Food is really good but service is very, very slow. Staff were friendly, but took forever to get our food despite the restaurant being more than half empty. They also said tandoori grill items would take about 30 minutes to prepare. Other Indian places don't have this ridiculously long wait time for those kind of items. It gives me no great pleasure in giving this restaurant a 3 star rating. It get 5 stars for ambience, cleanliness and service. Where it falls down is the quality and consistency of the food which is 1 star. Yeah, that's a big one! We started coming here several years ago and the food was consistently good, then it started to change. The seasonings used on the food were the same on every entree so all the food tasted the same. It did not matter if it was tandoori chicken, butter chicken or any thing else, they all tasted the same. So stopped coming. A few months ago we decided to give it another try. YAY, the food was good again. Uh-oh---a couple weeks ago we came to the lunch buffet and I put a forkful of something into my mouth that was MASSIVELY hot and EXTREMELY salty. Heat on food is good as long as it accompanies the food and doesn't override the food's intrinsic flavor. The same goes for salt. That food I described was over the top disgustingly bad. Going out to eat should be a pleasurable dining experience, not a crap shoot. I can no longer recommend this place and I will not be back. If you crave good Indian food and don't mind the drive there is a top shelf, A-1 place in Aptos that I now highly recoomend. read more

We visited this place on week day night. It was not crowded but still busy with take outs. Decent ambiance. We liked the food that we ordered. Chicken sheesh kabab: nice presentation like sizzler. Chicken was flavorful. For me it was bit salty though. Punjabi chicken curry: if you are craving for street style curry this is your bet. Very nostalgic. It has amazing Smokey flavor. We loved it. It is bit oily and this time less salty ( which we don't mind at all) Daal Fry: for me this was the star. Very few restaurants serve Thai type of slow cooked daal. Chai: A must try. Tried their Paneer Bhuna Masala from the menu. Good quantity and freshly prepared but it was very dry and more like bhurji. The cheese chilli naan was just full of cheese and felt like just having a large slice of melted cheese instead of naan. It was a Tuesday night and the place was almost empty. we did notice a lot of to go and delivery orders and it got a little busier before we left. It was clean and simple but comfortable. The server and maybe a manager or owner were very nice. The server was very busy seeming to be handling everything himself. They gave us a free order of papadam while we waited for our food. We decided to order several things and share it. The food did take a while. We ordered chicken tikka, lamb vindaloo, samosa chaaat, cauliflower pakora, rice and naan. It was all really good! A friend and I decided to meet halfway, so we picked tandoori flames as a lunch spot. It was lunchtime with a buffet spread. All the tables were occupied. It seemed like a good and busy spot. They have a chai booth. The chai was good. The buffet has vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. They also give a basket of naan bread, which they bring to the table. The rice seemed a tiny bit dry and also they were slow to refill the tray. There were quite a few good vegetarian options. The salad looked a bit sketchy with the lettuce, appearing not so fresh. Overall, the quality of food is good. The taste is good. The price is reasonable. They could introduce a few new and refreshing vegetarian items. I liked my first experience here. We came here for the first time as we were visiting family in the area! It was clean and a great ambiance. The decor, seating and cleanliness of the place stood out for sure! They serve more of North Indian cuisine. Our first server was really cheerful, bubbly and helpful. There was another guy who helped us as well. The items we ordered: -garlic naan -samosa -lamb saagwala -butter chicken -vegetable biryani -and hot chais Everything was delicious and the lamb didn't taste gamey. I normally don't order lamb but my bro wanted to and I'm glad I was able to try it. I liked dipping the garlic naan in the sauces too. Overall, our experience was positive. I think for me, the entire restaurant was clean and inviting and also had more of a fancy touch to it. I'd def come back here again. We decided to have Indian food last night in Morgan Hills which's much closer to our home than go up North where there's various excellent restaurants. After over a year not dine here we returned to Tandoori Flame and this time food is much much better although our grandson's order of Butter chicken and other dish like chicken Masala was a little bit too sweet. Goat curry and Palak Paneer and Nans were very good n just right for us Short of staff as they're busy but Services was nice and we left Happy. So many wonderful things I have to say about this restaurant!!! My family and I have always come during their lunch buffet. As soon as you enter, the host, who is also the server, kindly greets you with a smile and seats you promptly. You choose between regular or garlic naan (included in the lunch buffet deal) or you can order another flavor a la carte. We always get the garlic naan which comes out hot and fluffy yet deliciously crisp. They usually have about 3-4 types of curries on rotation, along with an assortment of samosas and chicken wings. There is also a salad and dessert bar. Chai is a must with the meal, and recently they just added mango lassi to buffet! Bittu catered our wedding through Mohi Ranch and it was absolutely incredible. Bittu was by far the best vendor we worked with. Here are a few things: * He is extremely friendly and communicative. He was super easy to work with throughout. * The food tasting was very informative and helped us choose our menu. Bittu structured it so we were able to try all of the core menu as well as a few extra items he thought we would like. * Bittu has been in business for a long time so he has a lot of connections in the area. As a result he was able to source a specific type of Mexican dessert we wanted at our wedding. * The food the day of was perfect! Well presented and very tasty. Chicken tikka kabab!! Every time. 2 orders. It's so tender and seasoning is perfect. I usually don't order chicken at restaurants because it's almost always dry, but this place is the exception. Extra mint chutney. Would recommend the samosas too. They used to have tandoori prawns, that were excellent, tender and juicy. But unfortunately that dish has been discontinued, I think. Bring it back! Ambiance is very nice, small and cozy. They usually have half the restaurant separated/blocked off (assuming it's for their lunch buffet which I have yet to make). Service can be a bit slow. Every time I've been in, they seem to have the same 2 guys who are running around doing everything. Not sure if they changed ownership but the food has definitely gone down in flavor and quality. I noticed a change in the menu as well. I usually order the chicken tikka masala , paneer masala, garlic naan and the lamb biryani. Chicken tikka masala was lacking in flavor, paneer masala was very tangy and the lamb biryani usually is tender and the rice is flavorful but this time the lamb was dry and the rice lacked flavor. Garlic naan was decent in flavor but they were a bit chewy and definitely way thinner. This used to be my go to especially since morgan hill doesn't have many indian restaurant options at the moment but I dont think I will be getting food here unless they go back to their old recipe read more

This establishment pivoted the way I'll be having Indian food from now on. My girlfriends and I tried this recently, and were pleasantly surprised. Our server was very sweet and patient with us, given that we all needed clarification on what we were orders. Ok, food was really good. It tasted so fresh and authentic. The Roti could have been flakier and the shrimp was good but nothing extra. Here comes the "bad": we went there for Valentine's dinner and we made reservations online. When we got there, there were a lot of people waiting for their orders so it seemed that they were understaffed. It took them 10 mins to sit us and then they didn't let us order (they told us to wait). Finally we ordered but the food took like 50 mins. I felt bad because the food was so good but the service wasn't the best. Still I would give them another chance and would love to try some more dishes :) Other positive thing: I kept overhearing people saying how good their food is and they keep going back so that is always a plus! read more

Good food, nice people, great service! The combo plate is a great idea, decent portions good for one person per combo and good value....allows you to try a little bit of a few things. Went there for Sunday lunch. While we were waiting for the order we were served complimentary papad with green and red chutneys/ very delicious. Then came the combo - each combo includes naan, rice, raita, dal of choice and one vegetable of choice. We ordered one combo with palak paneer and dal tadka and the other with paneer makhani and kaali dal. Everything was delicious - not too overpowering and well balanced flavors. The service was awesome - the server was super attentive and made sure our glass was always filled with water (It was super hot and I was drinking a lot of water that day for some reason) - she made sure I never ran out. The place is clean and appreciate the Covid protocols the restaurant is following. Hidden gem in the South Bay...will visit again when I am in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Tandoori Flames is the best Punjabi food in the Bay Area. Chef Bittu's butter chicken and naan, kababs and paneer are the best in the Bay Area. His customer focus and attention also impressed my family. They are inside caterers for many event venues such as Hayes Mansion. We recently had a wedding in the family at Hayes Mansion where he and his team truly delivered an amazing food experience. As you know, food is the heart of any Indian wedding, and they nailed it. Exceptional service, ingredients are fresh and std menu one expects at an Indian restaurant, and plenty of parking spots. Started off with Mixed Veggie Pakora which were fresh and spot-on with Masala Chai. 4 stars. Chicken Biryani was perfect - bit diff than traditional South Indian dum Biryani. I enjoyed it. 4 stars. man, i really love this place when its good, but honestly the food quality is so inconsistent. sometimes we get it and its amazing, other times its just okay, and sometimes its down right bad. we got it tonight and unfortunately its super salty and not flavorful at all. the chicken tikka looks nothing like it normally looks. i added a photo but my phone couldnt quite capture the color accurately, but looked very different than all the other times we've ordered it. i wish there were more options in morgan hill. sadly, even with the inconsistency, this is still one of the better restaurants in town. bummer. read more

I've been here before for outdoor dining. Today was my first time having a meal indoors. I love the refresh of this place. I forget the name of what it was before it became Tandoori Flames, but the place it was before was dated and needed a serious refresh. Since this restaurant turned into Tandoori Flames, The dining room is refreshed and clean with new linens and new booth. The food was absolutely delicious. I love that the menu had descriptions. However the lunch special did not have a description written on it. I had to translate that one from the actual menu but it worked out okay. The butter chicken was absolutely flavorful. So was the naan, I had four naans on my plate, which was actually more than I needed. So no complaints there at all. The basmati rice was very fluffy and tasty. The lentils had a lot of flavor just as well. I really enjoyed the yogurt dip. I do however wish I knew a little bit more about the dishes. I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to Indian food and I'd love to understand some of the things on the menu a little bit more. Wish I took a picture of the menu. Because there's a lot more I'd like to try. With that said I will be coming back again for sure. read more
