Wow! Visiting from Tennessee, and this came up on a Yelp search for local restaurants as we were trying to decide where to have supper. I asked my friends if they had been here, and they said they had not but had wanted to try it. So I said let's go, and I was not disappointed! The reviews on here are spot on. Mr. Mac's is a cozy place with a great selection of mac and cheese. It was so hard to decide which ones to try. We ended up getting a classic, a lobstah, and a mozzarella stick between us and passed them around for everyone to taste. All were very very tasty, and I can't say that I had a favorite. There were several others I wanted to try, so this will become a regular stop on visits back to NH. Very friendly service, cozy atmosphere, great comfort food, and a wonderful evening of socializing. It's alright. The portions are enormous even if you get a small, so that's great, and leftovers heat up VERY well - but I don't often order from here. I really like the buffalo mac and the jalapeño popper, but everything else I've tried (which isn't a lot but enough for me to comment on it) is sorta bland, especially the garden veggie, and they can be kinda pricey. Personally, I would have been comfortable sharing but that wouldn't suit everyone. We also had "small" salads that were very large. I really liked the vegetables, cheese, and olives on my Greek salad. There were two small problems. First, the dressing was missing from my wife's garden salad. Second, and I don't want to overplay this, my wife may have had a minor gluten reaction. To be fair, on calling in my order there was sufficient warning that they don't have a dedicated facility for gf but they do their best. Why are there only four locations!!!! I was off on a Sunday drive with my wife and three youngest children when someone spotted a roadside restaurant sign on I93 just north of Manchester New Hampshire. A Mac & Cheese only restaurant? Could it be? My eight- and thirteen-year old's thought they must have died and gone to heaven and immediately started bouncing up and down in their seats. With that level of excitement, how could I say no, besides, I had to see how a restaurant could focus on pasta and cheese sauce. I am soo glad we stopped. Warning, this place should have a disclaimer and require a signed waiver for anyone with a heart condition, cholesterol issues, or adult-onset diabetes. The menu is a good-sized selection of various mac & cheese offerings. If you want a side salad, they also have a half a dozen cold Mac & Cheese macaroni salad offering. If you are feeling guilty there are a few salad choices that involve vegetables, cowards! Lest I forget they have a few draft beers and hard cider to wash it all down. Service: A++ If you have read any of my reviews you know I am big on service. First, where did they find the young people, teens, and early twenties, working here? Our visit was February 13, 2023 around 6 lish on a rainy Tuesday. Being relatively new to Manchester, this was to be our first visit to Mr. Mac's...it's been on our list for awhile! We ordered the Blazin' Buffalo Chicken and the Pulled Pork Mac entrees. The portion selection was Small, Medium and Large- serving 1, 2-3 and large serving up to 5. My wife chose the small and I chose a medium. We called in our order for pick up and it was ready when we arrived. Nice and hot! The small Pulled Pork Mac was the perfect size for one. It had a slight smoky flavor, a sweeter tasting sauce and the shredded pork was very tasty. The medium Blazing Buffalo Chicken portion was definitely enough for 2 nice sized pieces, serving 2. There's 3 kid sized servings, imo. Plenty of Mac and cheese and the shredded chicken was plentiful, seemed tender. Unfortunately, if you're looking for blazing buffalo chicken...this wouldn't be it. Blazing Buffalo Chicken should be good for a little forehead sweat. The place was very clean and organized. We were acknowledged a soon as we came in. Pricing was fair and we would recommend.
