I was outside of the 3 year warranty that they offered by about 6 months, but had no problem paying for the work. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant each time I called, but it took several attempts over several weeks to get a call back from someone who could assist. Each time she said she'd pass my info on and I'd hear back when they (I believe the owner, but I can't say for sure) returned. I finally got ahold of someone and scheduled an appointment for them to come out and repair the tiles. I changed my work schedule around to accommodate their appointment window and they never showed. I called towards the end of the window and then again afterwards. I left voicemails each time to try to find out if they were still coming. Nobody answered and I never received a call back. I strongly suggest giving your money to a business that wants and appreciates it.

Just used Todd's services to replace a pool pump with a new federally required variable speed…read moremotor. They are pricey at $1,267 but a three year old federal law will not let you replace a pool motor that goes bad with a $300 replacement motor. (Like me, I'll bet many pool owners are not aware of this.) I checked around and prices were the same with other pool companies. Those companies did not have valid contractor licenses with the state. For a price over $1,000, Arizona law requires that the work be performed by a licensed contractor. I went on www.azroc.gov which is for the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and through a search there found Always Clean. The installation was great and it took him a little over two hours including the training of how to use the computer system it has. You can spot a true professional by how accurately they can perform a repair or install task. Also, they can troubleshoot any existing problems with ease. Todd made it look easy. There is no way that I could have done it. When your kids or grandkids swim in a pool you want absolute safety. Hiring a licensed contractor is worth it.

Chris fees were more than reasonable and Chris and his staff make you feel like family. Forthcoming, trustworthy, tells it like it is! That was about 6-7 years ago. We contacted Chris again to resurface the pool deck, repair the deck drain, remove the diving board and caulk around the pool. All this work done in a timely manner, very flexible on schedule ie: weather conditions high heat temperatures, monsoons, but we finally are done with our pool. We bought a house in Tempe and CAM Pools was servicing it, so we continued with them. After some…read morebig storms, the pool was a mess. [Added later: CAM's own report had photos showing it was a mess, but these aren't apparently reviewed by the owner.] CAM Pools didn't do much to clean up, and never told us hey, you need to pay more for storm cleanup. They basically left it to us to unclog the vacuum robot and clean up which we did as best we could. The chemistry was also very bad, as we found out later. The pressure on the pool filter was also way too high. [Added later: CAM's technician dutifully sent us a photo showing the pressure at 28 psi, but never told us that was bad.] That's all fixable, but they broke a tile (covering a skimmer basket) and never told us. Not great. But why they get only two stars is when I called the phone number in the "we cleaned your pool" email to cancel our service, the owner was positively mad at me for canceling without giving him a chance to fix the issues. He was angry and blamed me for not calling him earlier. He never apologized for these obvious problems or took responsibility. He wanted to yell at me for daring to complain without having called him first. Hard to believe that his company messed up and his angry reaction was that it was all my fault. [Added later: Note the owner's responses are "I'm sorry you feel that way" not "I'm sorry my company messed up." I hung up because he wanted to continue to argue with me about how I should have given him a chance to fix these problems. I was done with CAM and had every right to cancel without explanation. I never asked him to fix anything. If he really has a recording, I hope he posts it.] Contractors make mistakes. That's part of the territory. But blaming and yelling at the customers is not good. Maybe he had a bad day, so he gets two stars instead of one.

I hired Quality Pool Service to come resuscitate a green pool I inherited. I talked to the owner,…read morewho was super friendly and responsive. He gave me a price and had his assistant call to set things up. Things seemed good. A person did come out on Memorial Day to get the pool draining - so that was good. The assistant emailed me a quote to approve that was a lot more than the owner quoted me. (He quoted me around $800. Side Note - I felt that was high also, but the owner shared what they would do - clean, clean the housing, replace the filters, and get it all balanced. It felt like they would really put a lot of effort and care into this, and, I needed it done so I gave the go.) When I asked the assistant about this, she said, "well, he didn't know what you had." I moved forward as I needed to do something. I asked, in email, if the inside of the filter housing would be cleaned - and she said yes. The gentleman came out. Very nice guy, but, it quickly became obvious that there was a major communication barrier. I asked if he was going to clean the inside of the filter housing. He said "Yes I'm going to change the filters." I tried to ask in different ways with no success. I gave up; and just watched. He only changed the filters. No rinse and certainly no chemicals. I immediately emailed the assistant again (the only way to talk with this company - they never answer the phone) - and she emailed back and said "oh, no, we don't do that." The gentleman started cleaning the pool. No power washing. No scrubbing. Just acid down the side and then trickled the garden hose after. He spent maybe a total of three working hours at my house. Maybe. And he was gone. During all this I was emailing insisting the owner or a supervisor come out, but I got emails back saying "the supervisor is too busy covering his route." Yes, another guy came back two days later after I had to put the hose in the pool to fill it (The three hour guy did not do that - again - communication barrier). I barely saw him on camera (He was here about twenty minutes) and never saw what he did, but he supposedly put chemicals in and "balanced things." A day and a half later my son said "dad, you know there are no tabs in the floater, right?" I would have thought they would do that! It makes me wonder what "the return guy" really did? So, for three hours and twenty minutes of work, yes, the pool was not green. Yes, they came on "Memorial Day" (but the assistant said "we have guys who want to work," She made it clear that this wasn't a "special favor.") and yes, I did get my filters changed. I was charged $1,100. Later, without me asking, they did reduce the bill to $978. Still feels really steep. With reliving all of this, I want to reduce my review to "1 Star," but I did get a clean, no longer green pool." So, 2 it is. My personal recommendation is you steer clear of this company. There are PLENTY of better alternatives.
