Mango aloe juice was a very legit drink. thick with mango-ness and large chuncks of aloe jellies suspended evenly throughout the drink. probably my favorite mango drink next to mango tango from volcano tea in so-cal. Milk tea was watered down. Boba was hard. you are better off getting the fruit drinks with jellies. Popcorn chicken was yummy and the spices cleared my sinuses. Coming from the land of honey boba (LA), my standards for boba and milk tea may be higher than before. Their earl grey milk tea is AMAZING. I like it better here than at Tea Station (Royal Milk Tea). I ordered it less sweet for my own taste. Their regular milk tea, however is just ok. The brown rice milk tea was weird. The sesame milk tea was unique, but not for me. The boba itself is chewy. It's not bad by any means! The pudding was good. It may seem expensive, but the default size is a large. You can downgrade to a small or a mini, The food wasn't too bad either. The popcorn chicken was delicious and wasn't too greasy. We got it with a level 4 hotness, and it was just spicy enough. We also got the cajun fries. I liked those! They were actually knife cut potatoes, not the bulk bought Ore-Ida type fries. They were seasoned with the same seasoning as the popcorn chicken. They were actually quite delicious. I've been here several times within the last couple years. I think the first drink I ever tried from them was the Earl Grey Milk Tea. It's my favorite drink that I've tried from here. Their popcorn chicken is good. Usually get mild spicy and it isn't too spicy since my friends and I can't handle too spicy foods. I haven't been here as often as I used to and the last two times I was here, I was a bit disappointed with my drinks. One time I had the Jasmine Milk Tea and asked for 50% sweetness. It was super watered down and barely sweet. Probably should stay with regular sweetness. I enjoyed their avocado smoothie in the past but the last time I ordered that, I wasn't satisfied. I'd come back here! My friend and I stopped by for a small bite and drink one night. We ordered the fried tofu and indicated a level 4 for spiciness (scale of 1-5) and both got watermelon milks. The watermelon milk was just that - watermelon and milk! Refreshing, it was, but I would prefer straight watermelon juice next time. Tofu came out piping hot and dayam, was it spicy! We're both seasoned spice heads, but I think we both agreed we'd lower the spice level next time - eating something deep-fried hot and super spicy is just not a great combo. Parking is paid metered OR residential area around the corner but it is only for 2 hours between 8am to 6pm on weekdays. Minimum of $5 for credit card charges. Wide variety of drinks. Came back to try the milk teas... had the Jasmine Milk Tea, and it turned out okay. They do have a selection of different milks... like you can choose from soy milk to whole milk. I tried both the soymilk and the nonfat... each time, I wasn't super blown away. I'm surprised they don't carry green tea (that's what I originally wanted). With either of the milk choices, my boba still turned out more watery than I am use to. The pearls itself were good though - a good chew to them. I also had the popcorn chicken. This actually made me want to give the visit a 3.75 star. The popcorn chicken comes out super warm, and I asked for extra spicy (you can pick your spice range as well)! Contrary to your expectations, there is nothing green-bubble-like to this place. No, the boba isn't green; no, it's not eco-friendly. I think the name just came from the cute logo, the bright green bubbly themed furniture, and the sheer catchiness. Got the passionfruit milk tea with boba because passionfruit is a fairly uncommon flavor. It was not bad, though the passionfruit was suspiciously aromatic and hence probably artificial. The tea itself was rather good, but in general it caters more towards sweet fruity milk tea lovers rather than true tea enthusiasts. \ Although I'm a health freak and try to avoid the empty calories/potential carcinogenic boba, I must say that the boba here is worth getting. It's chewy, delicious, and scooped in with black boba syrup that blends beautifully into your tea, creating the type of #boba Instagram that would make your friends jealous. Their regular size is huge! I believe you can only get small if you get the meal. I had the regular before dinner, and it was a terrible idea--I was stuffed after the appetizer. Despite the somewhat sketchy neighborhood, the interior is great. There's a pretty glittering menu, lots of little bright lights, colorful spherical plastic stools, pretty birch walls, and various cutesy paraphernalia. I personally think they overdo it a little because it almost feels like I'm in a video game (Anyone else think that Mr. Green Bubble could be a Mario character?!), but the ambiance is something that young people would rave about. Yay! I'm a fan. I really like Mr. Green Bubble. I've been here around 3 times now. When i first came here I was impressed with the size of the drink. You get a large cup. I guess it's because you have no option to get a smaller cup. Maybe they should allow for people to have an option for how much they want to drink. The taro smoothie tasted to powder-y if you know what I mean and the boba was way too hard - the center was still uncooked. Cute place, cute location. We got here around 8pm and parking was relatively easy to find, although I've been to this area before when it's packed. But you can always find parking within a few blocks of where you're going. They've got quite the selection of items, including bubble tea and Taiwanese snacks (like popcorn chicken). I got a pudding milk tea with less ice and 25% sugar, with mango pudding. It wasn't sweet enough but that was my mistake. Had I made it 50% sugar, I'm sure it would've been delightful. Also, their prices pleasantly surprised me! I find it hard to find good milk tea below $3.50 and this place's small milk tea was under $3! Just for that, I'll definitely be back to try their other items, like taro milk tea, and even their snacks. The popcorn chicken aroma was amazing - had I not just eaten dinner, I would've been all over their food. They also have other snacks, including eggettes. For the limited space, they did a good job separating out seating areas so they can give as many people as possible seating options in the store. And things were kept relatively clean for the high traffic the store sees. They're quick with putting out your orders so you never have to wait super long. Note: If you're finding a place to study/work, this isn't the place. They're playing loud music and it's so small a place with so much foot traffic that you'd either be distracted or you'd feel (or should feel) really bad for holding onto a seat for longer than an hour or so. The place was empty when we got there and they were getting ready to close up. It's so close to FENTONS! Since they ran out of pearls at that time, we got aloe vera instead for the TARO MILK TEA. The drink was really sweet because it was nothing but taro, not one bit of tea flavor in it. The place has great decor, free wifi, and is a great place for students to cram. The drinks are good, and they normally they give you the larger size compared to other boba shops. However, I am upset that the workers are clueless about the deals that are out there. This is my go-to spot for boba in Berkeley. I come here at least once a week to get my boba fix with my boyfriend. They have some unique flavors like hojicha (roasted green tea), Ceylon, and brown rice (roasted black tea) milk teas which I love. I usually get a milk tea with boba which comes out to $4.05 and my boyfriend gets a flavored tea with aloe which is also $4.05. The cashier was knowledgeable, especially when we asked her about sweetness levels and her favorite drinks. After we ordered, our drinks were out within 5 minutes. So don't be afraid of a long line! SEATING: There are about 5 tables where you could sit. The place is going for a modern white look, much resembling your neighborhood Yogurtland. They also have a nice collection of board games and playing cards so Green Bubble would be a chill place to hang out, except that it is located across from a high school. So the crowd it attracts consists of high school teens playing games so can get a little noisy. Also, this is located on Piedmont, a nice scenic street so I'd suggest taking your drink to go. DRINKS: Finally, the drinks. After a sip of my Almond milk tea, it was obvious that I was not in for a treat. My drink was not super flavorful and actually quite bland. The Boba was too firm and not sweet. I tried my friend's Jade Milk Tea and it was the same as mine: milky and watery (Note: they were nice enough to adjust the sweetness of my drink, but to no avail, the damage was done). I've been coming here for years. Their thai tea smoothie and fresh lemon black tea are my go to drinks. Their cash minimum for card purchase is my only gripe since I usually don't carry cash. Cool spot. It is THE place for high schoolers, so natch' my six year old loves it. Solid food. I've had both the calamari and the popcorn chicken, and I appreciate the flavor. I'm also a huge fan of the drinks and use the pineapple smoothie as a reward for my little. A TON of flavors, so I frankly feel it is smoothie central. The only feedback I have to the owners/managers is be mindful of the music videos playing during the day and early evening as aftercare is ending (5/6 pm). The location is across the street from and elementary school, and is frequently packed to the windows with little kids, pre-teens, teens, and families. My son got to see bare butt shaking in a thong today on their big screen TV. When I asked if the staff noticed they didn't seem phased (then proceeded to snicker and laugh about me to each other), but they did turn it off. I'd argue play whatever you want later at night, but perhaps adjust for the day time. I'll most certainly go back, but may not take my kid inside without taking a look at the TV first. read more

Ehh, didn't really care for it too much and it got way too sweet so I tossed it half way. I'll definitely try something else next time. What I appreciated about this spot is the cleanliness of the store. They also offer fried snacks which is pretty cool. The menu seems to have every flavor of tea you can imagine so it's pretty hard to choose which one is the "one". I've lived near and have ordered from here for over 7 years. It's always been my favorite spot to grab snacks and tea. I'd be giving a 5 star if it hasn't been for the chicken the last few months. It's been so inconsistent. I understand with Covid many aspects have changed, but the last few times I've ordered (last 3 months) the popcorn chicken had been practically inedible - it's over cooked, blackened, and dry/hard/rubbery... as if it's been sitting in a oven for hours. Such a bummer, since the chicken prior to this was amazing - great seasoning/juicy etc. I don't know if this is related to Covid/staffing/having to cook the chicken differently? Or I always get the bad batch...but it wasn't like this over summer 2020. I feel like I've given too many tries 5+, and have even asked on my order repeatedly to, please not overcook, to have it just be coincidence. I am not a fan of milk tea, but I admit that this place has quality and is convenient for people who live around the area, considering there are no other boba places within reasonable walking distance. There is wifi here too. The menu is neatly displayed on the wall. The place gets really crowded on nice-weather Saturdays. I thought the yam fries were a little dry. During less crowded hours, the service is not stressed to serve customers as quickly as possible, and they are more available to cater to the customer. Before the rush hour, I got to sample a flavor I wasn't sure I would like. Warning: They do not serve mochi waffles! This past Saturday, my fiance and I were craving mochi waffles and decided to venture from San Francisco to Oakland to get some. We searched on Yelp and read that the Oakland location served mochi waffles. We had previously tried mochi waffles at the Walnut Creek location and assumed that, because Green Bubble is a chain with 3 locations in the Bay Area, all 3 locations would serve the same items. Well, to our dismay, the cashier at the Oakland location informed us they didn't serve mochi waffles and that only the Walnut Creek and Union City locations did. Umm...really? So, my questions are: 1. Why did Yelp suggest the Oakland location as a place for mochi waffles? 2. Why is Green Bubble picking and choosing where to serve mochi waffles?
