I've been to the other location, I was glad when this branch opened because it's closer to me. The ambiance is similar to the other locations, which is good. The tv is playing kpop groups, just like the other branches. There's a huge selection of Soju. There's also a ramen section with a lot of ramen to choose from. I went to this place with me and my friend. We were soooo excited looking at the pics, and wanted to go! it looked fun, the throne on the inside, the fun vibes etc. We love these places. We go with high hopes, with a pre-called reservation and then get told they "dont do reservations." after calling and confirming i spoke to the manager. I budger one of the guys to let us in, because you know, Im a boss. The meat was mid, the radish slices were mid, the kimchi tasted off and everything was just not good. Even the drinks were just inproperly mixed. To top off this, we were checked in by our waiter a ungodly amount of times. Like 2 times every 10 minutes. We were being visibly WATCHED like a hawk, by this korean/chinese lady, peeking from a corner the entire time. The busboy, waiter, every employee was just staring at us two. Went here with some friends for the first time. We saw that it was a All You Can Eat with a standard and premium option. Premium was everything on standard with seafood and some other items included. Service was quick and they changed out our grates very regularly. The dining area was very spacious, but it was hard to hold a conversation with my group as K-pop music was blasting and I could barely hear my friend who was sitting across from me. We wanted to try everything, and for the most part everything tasted great. The only real negatives I would say I had was, when we ordered the intestines, they didn't tell us how long we were supposed to cook it. We thought light browning and that would be good enough, but then then the server came by and told us it should be cooked longer. We also ordered the seafood and it was a little disappointing. The octopus and squid just looked like they had the Korean hot sauce gochujang poured on top. Problem with that was once they were put on the grill, the sauce burnt away and the taste was bland after that. My table over indulged on the pork belly options and I would have been happy with just that. Great taste and has that delicious fatty taste. The last thing my group joked about was that in a corner of the restaurant, there was a instant ramen convivence store type thing (you choose the ramen, pour in the hot water, add your addons). Just had lunch at the new Mr. Kimchi location. It's a great location with plenty of seating compared to the first two locations. Service was awesome during lunch. Plenty of staff that was attentive all throughout. Happy with the meat selection for lunch. Fan of their bulgogi and their Korean Fried chicken. The cheese corn and egg casserole were great too. I was so happy they opened this location. Located across from Golf Mills. Plenty of parking. Came in on a Sunday for a late lunch. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. I've been to other Mr. Kimchi locations and this location was very spacious. My favorite is the galbi and the pork belly. This location had a ramen wall which I thought was very interesting. We ordered brisket, pork belly, and galbi off of the premium menu. Brisket was okay, but pork belly slices had way too much fat. Galbi quality was decent, but the marinade was overly salty. Service was mediocre. Our server dumped all of the brisket onto the grill without asking us, and that caused a huge oil splatter and the meat burned because the grill was too hot. Another one of our servers dumped the galbi onto a freshly changed grill without asking us or allowing the grill to heat up -- Meat basically was steamed instead of grilled. Ambiance was awful. There was absolutely no ventilation despite there being vents. A constant cold draft was also coming through from the side of the vent. Almost every diner there had their winter coats on while dining. 10/10 would not recommend read more

Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. In particular, one older female staff member behaved in a very rude and unprofessional manner. While I was simply standing at the beverage station to fill my drink, she approached me and asked in a very disrespectful tone which table I was sitting at. Her behavior made me feel offended and uncomfortable. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect, not as if I do not belong in the restaurant. Although the food was excellent, the poor attitude and lack of professionalism from the staff--especially the older woman--greatly affected my overall experience. Spent my wife and I's birthday at Mr kimchi. A little dinner date for us as we love KBBQ. The food was very good as expected! Our initial server (didn't remember his name) as we were ordering the side dishes he stopped my wife midway and said I got it and walked away. Kinda rude in our opinion as weren't even done ordering. But things changed as Ted and Jackson took over. Jackson was very nice and polite and Ted was phenomenal and was very friendly. They definitely changed the review from 3 star to 5 star. At the end of the night we had good food and had a good time hence the 5 star. I would def recommend this place for any type of gathering or just a little date night with your special someone. read more

Honestly, was super excited when they opened this location but ended up being pretty disappointed. Food quality in general was pretty good, but the overall experience was not that great. I'm used to samjang & sesame oil w/ salt being the default sauces but you have to ask for it. They're pretty stingy with the sesame oil too, and have almost have no salt in it. I have to ask for a refill and extra salt soooo often. Maybe overthinking it but seeing that thousand island dressing as the default gives off the impression that they're trying to appeal to more of an American palate. It's giving Iron Age vibes lmao The servers/workers were very nice and kind but the service was a bit rough. It feels like it takes forever to order more meat and sides. Then when you finally get your meat, the amount feels small so you finish it super fast and then it continues this cycle of waiting forever for the next round. They're very particular about the heat settings of the grill. They almost always have it too low at first and I usually turn it up which I honestly don't mind and it's not a big deal. What gets me is that they get mad or annoyed when I turn it up. But how can the meat even cook if the setting's too low?? It'll take like 5 business days for the meat to even change color with that low of a setting. I will say it seems like they've been understaffed and I think they just need to find their footing since this location just opened. Take my review with a grain of salt cuz honestly, maybe I've been too spoiled by BBQ Garden and how plentiful & quickly available the meat, sides, and sauces are. I know BBQ garden is not your typical spot since their banchan is buffet style. I've been so spoiled by that so maybe idk what the standard is for typical kbbq spots are anymore lol I may need to try the older Mr Kimchi locations again to compare my experience. You can't always expect a place to feel like 5 stars when they're brand new so I'm still open to come to this location and give them a chance after a few months when they're more settled in. read more

I'm so happy Mr. Kimchi finally opened another location! I heard so much on about them but never wanted to wait at the Mount Prospect locations. This Niles location is great because I would come up north to shop for groceries then eat dinner afterwards at a Korean restaurant. I came here last Saturday with some friends after snowboarding/skiing and it was AMAZING! We waited like an hr for a table of 7 when we got there around 6:45pm. Not too bad a wait even though the restaurant was still semi empty near the back. I think they were understaffed which is fine since the restaurant just opened less than 2 weeks ago! There was a tiny wait before we had our first order in, but afterwards Ted our server was super attentive and responsive! He was quick with getting our orders/notifying us about when our egg casseroles were going to come out. The food blew us away! We chose the premium menu and it was PHENOMENAL. Pork belly was good, bulgogi was good, brisket was amazing, and everything else WERE like perfect! Gwon, the manager was super nice to us. He greeted us when we were waiting and kept checking up on us throughout the whole dining experience. Even at the end when we were leaving, he greeted us again and said goodbye formally. I cannot wait to come back to this place. We finally have a legit KBBQ place outside Chicago and the price is SUPER reasonable/worth. I love it is so spacious inside including the bar area where it allows people to kind of sit around and wait. The ramen bar area is supposed to open up soon which reminds you of being able to enjoy a cup of ramen of your choice after a spa in Korea. read more
