First, I'm questioning the cleanliness of the restaurant. The sandwich maker was wearing a very dirty uniform shirt and literally sweating dripping bullets on his face. I watched intently to make sure sweat did not drip off his face and into the food. I asked for Dijon, deli, or brown mustard and all they carry is yellow mustard. The sweaty employee told me he's never known them to have deli mustard. I know they did at one point, though. I originally tried using the app to order ahead, and it was difficult to navigate if you want to customize your sandwiches. Three years ago, this location was better quality. They really need to revisit their business practices and appearance. I know prices have gone up everywhere, but $41 for two full sized and one Sammie sandwiches is just too much. The poor reviews surprise me. My co-workers and I have been here several times and have had no issues. We order on-line, there are no mistakes, our orders are ready when we get there. They have limited vegetarian options, but more than most sandwich places. I generally order the vegan on a whole wheat roll and add pepper jack. it's a lovely lunch. especially with the included, still warm, soft baked chocolate chip cookie! read more

Closed 30 minutes prior to closing on sign and sign still said open. The employee said it was closed and forgot to turn off the sign and didn't lock up. What can you say about an amazing sandwich when you know you know? The staff is always super friendly always asking if I need anything else on my sandwich even though ingredients are written on the glass of what's to come, but they always ask if you want something extra the things I forget like all the drinks or the chips but the fresh ingredients and the garlic sauce is worth the drive. read more

Surprisingly really bad. My husband's beef and cheddar sandwich on sliced sourdough that was really stale. How can you have stale bread in the middle of the day? Wouldn't the preparer notice that the bread was stale? I ordered a turkey and Jack with the works on Rye and something was really off. Not sure if it was the turkey or the works but I ended up spitting it out. $15 sandwiches should be awesome! The Hot T at Mr. Pickle's in Martinez is my new favorite! The warm turkey with melted Pepper Jack is already great, but the mix of Baja sauce and cranberry takes it to another level. This mr pickles location out ranks all the others. Orders are always perfect, well made and on time. Have never had an issue with anything at this location. Sandwiches are super fresh and are never skimp with ingredients. My absolute favorite is the Italian on sweet roll with extra veggies. The garlic sauce and Italian dressing are a perfect flavor combination. The free cookie is always a bonus too. I prefer my cookies on the softer chewy side but while these are rarely soft, they do have a perfect ratio of chocolate chips. Can't complain with free! But, when I opened it up, the bread looked pale and didn't have the brown crunch on it, I took a bite and it was not good..the dough was doughy and chewy and maybe it was undercooked bread. I ate half and decided to take it home to toast to see if it helped..it didn't. Felt too chewy and doughy still. I had better Dutch crunch bread elsewhere...Maybe I got a bad batch? The high counter which prevents the customer from seeing the sandwich while it's being made always lends itself to a "Hail Mary" experience when getting a sandwich here. For my family and I, one of the most important aspects of a sandwich shop is their bread; and this place has great sourdough rolls (our favorite). Soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, slightly chewy, and sour! After trying this place out, and introducing it to my parents, this has become their go to spot when they want sandwiches. It used to be Togos across the way, but they have fallen off. They started carrying sourdough and toasting them, but other than the Pastrami (#9) its just not worth it. Ingredients are good, and ordering online is simple. Customize your sandwiches like you want, add/remove condiments, whatever you need. They happened to get my order wrong this time around, made me a half instead of a whole, but charged for a whole. I made a call back within minutes, and the lady who packed my food, tall blonde, remembered, apologized, and said they would make it right the next time. Paired with the fact that she adjusted my phone number to account for points (I put my # instead of my mom's, and she switched it on the online order so my mom could claim the points), what more can you ask for in terms of customer service? People make mistakes, we are all human. All in all, a great place to grab a bite. Try their signature, or build your own.... it's hard to say what's good or not, because like pizza, everyone's sandwich preferences are different. For some reason my children became obsessed with Mr. Pickles. I think their dad may have taken them here once and they just couldn't stop talking about it. One day I had limited time and had to be at a school event so we decided to grab a sandwich for dinner. I will say that the kids meals are decently priced. They like a turkey with mayo and cheese and white bread. I ordered the Italian, sadly he forgot the Italian dressing and few other crucially Italian ingredients. This place is hit or miss. Majority of the time they mess up my sandwich but surprisingly they didn't this time! Instead, they made my sandwich on the hardest piece of bread. I got the dutch crunch and would compare it to a large piece of crouton. It was definitely the hardest piece of bread I've ever had for a sandwich.
