Large Chicken Parm Mac and Cheese
    Maria G.

Oh. My. God. This place is as good as I remember. I haven't been in at least 10 years- I moved out of the area- but now that I am back, I can foresee this is going to be a problem! Service is fast and friendly! The place is cute with lots of seating! And the Macs. Let's talk about how many options??? Holy cow. I got my contractor the Large Chicken Parm Mac and Cheese. I think it weighed at least 5lbs. When the person handed it to me, I actually started laughing. It was HUGE! It smelled SO good! The review is a 10/10! Oh- and did I mention there is a drive through?!! So many problems this can cause me lol

The 4 1/2 star rating seems accurate to me. Really good chicken and mac. Service was friendly and helpful. Definitely hit the spot. Would return when/if in the area.

Great food! Surprised is an understatement! Portions were huge. One meal could easily feed two. The employees were very helpful guiding us through the menu since we had never visited. They were polite despite us arriving close to closing time. Loved the wall with customer/fan art. I wish more restaurants had a fan base like this. Would recommend!

Interesting concept! Great tummy filling gooey goodness. This place was hopping! You order at the counter but then they serve you, and check on you. My pulled pork Mac was heavenly. And the American classic ?? was oozing with melty cheese. Absolutely delicious!! Huge menu, you can't go wrong.

My husband and I are in town looking for a quick place to have dinner before settling in for the night and came across Mr.Mac's. There's nothing more comforting than mac and cheese, and here they offer many varieties of the classic favorite. We split the blazon buffalo and it has the right amount of kick. Even though we shared, we still had plenty left and needed a to go box. The place was clean and the staff checked in on us. Not a bad choice if you're in Manchester.

They serve traditional American diner fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a coffee/espresso counter with bakery goods and offers cocktails and mocktails. There is also an outside French fries pickup window on the Cat Alley side of the building, which was already opened for a few weeks. The dining space has rows of tables and counter seating and 4 flatscreen TVs in the front. I stopped by the Statesman City Diner on opening day for an early morning breakfast. There is ample free street parking before 8am in front of the diner. The place just opened for business as the staff was still learning things like the getting familiar with the Toast POS system and handheld portable ordering devices. I was able to seat myself at a table and was given a breakfast menu to look over. I requested an ice water and decided on the Jr. Statesman Open Face Salmon Omelette ($15 plus tax) with 3 way homefries and raisin toast. The food arrived to my table in about 20 minutes after ordering. The omelette was a folded firm scrambled egg with salmon (lox) and ricotta cheese. The 3 way homefries were seasoned and grilled with yellow potatoes, blue potatoes, and sweet potatoes. The buttered raisin toast had a nice sugar coating. The portion size was good, taste of food was good, but the omelette and homefries were not very hot. I did request a to-go box for half the omelette and toast so I could eat later at work. The check with Toast QR code was presented which was $16.28 with tax and before tip. Overall, since the place is very new, the staff (front & back) is on a learning curve with regards to the Toast ordering system (it was offline for a bit), speed of service, and temperature of the food. They are still working things out and may be closed several days at a time.

One thing that gives me pause is the sides. More than once I've noticed the dates on the containers are already in the past. Maybe it's harmless, maybe it's not. Either way, I'm not adventurous enough to turn macaroni and cheese into a science experiment, so I tend to stick with the chicken. As an added bonus, it's not located on South Willow Street, which I avoid like it's part of my cardio routine. Ironically, South Willow has enough chicken restaurants to establish its own poultry-based governing body, but I'm a creature of habit, so I keep coming back to USA Chicken and a Biscuit. The staff are always friendly, efficient, and seem to keep things moving, which is appreciated when you're hungies and your patience is operating on low battery. As for the décor? It's exactly what you'd expect from a chicken place. NGL, nobody is walking in expecting an Architectural Digest photo shoot or interior design awards displayed on the walls. Waitress was nice enough, but a bit distracted and we had to repeat our order a couple of times. Wait seemed long. We all liked aspects of their food, but didn't like others. The hash browns had zero flavor/seasoning and were a bit soggy. They were the base of my meal, so it was very disappointing. The kielbasa in it was browned nicely, but didn't make up for it. My husband's omelette oddly had a Kraft single melted on the top of it. C'mon. The "pan potatoes" were hard, dry, and uniform, clearly frozen. Again, not a lot of seasoning. Homefries should shine in a breakfast meal! Chili in the omelette tasted suspiciously like Hormel in a can. He did enjoy the biscuit and gravy, and that's hard to make happen. My daughter thought the sourdough was good. It was over $100.00 for our meal, the prices were a little steep, especially for what they were - average breakfast food, at best. I feel bad saying that, but there didn't seem to be a lot of pride in the food.
