I've been going to Kojack's since I was a kid, so admittedly I'm a bit biased here, but in all honesty, Kojack's is just the perfect little no-thrills beachside spot, one that essentially hasn't changed theough the years, aside from the prices and the aging of the photos on the walls. Even the staff seems the same, delivering the same smiles and friendly hellos that they did a few wrinkles and grey hairs ago. The staticness is ironically refreshing. I always order the gyros platter, which is reliably satisying, as they do a great job with the sliced gyro meat as well as tzatziki -- far better than some much pricer places, I might add. People seem be happy with the American choices as well, but it's been a while since I've strayed from my gyros personally. Lastly, the old style fast food booths really take me back to when I was a kid. In short, quality with nostalgia is a lovely combo, and Kojack's delivers both in spades. read more

Compared to its neighboring establishments, Kojacks offers well seasoned, well portioned meals for far cheaper than all the other tourist traps around Mission Beach & Belmont Park. It's a very hole in the wall type of place and once you come inside, you realize it's truly a no frills establishment where you order, you wait for your food and you eat. Don't expect too much of the extra fluff, you go there to eat and that's what you'll get. There's definitely a bit of a language barrier beyond anything other than ordering from the menu. By no means are they rude, they just aren't there to chit chat. The burger and chicken tenders are a solid two- person combo, comparable to the food you'd get at a Padres game with a little more love. It's cooked right in front of you. No sketchy business in the back. 3/5 cause it's not the type of place you crave or look forward to. It's just one of the more affordable options in walking distance from the shore while all of its other fast food neighbors are abhorrently inflating their prices. read more

And indeed, stepping into Kojak's feels like entering the kind of memory you didn't know you had. The walls are neither aggressively modern nor nostalgically kitsch. We've been coming here for 10+ years for great gyros. We ask Mike to put the meat on the grill to get crispy. add their delicious tzatziki sauce and OMG! Perfection! The gyros are our favorite but the chicken tenders, burgers and fries are a solid 10. The owner, Mike has been a Mission Beach staple for over 30 years working tirelessly to make the best food in MB. The best gyro I've tasted, ever. Meat is super tasty, with crispy bits that make it super delicious, the salad is fresh and well seasoned, perfectly paired with the toasted pita and the delicious tzatziki. Not to add that the baklava is also made in-house and is one of the best I've had as well, with caramelized sides and toasted to perfection. Thank you so much for your delicious food. I generally get door dash but I have been in person 1 or 2 times! Great spot in Mission Beach if you are looking for gyro! I always get the gyro plate. Comes with salad, rice, pita and gyro & sauce. My family and I ate here around 5:30pm on 3/23, the cook seemed irritable and on edge. He asked me from the start if he should pack my food to go, it felt like he was trying to kick us out. The pizza was awful and undercooked, I wasn't even cut it all the way. When we received the pizza, the cook threw paper plates at us rudely.. The fries came out deep brown and soggy, hinting that the oil in the fryer has not been changed for a while. I noticed the family next us ordered water with their food and the same cook filled up cups from the handwashing station faucet. I do not recommend eating here. read more

My friend is a regular at this place and finally I decided to try it for myself. We went here around 9:00 p.m. Sunday night, they close at 10:00. We ordered two breakfast Gyros with a side of fries. Apparently, this is on their secret menu, and I highly recommend it! If you love any type of breakfast foods it's similar to breakfast burrito but with gyro. Jam packed with flavor. Made fresh to order. Also, the fries are perfectly salted, crunchy, and soft. It was a great meal. I live right around the corner, so I definitely will be returning customer. read more

Something casual by the beach. We had 2 falafel sandwiches, shared large drink and small fries for 25 bucks what a deal! The sandwiches were freshly made. The fries had a nice greek seasoning on it. They were a bit to golden for me, but still good. Thus place is greek owned the baklava looked wonderful, but it was lunch so did not want to gild the lily. It's right next to the beach, Belmont Park and touristy souvenir stores. Would love to try their gyro sometime if in the area. read more

I've been eating here for over 20 years and not much has changed... which is why I really like eating at Kojack's. The same family has been running this place for decades. I only know them as a customer, but they've always been very nice to who ever comes through the door. Kojack's is a small Mediterranean restaurant across the parking lot from Belmont Park, located in a stretch of bars and restaurants that line a sidewalk/street that brings you up to Mission Beach. The food hits the spot, they've got the classic entrees: Gyro Sandwiches, Falafel, and Dolmas. They almost always have a dish of Baklava out for sale. Now that I'm in my 40's and have little ones, I appreciate the kid's menu with pizza and corn dogs. We also love their fries with the cold ketchup. This place is super small and cramp. There is seating at the bar (Budweiser on tap), some bench seating along the far wall, and a small patio seating on a (usually) crowded/high traffic sidewalk. They have a men's and women's bathroom in the very back. Pro-tip: If it's not a windy day, grab your oder to-go, and sit up on the sea wall. This place is great! Right on the board walk, family owned, the coolest vintage menu signs and the food was incredible and made fresh. We both got the gyros because duh and French fries. The man who took our owner is obviously the owner since the photos on the walls look just like him and this place throughout the years! Kind, fast and easy. Kojacks is a hole in the wall Greek place that also has a random selection of pizzas and salads. Don't expect anything fancy just expect to get you cravings satisfied. My wife and I stopped in on the way back to our hotel for a late night snack. We both got the gyros, the meat was well seasoned and overall was a good quality gyro.
