Food is good, and they have good service. I order online and just pick up and it's ready quickly.

It is nice to have another option for Indian Cuisine in Gilroy. I was starting to feel like Little India was the only show in town , and were price gauging their customers because of it. if I am comparing the two, I prefer Little India's food better, but I feel like you get a little more bang for your buck here at Tadka. The dining room is welcoming , with music videos playing and pictures of delicious food on the wall. For dinner, we opted for the butter chicken and lamb curry. This is probably the worst version of butter chicken that I have ever tried. The chicken was dry despite being covered in the wonderful sauce. The lamb curry was better , but a little fatty in some spots. The aloo gobhi was really good with both the potatoes and cauliflower cooked perfectly. The basmati rice was perfect , and the garlic naan was excellent. Our total bill was about 65.00 not including tip. To be fair we had enough leftovers for a lunch the next day. Solid option in Gilroy, but not quite the can't miss experience I was hoping for. I guess it is back to Little India for me for my Indian cuisine. read more

My last meal from Tadka Indian Cuisine was the most disappointing meal I've had in a very long time. Indian cuisine is my favorite type of cuisine. Roti is perhaps my favorite of any bread ... however not this Roti. I requested all dishes (we ordered several - as I do when ordering Indian food) to be medium or spicy. Nothing was medium spiced and definateky not spicy... in cadaver I dint think anything had a spice at all to it (except for the Bhindi Marsala which had a lot of red pepper flakes in it). The Mixed Vegetable Pakora was tough and gummy inside each fritter, some of the fritters were burnt. The Roti was so tough I could not even treat it apart with my hand; at home I tried my best to use hand and dicots to top it and I put it outside fir the raccoons and even they refused to eat it. The Naan was also tough (though not as though as the Roti) it was supposed to be butter garlic naan and it was so cold bland and tough I'm not sure it was any of those words. The Paneer Tikka Masala was so sweet and absolutely bland it was inedible. I just started picking out the paneer to eat without the sauce that was only sickly sweet with no other flavor. The Lb Vindaloo also has a sauce with barely a spice in it ... bland (I've never had a bland vindaloo before) with large hunks of potato but barely any meat. The Shrimp Korma had four shrimp in it (shrimp were well cooked and of decent size - but only 4!) and the sauce was again bland ... not a flavor or spice anywhere to be found. The Bhindi Marsala had actual flavor of the red pepper flake nature and was not bad but do overcooked it had the strangest texture and slight scorched flavor on some of the okra pieces. The Samosas were soft and doughy with the insides a dense compressed mass that had no flavor. The blandest samosa (I didn't eat mine I offered to raccoons as well - they ate the samosa) I've ever had... the ones you can air fry from Costco are better than these were. The rice (Peas Pulao) was well cooked and tasted fine if bland. The mint chutney was very watery tasting that it had very little flavor at all. The Tamarind chutney was pretty good and hubby really liked it. It and the rice were the only things we could say were good or mediocre. Indian food is my favorite food, my husband is not as wild about it as I am so we do not often get it. I was so excited to order all of these dishes .... And how devastated I was when I was served whatever this was! read more

The Tadka lunch buffet was small compared to other Indian buffets we've been to. There wasn't a wide selection. The Chicken Tandoori was dry and tough. Also they used too much artificial food coloring to make it bright red, which we are not very fond of due to health concerns. The other dishes were butter chicken, samosas, vegi curry, mushroom masala, goat curry, vegi spring rolls, basmati rice, salad, and galub jamun for dessert. There was also hot chai tea. The waiter also gave us some freshly made garlic naan, which we really liked. The goat curry was flavorful and the meat was tender. The entrees were flavorful, but heavy except for the salad. After our first round, we were pretty much full. We only had room for few galub jamuns. read more

I didn't know Gilroy had an Indian restaurant, but wow, am I so glad I do now! The food was delicious! There are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available as well! The front of house staff member was so kind and provided great service. She was amazing! The restaurant itself was clean, well decorated, and had soft music playing. It was an amazing experience. Came for their lunch buffet on a Saturday around noon and it was practically empty, but got pretty busy by the time we left. Buffet selection is decent, slightly on the smaller side compared to some others I've been to, but still had plenty of options like samosas, vegetable spring rolls, chicken wings, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, goat curry, dal, paneer sikka masala, fresh salad, basmati rice, etc. They also bring fresh plain or garlic naan to your table. Wow incredible food! We wanted something good after the outlets and this place is a hit! We ordered saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani. I came here for date night, and the food was delicious! Gilroy is not too far away, and we wanted to try a place we had not previously visited. We got the mango lassi, a tasty mango yogurt dessert drink(you can never go wrong with a lassi). We ordered the pakora veggies, tandoori fish, garlic naan, and bullet naan (spicy naan). Everything was flavorful, and the tamarind and mint sauce complemented the pakora veggies and fish. My favorite was the tamarind chutney. This place is worth stopping by if you are ever in the area. The food was 3 star but I down graded the review to 1 star because of the attitude and service. We experienced one of the restaurant personnel as VERY rude. Throughout our meal, when we went to the bathroom and even after we paid the bill he aggressively stared at us. This definitively takes away from enjoying our meal. It was clear he did not care for us, perhaps because we are a mixed race couple. We stopped here for dinner on our way to Sequoia National park. And it was such a nice experience. We ordered the achari paneer tikka for starters which was properly seasoned and cooked. For the main course we ordered makai kofta, kadai paneer, mix veg and daal tadka. All the curries had good flavor and felt fresh. For breads we ordered the bullet naan (super spicy, but loved it), garlic naan, butter naan and cheese naan. We asked our server to have the breads well done and they were crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. Lastly, we ordered peas pulao which had good amount of peas and the rice was really flavorful and well cooked. The service felt a bit slow but good food made up for it. Garlic nan included in the buffet for about $18. It was very good. Doughy and crispy. The DAL was amazing. Very sad I didn't try it before I ate so much. I would go back and order this solo. Paneer Tikka Masala was a bit spicey for me (but I still ate it all). The paneer was a bit firm. Butter chicken has a deep butter taste. Chicken I could cut with a fork.
