I ordered the mushroom flatbread to-go as a guilty pleasure on a "quick" lunch break. Service was mediocre. Not many people in line, but it took just over 20 minutes to get my food. It felt much longer. I understand there are DoorDash orders to be attentive too, but I observed a crew that just moved about slowly. If you care about ambience, it's not great. The flatbread was overcooked (burnt), and the mushrooms tasted like they should have been tossed the day before. I will not be going back to this particular store. Absolutely delicious! While my family was checking out the city, we stopped by to get a quick bite. The cashier was so patient because we were super indecisive. However, we ordered 3 sandwiches and a Mac n cheese. My sandwich was an Italian (not toasted) with pepperjack cheese and it was scrumptious!! My sister got the smoked brisket and loved it. Definitely confused as to the lack of stars Sourdough & Co has here on Yelp! I'm the pickiest of the picky and even I was able to find something to obsess about from S & C: the best damn Greek salad I've had in a while! I happened upon this spot because my job placed a lunch order for all of us lovely staff members (and even the un-lovely ones) and TBH, I was worried at first. I rarely enjoy myself when we get a standard staff lunch at work; the pickin's are slim for this lil' picky pickle. So when my salad arrived and it was delicious, hefty, and fresh, I was delighted. I've been back more times than I should probably admit to and every single time, the salad is great and the staff are superb. Highly recommend! read more

Disgusted - I have enjoyed Sourdough & Co at the Ygnacio Valley Rd and Oak Grove location many times. This location has been disappointing to say the least. I ordered my sandwich and clam chowder to go. After driving home I noticed my soup was missing. Rather than blowing it off I decided to drive back and get what I paid for even though it was extremely inconvenient. I was expecting some form of compensation, maybe a bag of chips or a cookie, something to make it right. I came to the counter and noticed my cup of soup sitting at their prep top - they forgot to put it in the bag. I let the individual know that I was missing my soup and it looks like the one sitting right there. She handed me the soup and said "sorry bout that." No bag, no cookie, no chips, nothing! As I drove back home I was so angry at the whole experience and said to myself, I will never go back to any of these establishments and figured that was that. Well, guess what - I get home, unwrap my sandwich and something looks off. I'm seeing a lot of lettuce and very little meat. I decide to deconstruct the sandwich and see what is going on. No food since breakfast at 2:30 so it was time for a sandwich. I was torn between Honey Baked Ham and Sourdough & Co since it's new to me and in the former Capriotti's space. The place is clean and has an open feel. Easy to order although not very welcoming. My hope was for a hearty sandwich on a crispy sourdough roll. Not quite there. The bottom of the roll is soft with a bit of crunch on top. For a $12.95 6" sandwich, I expected it to be hearty. It wasn't anything remarkable. It was made and delivered quickly. No upsell for chips, cookies or a drink which is always a standard when selling IMO. I ate half and brought the other half home for the hubby. It was okay. Parking is available in the nearby parking garage or you can be lucky to find street parking as I did. Give it a try. read more

Sourdough & Co. is a hidden gem! Despite the negative reviews I decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad I did! The location is clean and the staff is friendly. There is plenty of parking around the area so that is not a problem. Now let me start by highlighting the quality of the ingredients. The bread is freshly baked and it is absolutely delicious! I've come here several times now and the quality and consistency never disappoint! I can order something and be out of there fast if I'm on a time crunch. Every sandwich we have ordered here has been delicious! I usually get a Turkey sandwich with the standard, jalapeños, pickles and pepperoncini. The sourdough bread it comes with is light, and fresh. First time dining here. Ordered the French dip sandwich (no pickles and mustard), clam chowder and mac and cheese (kids meal). French Dip sandwich is really good! Surprisingly good. Comes with aujus, which is flavorful! I thought it'll be just salty but it wasn't. The crunch from the sourdough, the thinly roast beef dipped in the aujus just compliments each other. First time here. Ordered two sandwiches. Both tasted pretty good. But there was something strange when I checked my receipt while I waited for my food. We ordered their featured item on their menu, French dip. The menu has a picture and list of everything on the sandwich including dipping sauce for $13.99. Why did they charge me extra $1.50 for the dipping sauce? So strange. We ordered their second featured sandwich, brisket sandwich. Again, a picture of the sandwich with list of ingredients that makes up the sandwich for $13.99. Why did they charge $.75 extra for bbq sauce and $.75 for coleslaw if it was part of the sandwich? So strange. We were never informed of these charges in advance. We thought we didn't look carefully at the menu board on the wall. We especially didn't want to be rude. So the entire time we ate, we searched and studied the menu like searching for Waldo. We tried to find the list of additions and fancy sauces with prices. After we finished our food, we think Waldo might be hidden behind the menu board? The fancy sauces were on a secret menu? not listed? You would only find out after you paid? (Aiya so many questions...) Hope this shop can fix the way the menu items appears to customers to prevent any confusion or surprises. I learned my lesson. I thought the sandwiches were a little over priced. For both my boyfriend and I we spent a total of $52 on two sandwiches with a soup, no drink. However, the sandwiches were really tasty and the soup was perfect. Although it was over priced in my opinion for a sandwich that was pretty basic, and the small cup of soup was almost $6.... They do offer combo options which is the sandwich with drink and choice of soup or salad or chips, but even those are still overpriced since they charge extra for everything. If you want a bowl it's extra, avo, extra, etc. I would come back if I'm ever in the mood for a deli sandwich, but I'd make sure I have some room to spend first. Went there today for a soup. THEY HAVE NO SPOONS!!! I checked the bag before I left and noticed there wasn't a spoon. I asked and was told they were out. That's like McDonalds being out of catch-up. Well we went in this morning ordered 2 sandwiches to go, terrible to say the least. My husbands sandwich tasted as if the meat was old he said it had a metallic flavor and he rarely complains so I was surprised. My sub i ordered with all the veggies and and it had barely anything on it even meat it was upsetting because I was looking forward to it all week. I love Sourdough & Co in Walnut Creek. Unfortunately, the Concord store is poorly managed. I ordered online and had a 12:05pm pickup. The order was finally ready 20 minutes late. The bag was taped shut with the receipt taped to the bag. After arriving to my office I found the sandwiches had much less meat than the same items we had ordered from the Walnut Creek location. And the soup we had ordered was missing. We called about the missing items and spoke to the manager who explained that they had run out of the soup. Of course they still charged me and didn't bother mentioning it at pickup. The Manager was unapologetic and said that she was unable to credit me for the missing items unless I drive to the store in request it in person. read more
