I have been on a mission to find the best shawarma in the area, and the reviews seemed promising but the food was not. "We're like the Subway of Middle Eastern food," the workers told me when I walked in. I'm not sure I would use that as the tagline of my restaurant. My chicken shawarma bowl was about as satisfying, so they turned out to be right. I'm not sure how the chicken is cooked here because it's just sitting in a pan waiting to be scooped out, but it wasn't warm, didn't have any distinct flavor, and was nondescript. The rest of my bowl just kind of blended in. The worker recommended a red wine vinegar sauce and the hot sauce was basically red. It was worth a try, but I'm sure there is better out there. By no means close to being the best. This is like a chipotle and you can't do that with middle eastern food. I typically go to Cedar Cafe or Kabob House in warren and they blow these guys out of the water. The staff are very nice however, and the place is super clean! Food isn't bad, but not great. Chicken isn't tender at all, I don't think they use the "halal" or what not. A chicken kabob dinner is nowhere to be found on the menu, you have to order a "bowl" as if you are at chipotle. I insisted to go with the bowl and it was pretty much 5 pieces of hard chicken breast on a bed of lettuce and pickle. I also ordered the smallest fattoush salad given that I thought I'm getting a dinner. 18 bucks later for the smallest cup of salad and 5 bites of chicken. Will not be back! read more

I was an avid goer here for a while. Unfortunately the last couple visits were no good. The quality of the meat was awful. I barely got any chicken shawarma in my bowl. The meat that was there was literally all FAT and dark brown. It was not edible. Felt like a total waste of money and there are other Mediterranean restaurants that serve higher quality meat in the area I'm sure. I have being eating middle eastern my whole life and know good quality shawarma when I see/eat it. Overall, For the price of their bowls, they shouldn't be so scimpy with the meat and give you better quality. read more

What a great concept they have going on here! A choose your own middle eastern sit down or carry out place. The food was amazing and in a great location in Troy. My sister recommended them to me back when they only had their Berkley location and I'm so glad I finally remembered this place. It's great to be able to pick all your favorite sides/toppings without having to order extra plates like at other restaurants. This review is long overdue! I work from home 15miles away and anytime I leave the house for lunch, it's to meet my husband here. Build your own bowl, salad or wrap concept. All the of ingredients are fresh and top notch. It's so hard to choose and at the end I have a heaping salad bowl that's the most pleasing lunch! How I do it up - start with a little garlic/hummus base, pile on the salad (no grains- not needed but they look delish), grilled veggies, cucumber/tomato mix, tabouleh, beets, feta, banana peppers, olives, meat (have tried the gyro, chic Schwarma, beef and falafel- can't go wrong, usually the hardest decision I make while there) and house dressing. This place is fantastic. I really enjoy finally having a healthy option to eat on my lunch break. It's basically a chipotle style Mediterranean restaurant that allows you to chose your toppings for a bowl or a wrap. I'm never able to finish the entire bowl because there's just so much food. I also really like the fresh juice options. The staff are very friendly, the dining area is clean and well maintained, and the owner was concerned about my overall experience the first time I came in. Literally pains me to write this because the food is good. But lately the lids to the containers that they use now are really cheap and do not stay in the bowl. This has happened to me two time I came there and once they put the bowl in the bag the lid comes off and the food breaks through the bag. After the second time I called them to see if this is happening with multiple people and I was informed that yes this has been an issue. She said basically the owner had to order the cheap containers because of money with the Covid pandemic. Totally understand but if this is happening to multiple people it's like yeah sorry about your food ending up on the ground but we are saving money on containers. Being able to choose from so many fresh sauces, vegetables, meat and toppings was fun (the staff helped us make our selections and were super friendly), and the resulting bowl was delicious and filling. I have been to their other location in Berkeley and knew that this place would not disappoint and it does not. Like others mentioned, this is a Chipotle style Mediterranean food concept. You start by picking a bowl or a wrap and from there, you customize based on your preferences. This is a great Paleo find. It isn't hard to avoid grains and wheat here if you build a salad bowl and load with toppings. This is definitely more pricier than Chipotle and other Mediterranean options but it is delicious and worth it. The bowls are generously sized and I can make at least 2 meals out of it. This is also a more relatively healthy option for a quick meal. I'd recommend checking them out if you have been a fan of their Berkeley location or if you want a quick healthy meal! read more

I called the Troy location and ordered off their catering menu. We ordered the best package, I think it was the superior package at $14.99 per person.
