The ham and cheese croissant has definitely improved. They used to only put one slice of ham in it. On my most recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised when I took a bite and found it was filled with about three slices of ham. I'm glad they stopped being so stingy with the ham because they make one of the best ham and cheese croissants I've had from a donut shop. I also ordered a dozen donut holes during this visit. That's a delicious, decadent donut. (Important: Bring Cash. There's an added 50 cents for card payments.) I arrived at Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park) on a weekday (around 7:18AM). Parking felt convenient. There's a fairly big "customer only" lot. I easily found parking. Staff is very businesslike and terse. This business had many customers so Staff looked very distant and focused on just completing tasks as efficiently as possible. On ambiance, Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park) is clean and plain. There's three tables. There's no customer restroom. And the spot mostly felt like an order-and-leave location. Most customers were just standing and waiting for their orders. Overall, Pronto Donuts (Monterey Park) offers very good quality donuts. I felt myself whisper "woah" when I bit into that rich treat. There's a good reason why this business is popular. I was staying in the area for a few days and I couldn't have asked for a better place to grab a bite, whether a breakfast sandwich or a donut and a coffee. The classic, old school signage pretty much says "We've been here for a lonnnng time, and we know what we're doing." California is known for such old classic spots that hit the taste buds without looking fancy, and this place is exactly that. The staff were super nice and friendly. I came in at 1pm and they have a good variety of donuts left. It was $10 for a half dozen mixed donuts. Their donut is really soft despite it not being fresh. I really enjoyed it. My favorite is their blueberry donut. Their glazed donut is delicious as well. It's not too glazed like Krispy kreme but it was perfect amount of glaze. Just a short walk from where I'm working it's worth the walk up and back. It gets busy and has been during both of my visits. The service was fast and exceptional. What a pleasant time! Nice spacious store, friendly service. We came in mid afternoon, so their donut selection was dwindled, but they still had my partner's favorite un-frosted plain blueberry cake donut, and I got a cake donut with frosting. This was a solid donut. We also got an egg & cheese sando on an everything bagel (which was cut in half - perfect for splitting), and it came out piping hot and delicious! I haven't updated my review of Pronto Donuts in a while. We ordered some sandwiches there on the weekend. Their menu is not only inclusive of donuts but also features a variety of options, including subs, burgers, sandwiches, pastries, and smoothies. We ordered sausage, egg & cheese croissant, fish burger, ham, egg & cheese croissants, and two orders of fries, one fresh orange juice, pineapple & coconut smoothie, etc. I liked my sausage, egg & cheese croissant. The size was big and it was delicious. My mom also liked her fish burger; it was different than the Filet-O-Fish at McDonald's. The fish was not fried, but it was grilled. The drinks were also refreshing, and I highly recommend the pineapple & coconut smoothie. Their interior is outdated, and the chairs are old, but their food is pretty good, and the price is very reasonable. P.S. They have grilled pork rice and grilled chicken rice on weekdays for only $9.99 each. I wanna try it next time. read more

I never had a fried egg in a breakfast burrito before. That was unique! It was pretty decent nevertheless! They have a spicy hot sauce! It was addicting and had a nice bite to it. I have a pretty high tolerance for spice, but this sauce had definite bite - beware haha! The Ham and Cheese Croissant was also pretty good. It was nice and cheesy. So in I went to get their iced coffee (it's Vietnamese coffee) and it was good! Not as strong as some that I've had, but good enough to kick your energy up. So I just stopped here randomly because it was the closest breakfast spot to me at the time. I was so surprised with the taste that I needed to make a review. Their donuts are nice and soft. I had the maple bar and it's got a unique flavor that stands out from other typical maple bars I've had. But the most unexpected thing was their breakfast burrito and homemade chili sauce. I don't need to explain any further. You just gotta try it. It has bacon egg and cheese with crispy tater tots. They're not stale one bit and had a great texture, they stayed slightly crisp and wasn't soggy one bit. Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bagel- was great. Had 2 slices of sausages, bagel was firm but fluffy. They gave us chili oil that added the perfect amount of spice, savory and depth. El Burrito- had egg, cheese, sausage and hash brown. Much lighter than having it on a bagel. Both are great. They also give you a chili oil with this. Chicken Sub- baguette bread was light and airy. Chicken wasn't dry at all. Pickled veggies added the perfect texture. My typical donut shop doesn't usually have a wide variety selection early in the morning, so I was pleasantly surprised to walk in at 5am and see quite a lot of options! They had blueberry, cake, and donut holes. I ordered a random dozen and the lady was sooo kind and told me if I wanted to wait 2 minutes they were in the process of making their regular fluffy donuts and asked what toppings I'd prefer!! As I was ordering, the kitchen was still pumping out lots of donuts so I was able to get an apple fritter as well. They were the freshest donuts I've had in awhile, they were warm and the icing still gooey, so definitely recommend going early.
