The service was great our server was Alejandro and he was the sweetest he recommended a few options and we decided to go with it. I'm so glad we try what he recommended it was DELICIOUS!!! Early Father's Day celebration. I'm 70 and all my kids and Grandkids were there. 10 of us were promptly seated and Stacie was our server. I was impressed from the moment she took out orders. Our water, coffee and soda glasses were never empty. Some of us had breakfast and some of us had lunch. From the omelets to the chocolate chip pancakes, everyone was pleased. The country style potatoes were fabulous. They sat us in a private room and it was very quiet and we were able to have a wonderful conversation. Huge portions. Huge menu. Great service. The only downside is there are too many choices! I've been here twice now. The first time we got dinner: burger and sliders, chicken fingers for the kids, chili cheese fries, and finished it off with a cherry pie a la mode. Honestly the only thing I wish they had were flavored sodas like a traditional 50's style diner. The second time the family ordered breakfast (at dinner time) and everything was fantastic. The stuffed French toast was a favorite for the kids. The skillet and omelette were a hit for the adults. Seriously everything was a generous portion and tasted as I expected. Another outing seeking our favorite lunchtime food and cocktails with my friend. We've never been to Mr D"s but tried it with a coupon received in the mail for BOGO entrees. Wednesday lunch was not too busy but enough customers go make the place have some energy. The building is HUGE (I think it used to be a Marie Callender's) with many smaller areas/rooms if you're having a group gathering. The theme is cute with a 60's vibe (Elvis. Marilyn Monroe. Classic Chevys, chrome and red Formica) super cute and clean. The wait staff was great and gave us space while being attentive at the same time. Our first trip here was mediocre. This trip we came in for breakfast on a weekday morning. No one to great us and we waited 5+ minutes for someone to show up and seat us. Judith I believe was her name brought us the menu and was never to be seen again. 20 minutes later I walked clear to the opposite side of the restaurant to finally find Judith chit chatting with another waitress. The wife ordered Chicken strips and waffles, waffles did not come with any butter??? I got the MexTex omelette hold the flavor??? Food came before the utensils. Waitress in need of serious training and did not have a very pleasant attitude. The one star is for the atmosphere, the place has some nice character with the 50's theme going on. Barely toasted, s oggy English muffin. Damp from the poaching water. Eggs were ok. Slightly overcooked but runny yolks are my preference no big deal, I could have let them know ahead of ordering. The hollandaise was pointless. If they made it from scratch, they need to change the recipe. Bland, flavorless and lacked any hint of lemon or rich egg yolk. Perhaps an inferior mix or can. Hash Brown crispy outside. Soft inside. Good job. Tasty. All that being said. I will go back and try something else. Anyone can have a bad day or an unsatisfactory menu item. read more

Was here on a Sunday. Did a takeout order. Food was not any better than a typical Wendy's. My omelette was supposed to come with Ranchero sauce, but it was not included. The worst part was there was a big guy in the back plating every order coming out of the kitchen and he wasn't wearing a mask. he was standing over and handling every plate and talking/yelling at the cooks and spreading his rona spittle on every plate that came out of the kitchen. It is a shame because every other employee, including the cooks, was wearing a mask. I give the place one star because the attitude of the manager means a lot to me. I have to say, I was hugely disappointed when I opened up my styrofoam clambshell I saw 4 scrawny fish fillets sitting upon a shriveled up piece of brown romaine. And lemon wedges were very overripe. And that's it. My fish and chips were not what I imagined. My fish was missing its partner, chips. This, I find utterly ridiculous. Every member of my family complained their food choices were sub par. I don't know whether it was the particular shift scheduled tonight or the management. Been wanting to try this place after seeing recommendations on a Facebook group page. Covid precautions being taken: They have a large tent outside for dining, and currently 9/13/2020, limited indoor dining. We opted for indoor dining and were sat right away. We sat in the Hollywood room in a nice comfy booth. The place was very clean, even smelled of sanitizer. All employees were wearing masks. The booths have dividers to keep you separated from other parties. They also have removed a lot of the tables. Customers must wear masks unless they are sitting at their table. We felt very safe. Food: I ordered the country fried steak, eggs over medium, hash browns, and an English muffin. My steak was very hot, yet a little undercooked in the center for my liking. The country sausage gravy was very tasty. Even though they give you a generous portion, I asked for a side of gravy for my potatoes! Loved the gravy. The eggs were cooked just the way I like them. The hash browns were too salty for my liking, next time I will ask for easy on the salt, or no salt. English muffin was huge, I wound up eating 1/2. My meal I'd give a 8/10. Pretty decent chicken fried steak. My fiancé had the Vancouver Traditional Eggs Benedict, with tater tots. His meal came cold. He was a little upset, but kept his cool. He told our waitress, and she immediately took it back and had them make a whole new meal for him. When it came, it was piping hot. He liked the tater tots, and said the Benedict was decent. He said it was an 8/10. Service: Upon entry we were greeted right away. Our hostess was very inviting, chatted with us as she took us to our seat. Claudia was our server. She was very pleasant, and friendly. Very accommodating, and served us with a masked smile. When we return we will be requesting to sit in her area. The food was great and our server Donna was very friendly, not going to bag them on that. I ordered the stuffed french toast with eggs and sausage while my partner ordered the pastrami fries, everything was tasty! However, I found it was odd that there were only about 8-9 parties seated and we were the only small party of 2 that were sitting in a table without a canopy. Keep in mind that we got there at approximately 8am and the sun was not yet blazing. Nonetheless, after our breakfast and nice conversation, we could not take the sun beaming on our faces that we just needed to go. We took a huge chance, specially during this pandemic to become patrons since we've heard rave reviews of this place while risking our health, but it doesn't seem this restaurant cares much about its customers comfort, or maybe only certain customers by the looks of it. I finally asked the host for help. I was told someone is on the way. I'd leave, but I'm here with my mother who has limited mobility. I hate to move her to a new restaurant. Update: after 40 minutes, we now have iced teas. 50 minutes: we have salads. Mom's ordered Chinese chicken salad. Only thing Chinese about it is the crunchy Asian noodles on top. I was very disappointed with my last visit. I ordered the tuna melt. The tuna was tasteless. The fries were so-so at best. They may have tasted better had the tuna sandwich been tastier. I had their cookie ice cream sundae for dessert which I have had before. It seemed to me they have downgraded the size and quality of the cookie as compared to past visits. I am not sure if I will be returning to this restaurant. If they are cutting back on quality to reduce their overhead costs I think they will lose customers which would be a shame. I will probably give them one more chance but they will be on a short leash. read more

We called and they apologized and took down our name and number and told us they would credit the whole order back which was generous. We went there yesterday and we told the woman(older red head) what occurred with the screw up...she went and found our ticket and said that they were only Giving us five dollars off. My wife told her that is not what she was told but compromised that it would be $5 off because she said the manager wasn't around to confirm. The waitress said "there's always something wrong here.."Then our order came and it was missing the side of meat, the fruit on my wife's crepes, and I ordered no tomatoes in my skillet it had tomatoes...after that we never saw our waitress again...when it was time to leave our waitress was still busy helping other people so we finally just went up front to pay. I like the food, BUT it seems that the service needs a lot of work. I will be back to get the food...but I think all I'll get is the take Out and will Be checking it thoroughly before I leave. read more

First and foremost the theme and aesthetic is very cool here. My family and have have been 2 times now and it's always pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, the service leaves something to be desired and the quality of food is just not up to par with other restaurants in the same category of dining. Possibly because the menu is SO vast. We wont be back anytime soon but if we hear things are looking with the quality of food, we'll probably give it another shot. read more

Went into Mr.D's today and really enjoyed our visit. The place is super cute, love the way it's decorated and how bright & inviting it is. The menu is huge and the selection of foods is one of the best I've seen. Prices are fair, especially for the giant portions! I ordered the grilled chicken wrap and it came with a ton of fries AND soup. I could barely finish half the wrap and brought the rest home. My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich which was super full, tons of pastrami! My daughter got the beef gyro sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. We loved the corn chowder more than the minestrone but both were very tasty. I love flavored iced tea and they have an amazing passion fruit tea that was so good!! Our waitress Ericka was very friendly and kept checking to make sure everything was perfect. The manager came by to check on us as well & seemed very nice. The place is so cute and you can't help but keep noticing more and more cool pictures all over the restaurant. I was very happy to see lots of people coming & going. Drinks are not included in the combo, the burgers were good the measly spread of little fries given to you ain't it, we both got burger combos and the price was like $38 which is ridiculously high for a diner but they give you a complimentary 3 ounce soup with undercooked beans so maybe they think this does it justice for an $18 combo meal that does not include a drink in the combo meal. I would only come here for just the burger THATS IT. read more

This place is pretty new. It replaced the old Marie Calendars. Being new, it's very clean inside, always a plus when dining. One of the owners came to our table, he seems like a nice enough guy.
