The chicken shawarma was very bland! The meat was good and tasty but the garlic sauce was awful! That's not the garlic sauce usually served with shawerma any where I eat it from Dubai to Beirut to NYC The closest real garlic sauce to here is at 7 spices in Mobile it's authentic for sure over there and not lardy and weird tasting like in here!! And wassup with tortilla can't they get pita or saj bread omg the tortilla made it taste like a burrito without rice and beans I m surprised about PNJ write up have they tasted the food there! Stay Away From the Shawarma Wrap I signed up to write this review to warn others about the wrap at Mr. Shawarma. It is simply, not good at all. It looks and tastes like something you'd get a Taco Bell - shaved chicken tossed in a tortilla/flatbread with some sort of garlic sauce and an unidentifiable cheesy goop. In addition, they decided to add pickles to the mix for some strange reason. And it is then inexplicably grilled shut. A terrible flavor combination to say the least. It's greasy, tastes bland, and is wildly unsatisfying. Chicken is the only meat available as well, no lamb or beef. No tzatziki sauce in the wrap either. I've had gyros, kebab and shawarmas all over the globe, normally stuffed with fresh lettuce, onion, tomato, salad and some delicious sauces - served heaping with fresh lamb or various other meats. Mr. Shawarma's Wrap offers none of those things, instead proffering a Taco Bell-Style 'quesarito' which leaves the customer feeling betrayed as well as hungry. Friendly staff and standard/mediocre diner style fries round out the experience. If you're going to roll the dice, try something else on the menu. read more

The sauce on the wrap did not have a good taste. The falafel was dry. The fries were not freshly cooked. Also, the price is too much for the small wrap. You can have some vegetables added on the wrap but then they are hot and I wouldn't recommend it. Also, my tortilla was burnt. read more

The staff is very friendly and they will let you sample items if you're not sure what to order and everyone is very friendly. The shawarma platter was a good value and very tasty. It's basically a chicken roll up cut into sections. The garlic sauce was a little odd for me though (lard like quality?) If I go back, I would ask for no sauce. Oh, and don't ask for tzatziki sauce whatever you do. Big mistake on my part. The cashier acted as if he had never heard of this mystery sauce I spoke of. This is a brand new business. I've been here twice now, and I felt both times that their food was only average. The chicken shawarma--arguably their signature dish--has a nice flavor, but is a bit dry, to be honest. And the hummus, although creamy and perfectly serviceable, definitely doesn't wow me, and inspire me to want to come back for more. So, in sum, it's good enough, but not great, and given the panoply of tastier fast-casual food options here in Pensacola, I doubt I'll be coming back. read more

Nice little spot. The shawarma was tasty and not too overwhelming with spice. The hummus was creamy with good garlicky flavor but not overpowering. The consistency was great. Some hummus in town is too oily and leaves the palate overwhelmed with greasiness. The salad was good, not great as the dressing was a little thin and could use some emulsifying to bind the water and oil. The falafel was delicious. My sone had the falafel wrap and loved it. The soup was a nice touch to the meal. It would be nice to eat off better quality plastic utensils and plastics/paper dishes that could be recycled. Also, a recycling bin for the plastic bottles would be great. Overall, worth eating at again and will definitely return. read more

The food was good! The shawarma sandwich was EXCELLENT! The chicken Syrian was also good however the chicken was a tad dry/over cooked, but that won't deter me from going back! This place was awesome. The wife and I split a super Chicken Shawarma plate with hummus and tabouleh. The wife didn't like the tabouleh, but the idea of it not the actual dish. I thought it was good. I used to love Mr Shawarma. After re-opening there is a new owner and everything has changed. Portion sizes went way down but some prices went up. The way some things are prepared changed as well. That I don't mind so much, but you get way less for the money now. read more

Great, authentic middle eastern food. The falafel is the best I've ever had. I also enjoy the lentil soup. Be warned - if you want a drink to go with your food, they do not have ice. You have to buy a bottled beverage from the fridge. Not a lot of seating inside, but I usually order mine to go. Friendly staff. I had the hot pastrami sandwich, which was delicious and huge, enough to share, with the Bacon and Leek potato salad. Son number 1 had the crispy Mojo sandwich which he enjoyed, and son number 2 had the fish of the day, triple tail, a white fish that he thought was very good. It certainly was an ample portion. Server was very attentive although the restaurant was busy and no request was a problem. This restaurant added new flavor to the restaurants in Pensacola. They serve excellent falafel and very good Shawrma. Their food is very fresh. I love Mediterranean food and really looked forward to trying Mr. Shawarma. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The inside is small but bright and clean. The young lady at the order counter is intelligent and welcoming. Space is limited inside: a sidewall bar with stools and three tables. The only meat served is chicken - no lamb, no beef. The menu is limited. Food is prepared to order but pace is slow (compared to similar restaurants). I ordered the Shawarma salad, finding the dressing to be intensely vinegary and the salad greens tired looking and not crisp. The baklava's outer layer is greasy limp filo. I would like to give this place a second chance in 4-6 months but if the menu has not expanded and salad dressing is still mouth puckering sour, I will forego another return. read more
