Cute comfy Colombian place offering lots of authentic Colombian dishes! The owner has been making Colombian arepas for over 35 years and him and his wife make the best I've ever had! So yummy, soft, tasty and crispy on the outside with yummy salsa. Can't wait to come back and get a full plate of other yummy food!

The cheese enchiladas (3) plate was really good - would get again - and came with refried beans and a yellow rice sauteed differently from typical taquerias. Usually sides on plate items are meh but were unexpectedly delicious here. A picante over the spicy sauce made it so good. Even the carne asada regular taco was good, though both al pastor and chorizo were unavailable that night. The menu is literally the same ones from the pictures three years ago, and prices remained the same. Pretty good value considering most/all? equivalent spots have raised their prices a few times. Only one lady was doing it all on my visit, and she spoke broken English but the menu has lots of photos. The food order came out in good time and service was super friendly. The inside is a restaurant but really equate it to taquerias. Don't expect fast casual or even noodle house atmosphere. The place looks like it's been around a long time and aesthetics is not a high priority. Just come for the food.

I wish I could give this place negative star. This place is not worth your money or time. $13 for three chicken tacos which looks nowhere close to taco. It looks and tastes like somebody just put some boiled chicken in there with some onion and cilantro. There is nothing in this "so called taco".

Stopped over while in Daly City with a friend, picked up the empanadas and arepas something little light for us along with the passion fruit juice made with water. Service was attentive and quick despite the Covid guidelines and needing to wait outside. My first time here and everything was delicious and nice and toasty warm for the weather being chilly. Super good Colombian food. Bandeja Paisa had excellent sausage and chicharon. The Patacon Relleno Mr. Pollo had some of the best meats I've had recently in it. And the aji/picante was absurd. I dipped about everything possible in it because it was so tasty. Beans were cooked in a very tasty sauce which gave them a lot of flavor. My son loved the arepas and papas criollas, as did I. Recommended for Colombian food in the Bay Area. Best I've found so far.

It's so refreshing to have some versatility in the Daly City Area. This restaurant speaks to that diversity because it's Colombian based and offers a variety of Mexican food as well. But predominately Cuban food is sold here which is so nice to have because it's hard to find in this area. Here are some words that will help me get my point across. Deliciousness, freshness, and very filling. These are the verbs that describe this restaurant and it's food in my opinion. Anthony was our server and he was very polite and had no problem explaining the different kinds of food and even its origins in Columbia. He grew up there with his family so it made it feel so much more authentic. More authentic than some of these restaurants that claimed they cater to that specific cultures food. Yet get their recipes off of a social media website. Here you have authentic Colombians cooking these meals and it definitely shows in the flavor and the freshness. We ordered the empanadas. They were light and deep fried to perfection and filled with a potato and beef. The Arepas were also delicious but the great treat for me was the national dish of Columbia called Bandeja. This is a huge platter of multiple items such as: Chicharron, beans over rice that are sautéed in pork fat, Carne Asada steak (which was very salty). With a side of chorizo sausage and topped with and egg that's cooked over easy. I will gladly return to try more dishes off the menu. The inside of the restaurant is painted beautifully to represent parts of Columbia. It's colorful and the restaurant overall is clean. I was very satisfied with my meal and left extremely full, so all in all a great start to a restaurant that I will hopefully visit frequently.

I live in the area and have driven by Mr. Pollo for about 2 years now and finally decided to stop by - I am so glad I did. They have such fantastic food! I tried their carnitas super taco and the carne asada quesdalla and both were fantastic. It was so good that I brought my wife with me later on the same day and we ordered the empanadas and arepas - so GOOD! We also ordered the shrimp arepa and it was fantastic as well. The food, the service, everything was so good, I felt compelled to write this review. We'll definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu! read more

Arepa and whatever the other thing was on the Columbian side of the menu, with platano as the starch. The veggie version was delish, the onions full of flavor. Glad I haven't lost all my Spanish as I don't know if we could have ordered in English from the very sweet woman who was doing it all. I'll bring my own water bottle next time since they only have styrofoam cups. Great reward after hiking up in San Bruno park. read more

This place is dirty and run down. The food is bland. The food is so bland it is forgettable. The thing that soured the whole experience is I asked for waters and the guy brought bottled water without asking. Just upcharged water without consent. Very shifty owner, does not write out totals, just adds it up on the register. I will update post to see if we get food poisoning. read more

Watch out. This guy comes off pretty nice. But he will stab you in the back. No prices on the board. Flies buzzing around. I had to have bandeja paisa. Over charged for the guanabana smoothies. He adds it up on the cash register...he said it's $41 something, I'll give it to you for $40 ok? I tipped 15%. I found the prices on menupix.com. I just left him a message. If he gives me a refund (I believe for $15.70)I will change my review. But I really doubt it. read more

The food is greasy and overpriced. In fact, some of the prices seem to be made up on the spot. I was overcharged by a dollar for both horchata and an arepa. The only consolation is that the arepa was pretty good. But it wasn't good enough to warrant a return visit. read more

We went there on a Sunday in search for some Colombian food. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman. He was amazing. We later found out he was the only one there. I was very impressed because it was a full house. The food is very good. The only bad thing I have to say is I wish the meat was a better cut. There was a little too much fat for me. Been coming to this place since it was originally in the Mission district near 24th st like 10 years ago. It's like the only place these days in the Bay Area I can get some Good Colombian food. If you like Arepas they sell the best I especially like the Arepas de Huevo also I like to get the Arepas Relleas or stuffed Arepas the Empanadas are good as well. Last Time I was here I bought a Bandeja Paisa pretty big meal. The owners know me for a long time and are pretty friendly to me. read more

My husband and I drove 30 minutes to only get there and have the door locked (with a chain) and music blasting. We tried calling multiple times to see if they would be opening anytime soon (we showed up an hour after they were suppose to be open) and no one answer the phone. Very disappointed. read more

I came here to get a super burrito for $7. It was supposed to have cheese, salsa, beans, rice guacamole and meat. The burrito had no guacamole, no salsa and the chicken was stale. I threw away half of it. Save your money and eat at a different burrito joint, there's tons of good ones in the area.. That's what I get for trying something new. I'm giving two stars because the lady who took my order was polite and the spot was welcoming. read more

Excellent empanadas. Particularly impressed with the ají, which had some deep green chile flavors. I'm not really familiar with ají's from Boyaca, this one seemed almost like a blend of a Mexican salsa verde and the ají I'm used to. Will be back for a more thorough look over the menu. read more

I have to update my review and I am sad about doing so!! The staff are all very nice, but I cannot let my yelp community down. We came in and though our order was simple, it took a long time to get our food. The plates and silver ware were not clean. The chicken in my arepas was tough, like it had been cooked then reheated, and the pieces were not butchered well. My boyfriend's meal also had pieces which we could tell were not freshly cooked. While I like the arepas here, I cannot continue to come back. This place needs a good spring cleaning, a dishwasher, and someone who is cooking food fresh upon order. I would have been happy waiting for that! read more

Food is amazing! Arepas and empanadas yummy!!! Best tamal ever but it's a shame that takes at least 35 min to be ready! It's worth it tho so if you are ordering a bandeja paisa or tamal order it by phone first upon arrival so they have it ready for you. Guanábana juice in milk omg best drink ever! Lulo in water gosh! I wanna give this place a 0 actually a negative 0 my wife and I ordered hot dogs and empanadas man was I wrong. We both had a long day and wanted to eat something good. When I saw those hot dog it looked like my 5 year old kid made them and the empanadas were so oily and old wow crazy. THEY OVER CHARGE DONT COME HERE. For 2 hot dogs and 4 empanadas $40 you smoking idk what but that insane. When my wife wanted owner money back the owner the lady called my wife STUPID and that she was stuck up and that they were use to giving free food out like bruh come one. DONT COME HERE SUPER BAD SHUT THIS DOWN. WHAT WOULD YALL DO IF THAT LADY CALLED YOU STUPID??? Your in the restaurant game take the advise and improve. To bad I didn't take a picture o and she treated to call the cops because my wife got made that the owner called her stupid. Garbage. It's Sunday. There's no food in the fridge so I decide to walk across the street and get some food. Granted I used to go here until the change of ownership from Romo's to Aguila De Oro 2. I had been there once after the ownership change but didn't return after i got stale rice. I gave them another chance. afraid at the rice I just got a bacon cheeseburger. Apparently the register wasn't working so the lady used a calculator. I don't know if that broke too or she didn't know how to use it and eventually rounded off my tab to $9 flat of a cheeseburger, fries and an horchata. I gave her a $20 and she gave me $9. I am no math major but I thought 20 - 9 = 11. I recounted my money and eventually was awarded my other $2 back after the lady checked her math and saw that 9 + 9 = 18. A long wait later I got my burger and took it home. When I opened it up the top bun was missing a small piece off the edge. I don't want to know how, I just hope a rat didn't nibble on it. The lettuce was toasted. I'm no chef but I thought you couldn't cook lettuce. The fries were still raw but hey, at least they weren't burnt. The only was I could manage to eat them was with ketchup. It may not sound bad to you but I haven't ate fries with ketchup in 15 years. The horchata was ok. nothing special. 1 star. read more

If you don't know Columbian food, you haven't yet begun the transformation into a true foodie. The subtle balance of spice and flavour had the Absolutely Smart and Sexy Man (ASSM) and I racing for the last morsel of Arroz con Pollo from the plate. The presentation of his food is fabulous, the price is always right and the corkage fee for your best beverage is totally affordable (read free). The ASSM knows how to entice me into a food adventure, we were not disappointed here. Not knowing Columbian food but being oh so wise, the ASSM asked for recommendations. Out came some of the most succulent dishes I have had in the guise of "let's eat Mexican food". The owners enthusiasm for his food is as rich as his dishes, he gave the ASSM samples of different things and his business card for his other restaurant, Mr. Pollo, so that we could call him for his yucca specialty on the weekend. Foody bliss with the most dashing and daring man. Life is good in the summer in The City. read more

Had a really good dinner; I liked not knowing what was being served. All 4 courses were very good, we had a melon salad with fennel, ricotta and basil seeds, the combination was good and the melon was very fresh. Another dish was shrimp with corn and popcorn crema with a pesto with yuzu, the flavor combinations and textures were very good, I will be back next time in town. Good luck to these 2 guys, I hope they do well. read more

I came here today after months of searching for a Colombian restaurant; specifically craving Bandeja Paisa. The place was quaint & the staff was incredibly welcoming & friendly. I ordered Maracuya juice (which was very delicious) & of course Bandeja Paisa. Being from Colombia I can honestly say the seasoning was very authentic & the frijoles tasted like the ones made in Colombia. Also, the Arepas con Queso were to die for! If you're looking for a Mom & Pop place with friendly staff & good food this is the place to go! read more

What a nice neighborhood gem. I went here for some chicken fajitas for lunch and the owner was incredibly friendly. He talked my ear off about how special his food was. He also gave me a free soda. The food was pretty tasty, but the flavors were a bit simple for me. However, the friendly service and big portions will have me coming back a few more times. read more

Mr. Pollo Latin Fusion is a family owned restaurant located in Daly City, just south of San Francisco. Angel started the restaurant as a Mexican taqueria named "Aguila de Oro" until seven years ago when we decided to mix our cultural roots into one restaurant that could provide our clients with the authentic taste of Colombian and Mexican cuisine.

But as it turns out, there was one spot available right next to the front door and no one inside. But then when I requested a nitro, the owner (I assume?) was extremely apologetic that their coffee machine broke. I asked for a few alternate types of coffee, but it turned out said machine controlled it all. So we shifted to the pastries. I read on the website that they had something with guava, so I asked for two of those: one for me, one for the wife. He even offered to heat mine up, which I will say yes to 100% of the time. I then jumped back in the car and was back into "don't' miss your flight mode." Of course, when you're in a hurry, you manage to hit every red light along the way, so I was doing a lot of yelling at electricity and God. But then I figured I might as well take the time to try the pastry that I'd originally planned on eating on the plane. As it turns out, it brought me into a nearly immersive experience of zen. The only bad thing is that I devoured it within seconds and then it was merely a thing of the past. My wife is fortunate that I have the amount of integrity that I do because I am sitting on the plane as I write this and I could easily inhale that 2nd pastry with her being none the wiser. If you're reading this, wife, remember that you hit the spousal lottery.

There is one place which is named after a South American dish where you can enjoy food from Venezuela and it is called Arepas. Walking down memory lane by strolling down 16th street where the young Don Juan grew up in San Francisco I landed at Arepas. Inside there are lots of tables and a full bar along with a wine bar which serves Rosé , Malbec from Argentina , Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile , and Pinot Noir from California ( like Don Juan Pinot Noir). On the menu you will find chicharron ceviche with plantain chips. You will also find Venezuelan empanadas with cheese , beef, and plantain Maduro ( not talking about Maduro the ex-President of Venezuela). They also have hella arepas. The arepas are often compared to tacos and pupusas. I find them a bit different since they are gluten free but they both have lots of similarities. I got the Arepas Santa Barbara with steak and shredded cheese and on a grilled corn pocket. It was a bit cheesy and a bit corny like some in SF. I may give them another try in the future in case it was just an off day, but this first experience didn't live up to my expectations.
