Support this donut shop at all cost! I've been coming here since I was a kid and the owners remain kind, friendly and their donuts are still tasty as ever! I don't come as often when I lived closer, but I'm still glad to see their business open. I know they've had major setback from COVID and on my recent visit, the owner told me their store was broken into 3 times in 1 year. I think that's why they close early when they're sold out or when the sunsets, for safety issue. I can't imagine all the stress he is under maintaining the shop. So it's understandable that when I came in a late day around 5:00 pm, there wasn't as much options compared to the mornings. Some of our favorite flavors are sprinkles, maple, old-fashion, glaze and chocolate glaze. Less in variety didn't deter from their consistency. Their donuts are still one of my favorites in the area. It's $16.00 for a dozen, he even added 2 extra ones even with the circumstances. Their jalapeño ham & cheese croissant is $4.50 each, and absolutely always got to get one these every time I visit! My friend asked for croissant, donuts and coffee before I went to his detailing business. I hit Yelp and searched donuts hooked a detour to San Gabriel Donuts. The owner(I believe) greeted me nicely. Grabbed a croissant, ham and cheese with Jalapeños(must have warmed up), and some donuts. Chocolate bar breading was soft and the chocolate topping was not overbearing . Iced coffee came out with a gentleman( probably owner idk) and I said "dam that looks good." He gave two thumbs up and said wait until you try it! I have mentally deleted all other donut shops in the area until further notice. Definitely will come back read more

Pre-covid 19 & covid-19 reviews. I love this donut shop. I used to come here to buy few dozens of donuts for my office. The guy at the counter is always friendly and nice. My coworkers love the donuts and the price is reasonable. My favorite is the plain sugar donut. It's fluffy, not greasy, not too sweet and paired well with a cup of black coffee. I have been back several times during the pandemic and the service is still amazing. It's a delicious and cheap snack when I get stressed out from staying at home all day. Small mom and pop donut shop located all the way down San Gabriel Blvd in Rosemead. Probably wouldn't even have known about this place had it not been for some food pages and Yelp; plaza has several other shops, but businesses didn't seem too crazy on a Tuesday afternoon. San Gabriel Blvd is also super busy, so it's very easy to miss the plaza if you're not aware of where you're going. It seems like San Gabriel Donut's popular items are the cream puffs and blueberry donut holes. I called ahead and unfortunately all the donut holes were sold out, but they did have two boxes of cream puffs available - which she'd hold for me until I arrived. The donut selection was pretty slim by late afternoon, but they still had the glazed, sugar, cinnamon selections as well as some fritters and cinnamon rolls. Prices are not too bad as well, with donuts running at around $1.10 and rolls at $1.95. They also offer croissant and bagel sandwiches as well as coffee, milk teas, and smoothies. A dozen cream puffs are now $6, which is a very good deal - it seemed they were taken out of the fridge, as the box had some condensation. I was a little disappointed to see that not all the cream puffs were the same - there was the light fluffy doughy ones, but there was also maybe about 5-6 donut holes that were filled with cream. Maybe they ran out of the light dough used for cream puffs and had to replace them with donut batter, but the texture and taste were definitely different. The fluffy cream puffs are definitely super airy and light - I would say that they're similar to the ones I enjoyed from a West Covina store. The filling of whipped cream was not too sweet, with the powdered sugar giving each bite that extra kick of sweetness. Can easily eat several in one sitting if I'm not paying attention. By the next day though, these cream puffs were a little less fresh, so it's best to eat them the day of. The donut filled cream puffs were not too tasty - donut was already a little stale and didn't taste too great coming from the fridge. Felt like the texture was a bit chewy and bready. Dozen assorted donuts are $12 while blueberry donut holes are $3 per dozen. Definitely feel like they have a ton of local customers who stop by to pick up their morning treats. There's a ton of beverages in the refrigerated section upon walking in; seems like they installed plexi-glass and a barrier as well to ensure safety. tl;dr - Highly recommend their cream puffs! Make sure you call ahead to ensure that they still have cream puffs/donut holes available. And hopefully the cream puff combination with donut hole cream puffs was just a one time thing. read more

4.5 Whenever I'm craving for a donut, and want it nearby, San Gabriel Donut never fails to deliver to satisfy that sweet bite. A plain glazed donut or an apple fritter is my usual, but both have a soft and airy center that's slightly sweet so that the glazes on the outside shines a little more. While the plain glazed donut definitely is soft throughout (and probably would be to die for fresh), the fritter has that perfect crunch on the outside. While it hits home, it's not going to be like Tom Douglas' Dahlia Bakery where they make it to order, so don't expect anything extravagant read more

4 stars is for the yummy glazed donuts alone and the nice man who works here. The ham and cheese croissants are not good here and taste old. I thought I got unlucky getting the old croissants 3 times over the last fee years but I think that's just how they taste. Not gonna push my luck here anymore. read more

Called a day ahead to preorder 3 dozen cream puffs and 1 dozen blueberry donut holes. Arrived today to pick up the order and the owner apologized and said they ran out of the flour to make the blueberry donuts so it wasn't available - no biggie, I mainly wanted the cream puffs. And the cream puffs definitely did not disappoint! So light and fluffy I could easily eat so many in one sitting. Will be back for more next time! $5.50/dozen. Recommended by SGV Eats on Facebook, I decided to give it a shot. Who knew that there could be a difference in donuts. Went here on a Saturday morning after filling up on $5/gallon gas. Donuts were fluffy and light. Sugar twists were the bomb. They've got a lot of croissants but didn't try them but they were huge. Definitely will be back. read more

I was going to give a 5 star because the owner is so nice! But we got moldy donuts... We came in 30 minutes before closing time (7.30pm) but the place was dark. We sat in the car, wondering if it was really closed. Then the owner turned on the light, opened the door with the mop in his hands, and he welcomed us in. We got the blueberry donut holes by his recommendation (3 bucks), the apple fritter, and the chocolate frosted donut. The total came out to 6 dollar and a few cents but the owner brushed it off to just 6 bucks, yay! He also dropped in a lot of the leftover donut holes and an extra chocolate sprinkle donut, yay! The donut holes were OK. They were soft and a little on the sweet side, but OK. We were munching on them on the way home. When we got home, we ate the rest of the donuts. The apple fritter and chocolate sprinkle tasted weird and we saw mold...I wouldn't recommend buying anything that has fruits...it gets moldy much faster. read more

Best donut shop in town. I work about 30 seconds from them and stop in often. Probably been here a hundred times. The donuts are always fresh and the owners always make you feel welcome. I can't drink caffeine but they always have a pot of decaf ready and I appreciate that. The owners see me walking up and they start pouring my coffee, they know my order. Also can't beat the price. 2.70 for a medium coffee and donut. Every donut I've had here is delicious. Sugar twist, chocolate glazed, glazed with sprinkles.. You have to stop in and experience the friendly service for yourself. Hard working people who deserve a lot of business. read more

With a continuous steady stream of customers, you can tell that San Gabriel Donut is a solid neighborhood donut spot. Try to come before 8am or else your selection of donuts may be limited. I usually get the traditional glazed donut or twist and some coffee. The donuts are light and airy inside while crunchy on the outside. Their coffee is generally mild the way I like it so if you want stronger coffee, let them know. read more

Wow.. I must have died and ended up in donut heaven because these donuts are TO DIE FORRRRRR!!! I was picking up some fish tacos Wednesday night at Fogata and decided to stop in for a treat while my food cooked and boy am I glad I did!! When I first walked in, I thought it was just another little hole in the wall donut shop but then saw the prices and almost didn't even buy. Donuts were 90cents each!! Way more than my average donut shop price but decided to pick 2 up anyway because my baby sister was in the car crying about starvation (that little drama queen!!) Picked the glazed blueberry cake donut and a glazed twist and OH MY FREAKING GOD... Both were unbelievable!! The glazed blueberry cake donut had so much freaking flavor!! We basically devoured the entire thing in 3 bites. And that glazed twist was so fluffy and magical!! It was like biting into a perfectly glazed cloud. There's seriously no other way to describe it! The donuts were so good we actually walked back into the donut shop and cleared out the rest of their blueberry stock to share with everyone back home! The owner even threw in a free tiger claw twist and maple bar since it was the end of the night! That was so nice of him! If you're ever in the area, try one of these treasures. We don't even have to drive to the OC for blueberry donuts anymore!! read more

Went in to pick up something sweet after a family tragedy. The gentleman behind the counter shared his condolences and was so kind. He provided the donut puffs complimentary because he wanted to bring some happiness into our family. I was so grateful and they were delicious. San Gabriel Donut is a true neighborhood gem! I have always wanted to stop by, and happened to be getting my car worked on at a nearby auto shop. SG Donut does not disappoint! I got glazed donuts and a croissant breakfast sandwich and they are seriously the best I've had in a long time. The donut was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the croissant was light and flakey and buttery. Everything was so good, I came back two days in a row - and the lady who helped me was super nice. I missed getting their famous blueberry donuts, so I will definitely be back again to support this local small business! read more

Stopped in for a couple of old fashioned donuts and some glaze the other day. They have all the options that you would want, glaze, cake donuts with sprinkles, maple, twists, creme filled, jam filled, donut holes. I ordered a dozen of various options and they threw in an extra tiger tail free if charge. The total came out to 10.25 for a dozen. They also have coffee and other treats to choose from as well. My donuts were good, just tasted a little stale. I didn't get them until the afternoon, probably best to go in the morning when they are fresh. Overall, a yummy treat, nice that it's so close to home. Keep in mind that the parking lot is shared with the Mexican restaurant just North of the shop, it doesn't share a lot with the plaza to the south. read more

best kept secret in San Gabriel Valley..always great drinks, made fresh.. I live in Fullerton but when I'm in the area I always stop for simple Mocha, it has a unique taste..like a chocolate rice crispy treat! Im not a regular coffee drinker but I make the exception for this spot.. oh! and always great, friendly service :) I've recommended to my friends and fam without a disappointed person yet! This is small donut shop. There's 2 outside seating for a party of 2. Not much selection after 10 am. My bf went inside to order our donuts but all the rainbow sprinkle were gone. I came in, took a minute to decide and the donut man told me he will make one for me. So nice of him :') He like, "she looks so happy, big smile." This is my family's special place whenever we want donuts. So close to our house this is our local stop in the morning, and truly is the best in town! All the donuts are made so perfectly and tastes so fresh! We are fans of their glazed, sprinkle, maple, old fashion, and the apple bear claws! My daughter and I are true fans of the donut holes that are so buttery they melt in your mouth! On the menu, I've tried their mini breakfast croissant sandwiches filled with egg, ham, cheese, and bacon. Not sure what kind of cheese they use but its really delicious! They offer strong hot or cold iced coffee, milk tea, and other boba drinks too. All delicious. This is a solid donut spot and if you live nearby San Gabriel Blvd. or in the area, I suggest making this your spot too! read more

I love the bread that they use on the sandwiches, not sure if they make it in house but it is definitely not just store brought bread at a market. And everytime I drink their juice i definitely feel good internally, it's like my body likes it. You can see them press the juices in house! The place itself has limited parking space I would say and the interior is definitely mom & pop shop vibes but those are the best places ! I would definitely recommend as well as try their tuna sandwiches because I've heard they're delicious!

The coconut milk was rich and creamy, and the dish itself wasn't overly sweet. I would definitely come back to order this. Customer service was friendly and welcoming.
