I'd give 4 stars for SGD Tofu & BBQ Restaurant. It's located inside the H Mart Grocery Store in Niles in their food court. The menu is huge, and the food that I tried was delicious. I was able to try their beef dumplings, their beef bulgogi plate, and their bulgogi bento box. All of the food was amazing, especially the meat for the bulgogi, good quality pieces and marinated very well - a ton of flavor and 100% authentic. They are on the pricier side, but they do give you a lot of food. I'd recommend if you're in H Mart - get the bulgogi for sure!

Service was friendly but a bit slow. I'll take slow though as long as the food is good--it was. I had the pork belly with kimchi. The pork belly was not soggy, nicely browned and seasoned. It sat atop a bed of kimchi and onions. It also came with a kimchi side dish and some soy marinated radish. Great food. A bit overpriced imo. The restaurant is in the Super H Mart food court so not much as far as ambiance.

My family and I recently moved to a place near H-mart in Niles location. As SGD Dubu (so gong dong) can be found in many different locations in IL as it is a franchise restaurant, but! this SGD Dubu place serves the most well prepared and very delicious SGD Dubu soup the way it should taste. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely visit again!! Thank you for the delicious food !!

The service was super fast, and there was plenty of seating inside of HMart to enjoy the fresh hot meal. Portions are large, so bring $.50 for take home containers, cash only for those. Perfect for a quick filling meal before shopping.

I love silky tofu soup! I like it spicy as well, so I picked level of spiciness as 4 Spicy out of 1-5, with beef. And ordered a kimchi pancake. I appreciate the crunchy edge of the pancake, but the taste of it was blend, and the soup too, unfortunately had very blend taste. They need to use richer broth that takes longer time and more effort. We barely touched the soup as it was just.. blend. I don't even know how else I describe them. They opened not too long ago and I do wish them success tho.

Compared to the Tokyo Lunch Boxes and What A Dumpling, I would say this location of SGD Tofu and Bbq restaurant has great value. You get that tofu stew, a bowl of white rice, an egg to put in the tofu stew, and the 3 banchan dishes. Food quality was above par. Service was very friendly and fast. Since it's in a food court, they have plenty of seating. Prices were fair and inexpensive.

This SGD Tofu restaurant inside H Mart is amazing! The food was so delicious and authentic! Portion sizes are very generous and taste just as great as other So Gong Dong locations. I've been going to the Glenview and Schaumburg locations for years and it seems like the Niles location just opened. Excited to see more SGD in the Chicagoland area and definitely will be back every time I get groceries at H Mart :)

Soondubu seafood prices are reasonable. Always full on mornings every weekend. One of my lists of Korean restaurants.

Most classic Korean dishes are available and the food comes out pretty quickly. We ordered neang myon, mackerel, and the seafood pancake/pah-geon. A nice variety of side dishes/banchan comes out shortly after ordering. The cold noodles were perfectly cold and there was hot mustard and vinegar to customize. The fish was perfectly grilled and savory. The seafood pancake was crisp, savory, and had more veggies than typically seen. All of the food was delicious. The only knock was that the appetizer and entrees all came out at the same time. Large portions with good prices make this such a great value too!

I already had some Kalbi marinating at home so I figured I do something that isn't too Korean to save those flavors for later. I saw that they had a beef udon soup on the menu so I figured that would be nice and comforting. They also have a bunch of fried food on the shelf next to the counter and they will actually heat it up for you. The fried squid was warm and crunchy but the squid was tender. The soup was very filling. It was a lot of food considering you also get an assortment of pickles with it. While waiting for the food, I did notice that they have pho available so I'll definitely have to try that for next time.

My friend and i ate here based on the reviews and will say i would normally give this 2 stars BUT…read morethe service was so outstanding that I bumped it up to 3. First impression walking in was NOT great. We immediately smelled what can only be described as a VERY DIRTY bathroom smell. Other than the smell which we couldn't stop smelling until we ate and had some wine. The server was great to let us know that it was half off bottles of wine. And since the glass we initially wanted they didn't have this was a great option for us. We weren't able to finish the bottle so the server closed it up and sealed it in a bag for us to take with us. (Tuscan blend which was delicious) We ordered the Lobster Bisque to share to start with. The server/kitchen were kind enough to split it for us into two bowls. Overall the soup was good but NOT great. Then we ordered a bone in Ribeye (22oz) which came with crispy new potatoes and some some sautéed brocollini. We ordered the steak Medium Rare, it came out Medium + and since we were never checked in with on the temperature we ate it anyhow. The flavor was good but definitely far overcooked. The crispy new potatoes were perfectly crispy and the broccolini was sautéed and cooked very well. At the end of the day the service saved our experience. BUT because of the smell and the mis-cooked steak we would not return.

I gave it 4 stars as there isn't a 1/2 star option--I would have given this review a 3.5 star…read morerating. We went on a Saturday night. We arrived early for our reservation and were taken right in. We ordered two appetizers, the bacon & potato croquettes and the corn bread in the iron skillet. They were both very good. I had the Prime Rib, it was flavorful and brought out exactly how I wanted it--rare. My daughter had the rotisserie chicken and was very pleased with her meal. My wife had the Pike Place Salmon with the smashed cucumbers. She would order it again. The skillet cookie we ordered to share for dessert was very undercooked. It was just a smidgeon over raw dough. While it had the ice cream, it didn't have the caramel the menu advertised. A few more minutes in the oven would have solved the raw dough issue The server was obviously new and had some missteps. He was late to greet the table in a half full restaurant. The drinks had a late arrival-after the appetizers had arrived and never came back to check on the table. It also took an inordinate amount of time to find him to get the check then having him return with the receipt. The restaurant was very clean and tidy, extra points given for having immaculate restrooms. Some suggestions: Perhaps another potato option(s) besides mashed or fries. A loaded baked potato would have been perfect with my Prime Rib. Have another soup(s) offered on the menu besides the soup du jour.

Sent out deserts and didn't bother to clear the dinner plates that were obviously finished. And didn't give the kids spoons for their ice cream right away so it melted by the time it was received. Also, no birthday candles on hand?! Put kids hot hot food directly in front of them bc the table was full of menus. Why not help clear the table and make some room? Had to ask for extra plates multiple times for our massive, to share desert. The kicker. Charged us for kids meals when they are free before 6. When we asked they removed from bill. But this is the second time this has happened here. I am beginning to think the policy is to charge unless the patron brings it up. Sad because the atmosphere here is lovely.
