yummy! The steak was tender and well seasoned. Wish the sauce came on the side because it wasn't my favorite. The music was also very loud and didn't really match the aesthetic of the place in my opinion, but did have a good vibe to it! Surprised hubby with a first-time visit here for our anniversary. He enjoyed the entry process and we liked the vibe that hit us once inside. We decided to try out the bowling, def should've checked it out before paying cause it was small balls and pins. Not actual bowling. My wife and I visited Roaring Social for an early dinner at 5:30 pm on a Friday. The restaurant was nearly empty with just one other couple there. The Good: The entrance experience is fantastic. They've clearly put thought and effort into the bank vault theme, and walking through that vault door really sets the stage. The interior has a nice lounge vibe with comfortable couches and areas that would work well for larger groups. The steak frites special was genuinely delicious. The steak was tender with a lovely chimichurri salsa, and the fries with garlic aioli were fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, which we appreciated. The Not-So-Good: Unfortunately, the theming breaks down once you're past that impressive entrance. There are two TV screens and a large stage with a big screen behind it that clash with the speakeasy concept. The contemporary music doesn't help, and during our visit, a band was doing mic checks and practice for an evening performance (they typically start after 7:00 pm). My wife and I had to nearly shout to hear each other at times, which isn't what I expect from a speakeasy atmosphere. The cocktails were just okay. Their smoked old fashioned lacked any sweetness and came across as too strong. The charcuterie board was disappointing--the only cheese appeared to be pre-packaged cubes you'd find at any grocery store, and it came with crispy, cracker-like bread instead of the naan advertised on the menu. Overall: Roaring Social has potential, especially if you're going with a larger group and aren't expecting an intimate, quiet speakeasy experience. We spent New Year's Eve at Roaring Social Decatur and overall it was a fun, high-energy night. The atmosphere was festive, the band was excellent, the music and dancing were on point, and the countdown felt like a real celebration. From an entertainment perspective, they absolutely delivered. There was a service hiccup that night around food timing and execution. It wasn't ideal, especially for a ticketed event--but what mattered most was how it was handled afterward. Within hours of sharing feedback, CEO Neal Freeman personally reached out, took full accountability, and clearly explained what went wrong and what's already been implemented to make sure it doesn't happen again. No excuses, no defensiveness--just transparency and ownership. Because of that response, we're confidently coming back--and bringing friends. We already plan to return in February for another live band night and are genuinely looking forward to it. Mistakes happen. Leadership and follow-through are what matter. Went for the first 11/22/25 , had know ideal what yo expect , but live bad. From walking in getting directions down stairs to secret code to be told what door to come though. Music,food drinks.
