So I got to the dounut shop right after I droped off my son from school which is pretty early right, wrong I asked the lady for a ham and cheese croissant, she said were all out, so I look where they usually keep them and what do I see a whole try with about 6-7 ham and cheese croissants. I am disappointed in having to write this review. Pros the donuts were some of the tastiest, I had eaten in some time minus the apple fritter I had purchased prior too, it had been fried in to much oil once I heated it up there was to much sugar I had to drain the excess oil from the donuts with paper towels before eating. Con: I don't know if the older guy behind the counter was the owner but they need new management if this how he treat his customers. I went to buy a dozen donuts a 8:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 19th, they had 2 twist donuts left in the case I asked the guy the older server possibly the owner...will you be putting more donuts out and possibly when in case I wanted to wait around or know when to return for fresh donuts (that was out of the question) he said "No more donuts, No more donuts", maybe 8 times. I stupidly bought those last two donuts and truly wish I hadn't. I believe Mr. Good's Donuts are in the donuts business. Then maybe for some people and not for others maybe they should put Asian script on there business then they can keep out the ones they don't want to patronize anyway. I know they were staying open the entire day as customers were seated at tables around eating donuts and drinking coffee etc., but the business were out of donuts. Donuts: 4.5 stars Service: 4.0 stars Came in for a dozen donuts. Used to come here as a kid, 20 years later my mom still comes here with the grand kids and they love picking their own donuts! Got my fave dozen - glazed twists (they only had 4 left, I wanted 6), buttermilk, Bavarian custard filled chocolate, crumb donut, peanut with chocolate cake donut, and an apple fritter (they kindly gave me that for 2 donuts). Regular dozen will cost $7.50, fair price. It's when you try to get fancy and get the crazier ones that ends up costing you more, which is still fair. Buttermilk, apple fritter, and any selection with more than two long johns (I guess twisties?) are an extra cost. My dozen came to $8.50, i don't mind paying, I just like to get a breakdown of what I'm paying for - ya, I'm one of those sticklers! The lady who rang me up just said, "I gave you a discount." Thanks, but I still wanna know what the breakdown is.. never got it, and didn't want to argue or keep inquiring where the extra costs were. The young man who got my donuts carefully arranged them in my box and was super nice. The donuts are sooo yummy! Esp the glazed twist, my ultimate favorite donut! Glazed donuts are BOMB. So soft with a melt-in-your-mouth consistency. We went in at 11 am, and unfortunately many of their donuts were gone by this time! We even missed the ham-and-cheese croissants, so the lady suggested we come back by 8 am tomorrow. She was so nice, she even gave us a donut hole sample each and then split a cake donut for us to sample also! A great donut shop, plain and simple! Came here in the morning to pick up some donuts for the office and it was a good first experience. They have a pretty spacious parking lot and when I got there, all the donuts looked very fresh and there were already quite a few people enjoying their morning coffees and reading their papers. Donuts are good! Caught the lady over charging me and trying to give me the wrong change. I gave her $5 and she tried giving me $1 and some change. When I questioned her about it she claims that the prices went up but clearly on the menu board it's a different price. Price for glazed donuts are $0.80 on the menu board. I bought 2 glaze and she charged me $1.75. When I questioned her like I said she claim that the price went up and told me it's $1.00 each which I kind of understand but yet she told me my total was $1.75 which makes no sense. mr good's donuts, i think i have a new name for you...how about MR GREAT!! the other day, on a whim, i woke up at 6 am and decided to skip on starbucks and instead i headed over to mr. good's for a coffee and a donut. the interior is pretty standard, but well-maintained and very clean. like all the other shops, they had all the standard classic donuts...cakes, raiseds, bars, fritters and so on...but what stood out to me was how perfectly formed their donuts were and how their frostings, glazes and toppings seemed to be applied with such care and ease. i ended up walking out with a coffee, 3 donuts and a ham and cheese croissant (what a piggy, i know..! :-) lol). my croissant was so fresh, warm, and fluffy, i couldn't stop myself from devouring it in the car before i drove off. throughout the morning, i worked my way through the donuts and they were all sooo yummy - perfectly balanced in flavor sweetness and texture. i will definitely be back...maybe even tomorrow! read more
