This is a true mom and pop kind of place. It's not fancy, it's well-worn, but clean and the food is pretty good. Had the Joe's special. The ground beef was tasty. English muffin was properly toasted ( You'd be surprised how many breakfast places under toast their English muffins). Really enjoyed the friendly service and mom and pop atmosphere. It's definitely a classic breakfast joint in the best of ways. I had Mr. Mom's special and it was really good served with home made salsa that was delicious. Kids had pancakes and husband had a classic breakfast. The food was prepared well - they do it right! Place was clean and busy and the service was great. My husband drinks decaf and the waitress made a fresh pot and put it back by our table so she could get him refills easily. So happy we stopped in here for breakfast. It was really a mom and pop setup, where they offered to make something that wasn't available on the menu that day. Great sense of humor. Unfortunately, the waitress was very rude. I come from years of waitressing and understand the work behind it, but it was very slow, and she just had a really bad attitude. Our hashbrowns were saturated in oil, my husband who will eat anything in front of him, couldn't even eat them. She didn't even offer to remake them or ask if we'd like anything else, it was just tough luck. Too bad, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unfortunately. read more

I change my review from 5 star to 1 star because today I purchased biscuits and gravy. Well the gravy tasted very different. Made poorly with almost no bacon and yes you can taste the difference. Very delicious I've been here several times before and I kid you not it's great. I am a big fan of breakfast and brunch and this is definitely a great spot for homemade food. I was introduced to this all American Cafe (Strong and proud!) It is a little outdated but that's the best part, I love how most of the time you will see our Veterans having a great meal. Everyone is so friendly including the owner she's amazing and the service is excellent! Like I said before I'm a light eater, I ordered regular coffee with the (lighter portions available). Came here for on 12/10/17 with a friend who recommended it. This is the first time I've been here and was pleasantly surprised. They have their own parking lot so no need to worry about parking issues, they are small but busy and they have outdoor seating for those days when the weather is nice. Our waitress was very pleasant (Ashley) and attentive. I had the biscuits & gravy with bacon & eggs. Most of the time when you have bacon out in a restaurant it usually is pretty flimsy and under cooked so I always ask for crispy bacon and this time was no exception. And generally I've found that even with asking for crispy bacon you still get some what of a flimsy piece of bacon but not in this case. This cook knew exactly how to make a crispy piece of bacon (or rather 4 pieces in this case!). It was perfect, made to perfection! The biscuits were fluffy and the gravy tasty! For the eggs I had scrambled eggs, some parts of it was a little runnier then I would've liked but I just pushed those pieces aside. Didn't want to send it back and risk having to wait a while for it's return. Again, it was just a few little piece but not a big deal. Our meals came out fast and hot, and as I stated, Ashley was very attentive so we were never without coffee or water, and she checked to make sure everything was good. Asked for soft boiled eggs, as a breakfast place it's really disappointing to see an inability to preform some of the culinary basics related to breakfast. Here is a BASIC recipe you can easily follow; Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Using a slotted spoon, carefully lower eggs into water one at a time. Cook 6 1/2 minutes, adjusting heat to maintain a gentle boil. Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water and chill until just slightly warm, about 2 minutes. I went to Denny's and they made them Perfectly. It's really to bad when Denny's sets the bar out of reach. Service was wonderful, Jade was outstanding and a delight. 5/5 Food was a little lackluster at times; pork chops were slightly over salted, and over cooked. The Jam is delicious and peresame with the biscuits, gravy is very basic no too much flavor and a little too thick might just be the batch. The bacon is tasty but floppy and greasy. Eggs again Denny's does better. Biscuits were fluffy and delightful. Paired with the jam almost a dessert. 5/5 stars for biscuits. read more

Solid menu of eggs and sandwiches (breakfast all day!) at very reasonable prices, cooked right in front of you. The decor has not been touched since 1972, but it's clean and friendly and the folks that are eating there have been keeping it their little secret for a long time. For lunch I had a BLT. A good BLT is a work of art. Just a couple ingredients but when put togehter properly, you have yourself a great sandwich. They make a good BLT. Nicely toasted bread, thick cut bacon, lots of fresh lettuce and a ripe tomato. And you can get fresh fruit as a side and they don't charge you a fortune for it. I had a minced egg dish for brunch --- what I would call a scramble. Generous portion, lots of add-in options, lots of choices for sides. There is no ambiance, but the food makes up for it (with no line and no pretension and constantly full cup of coffee). And when the cook had a quiet moment, he was cleaning - always a sign of a well-run place. read more

Prepare for a biased review because Mr. Moms is my happy place and has been for at least 5 years. It has seen some struggle like every small business these last few years, but I don't think I've ever eaten somewhere where you can taste the love in every bite, wether you get a juicy burger or a breakfast combo (ask for potato cakes!!!) We stopped by this adorable small town feel cafe for breakfast. We were greeted by the most friendly staff. The place was very busy with the breakfast crowd. We sat at the counter and got excellent service. We got to watch the busy kitchen staff make their magic. I had the Joes Special - excellent choice. For my side I had the famous family recipe of the potato pancakes. They are like a crispy on the outside soft on the inside mashed potato pancake. I also had a Bloody Mary which was delish! Where do I start; the food was incredible! I got the waffle and my friend got the french toast and both were fluffy and tasty and unforgettable. At another time I got the bacon benedict and it was perfectly cooked! We also got the 16oz mimosas and ordered another round because we downed the first ones so fast! The service was also great! Servers are super friendly and the hostess greets you right when you walk in the door and gets you all set up! It's always fun talking to Midge and seeing her and Tony cooking up breakfast or lunch behind the breakfast bar. The prices don't compare to anywhere else around town, very reasonable. Hungry for breakfast we found this little diner near my brothers on Yelp. My husband and had driven by a million times in the past. I am happy to report, we had a good meal. The staff greeted us with smiles and a bit of a drawl. I felt like I was at Mel's diner. These folks were super nice. They knew all the names of the regulars. And, greeted them with hugs. We went here for breakfast today and after waiting 20 minutes we got a seat inside and ordered. I had two pancakes and 4 pieces of bacon, my girlfriend had the Joe's Special. First off the prices are very reasonable but the downside to that is the portions are very small!! Now let's get to the taste of the food. My pancakes we're burnt and they tasted terrible!! I had a hard time cutting through them with my fork. It was one of the worst pancakes I have ever had. I just left them on the plate uneaten. Now the bacon was uncooked on the ends and down some of the strips of the bacon so I just pulled that off and left it on the plate. By the way our meal took a long time to get to our table and it was all cold/ luke warm. The Joe's Special tasted ok but nothing special!! This was our first and last time to eat here. If you want great, fresh, hot food and descent portions then try Fandees Restaurant in Sebastopol, Skillets Restaurant in Windsor, Piner Cafe in Santa Rosa, Northwood Restaurant just outside of Guernville, Sam's Foreplay in Santa Rosa or Don Taylor's in Santa Rosa and Windsor just to name a few. read more

My kids and I were just passing through town on our way to the beach when we found this sweet little spot. We all had breakfast and the food was great. I wasn't a huge fan of the sourdough toast, but that's just me. Our server was fabulous! Didn't catch her name, but she was the young one with the tattoos. My favorite greasy spoon in Petaluma. Maybe (maybe) in part because they are walking distance, although there is plenty of parking if you aren't that lucky. The food is diner food. Some cooks are better than others, but I always enjoy my meal. The portions are more than this healthy eater can finish whether I'm enjoying the pigs in blankets, the corn beef hash, or a simple eggs and bacon breakfast. The hash browns are the crunchy shredded kind and the biscuits and gravy classic. The service is always great even when they're slammed and clearly shorthanded. And there are devoted regulars.
