This trip we finally tried the breakfast burritos, and wow... they were amazing too! And of course, the donuts never disappoint. They're always so soft, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really taste the difference. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes us look forward to coming back every visit. The ham and cheese croissant has definitely improved. They used to only put one slice of ham in it. On my most recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised when I took a bite and found it was filled with about three slices of ham. I'm glad they stopped being so stingy with the ham because they make one of the best ham and cheese croissants I've had from a donut shop. I also ordered a dozen donut holes during this visit. I had a pleasant experience at Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park). I ordered the Chocolate Donut with Coconut ($1.75). It's FRESH and textured, crumbly outer layer & soft base. WOW! That's a delicious, decadent donut. (Important: Bring Cash. There's an added 50 cents for card payments.) I arrived at Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park) on a weekday (around 7:18AM). Parking felt convenient. There's a fairly big "customer only" lot. I easily found parking. Staff is very businesslike and terse. This business had many customers so Staff looked very distant and focused on just completing tasks as efficiently as possible. On ambiance, Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park) is clean and plain. There's three tables. There's no customer restroom. And the spot mostly felt like an order-and-leave location. Most customers were just standing and waiting for their orders. Just a short walk from where I'm working it's worth the walk up and back. It gets busy and has been during both of my visits. The service was fast and exceptional. I can't believe I haven't been here before (although my partner has been here loads). We had about a half hour to kill before my hair appointment, and, in desperate need of coffee, and with Mr. Goods Donuts closed for Memorial Day, we sauntered down to Pronto Donuts. What a pleasant time! Nice spacious store, friendly service. We came in mid afternoon, so their donut selection was dwindled, but they still had my partner's favorite un-frosted plain blueberry cake donut, and I got a cake donut with frosting. Their menu is not only inclusive of donuts but also features a variety of options, including subs, burgers, sandwiches, pastries, and smoothies. We ordered sausage, egg & cheese croissant, fish burger, ham, egg & cheese croissants, and two orders of fries, one fresh orange juice, pineapple & coconut smoothie, etc. I liked my sausage, egg & cheese croissant. The size was big and it was delicious. My mom also liked her fish burger; it was different than the Filet-O-Fish at McDonald's. The fish was not fried, but it was grilled. The drinks were also refreshing, and I highly recommend the pineapple & coconut smoothie. Their interior is outdated, and the chairs are old, but their food is pretty good, and the price is very reasonable. P.S. So I just stopped here randomly because it was the closest breakfast spot to me at the time. I was so surprised with the taste that I needed to make a review. Their donuts are nice and soft. I had the maple bar and it's got a unique flavor that stands out from other typical maple bars I've had. But the most unexpected thing was their breakfast burrito and homemade chili sauce. I don't need to explain any further. You just gotta try it. It has bacon egg and cheese with crispy tater tots. Prontos has been around as long as I can remember. The donuts always taste great and the variety incorporates the standard styles as well as specialties like blueberry, strawberries and cream, tiger tails, and coconut cream. The blueberry which comes both in glazed and unglazed are some of our favorites. The tiger tail is a little extra crispy, super sugary, and take note that it's so long that it comes in a submarine sandwich sleeve. Honestly, I don't think we've ever had a subpar donut here. Wow this place is popular - how have we not been here before today? We got the sausage egg and cheese croissant and the ham egg and cheese croissant for breakfast. Very good - classic donut shop breakfast that comes with a side of homemade chili sauce. There was a slight wait when we went around 9AM but the sandwiches were fresh and filling. My typical donut shop doesn't usually have a wide variety selection early in the morning, so I was pleasantly surprised to walk in at 5am and see quite a lot of options! When I'm craving donuts, I know now exactly where I need to go. Right here. It has its own parking lot with may be about 8 to 10 spots making it quite convenient for a quick in and out. However I will say that spots fill up pretty quickly and you can bet there's a line on the weekends. I came in on a Saturday at 9 AM and there were about three people ahead of me in line and a few behind me within a minute after I arrived. There was one lady at the counter who was taking orders and taking payments. I suggest while you wait in line to know exactly what you want because it seems like you don't really have enough time to look around and pick. Most folks in line seem to be regulars and know exactly what they want or are ready by the time they get to the counter. Here's what I really enjoyed: the cinnamon crumb, coconut cream, sugar twist. Most folks liked the tiger tail too, but I would recommend this if you absolutely love chocolate. Every donut that I tried tasted like soft pillows of sugary goodness. Heavenly really. Not stale at all - you could tell they are freshly made. I bought 6 donuts total (see my photos) for $10.25.
