    Jollibee - Fried Chicken Meal

Tip: Earn Jollibee rewards with every purchase…read more I have a mini goal to visit every Jollibee in the greater Toronto area. I have known about this Jollibee location at Promenade Mall for a while. I finally got around to visiting it on Monday after work, which completed my visiting Jollibee locations in the suburbs of Toronto. I like this Jollibee. It's by mall entrance 2. You have access to this eatery from the mall or through its own entrance when the mall is closed. Most Jollibee restaurants have washrooms with a numeric code that you need to use to unlock it. This one does not have this code, which is nice to not bug staff for the special code. I used the washroom before I left. It was decent. You press a button to lock the door and press the larger button to unlock it. I spent a bit of time at the mall. I worked up an appetite and headed over to Jollibee for a bite to eat. It's across from Firehouse Subs, which I'd like to visit someday. I walked through the mall entrance to get here. The downside to looking at the menu is that there's so much that I want. My usual is often not listed right off the bat. I have to wait for the screen to change to see it. I got a nice man at the counter who greeted me and took my order: - Two-piece burger steak - Adobo rice - Peach mango pie - Pineapple quencher I got my Jollibee rewards QR code scanned. I then paid with a credit card. I tapped, but didn't see that the credit card had prompted me for my PIN. It was incredibly random! I got my pineapple quencher. I love this drink so much. It is sweet. I'm glad that I don't have it regularly, so it ends up being a treat. The pineapple is so good. It's also icy cold. I got a buzzer to let me know when my food would be ready. I found a table and sat there, sipping my drink and people-watching. My order was number 19. The buzzer had 19 on in. It buzzed and lit up like I had won the lottery. It was kind of true. I was fetching my winnings in the form of dinner. I thanked another man at the counter who had my order nicely presented on a tray. I then headed back to my table to eat. I find the two-piece burger steak to be comforting. It's so good with sliced mushrooms and gravy. Adobo rice was new, so I went for it. It was flavourful. I hope it stays on the menu, as it's a fancy step up from the plain steamed rice! I mixed the adobo rice with the mushroom gravy. It was fantastic! I capped my meal off with a peach mango pie. It was excellent. There was plenty of fruit filling. The pie was crispy and hot. Yum! Before I left, I filled my empty cup with Diet Pepsi. I still don't know if I should be doing this fill-up, but I run out of pineapple quencher quickly that I genuinely need another drink. Maybe I need to suggest a larger quencher cup size, but I'd be on a massive sugar high than I already have with the current cup size. I'm glad that I can finally say that I've been here. Staff were helpful and great. The food and drink were yummy. I'll be back soon. (224)

Jolly Good Chicken !!!…read more We were in the Promenade area and decided to have lunch. Since my kids had never eaten at Jollibee's before we decided to give it a try. Jolibee is a fast-food chicken chain from the Philippines and now has locations in Canada. My kids and I have had chicken from most of the North American chain restaurants like Popeye's, Mary Browns, Church's Chicken and KFC as well as local fried Chicken joints like Krispy Cajun, BB.Q Chicken and Mr. Sixx however they have not had the Pilipino style of chicken. When we arrived we had time to peruse the menu, and the person at the counter helped my kids pick out their meal. They were curious about two items they had not had before and we ordered some chicken meals, a la carte chicken as well as the Sweet Spaghetti and Palabok. I have to say the Palabok and Sweet Spaghetti were a hit and my kids loved it. I personally like the chicken at Jollibee's as they have a unique marinade and the chicken is always juicy and tender inside and the coating keeps the chicken crisp on the outside. My kids said they liked the chicken, but it wasn't the greatest as they are biased towards Popeye's. The meals were filling and the kids overall enjoyed them, Since our inaugural visit we have gone back a couple more times, mostly when we are at the Promenade for shopping or the movies. Overall, Jollibee's is always busy at this location and in the Thornhill area, this is our new go-to for fast-food chicken, Sweet Spaghetti and Palabok.

I love Maker Pizza and have endless great things to say about them! Let's get started!…read more First off, I didn't even know that every Thursday they have slices for only $3.75 - what a steal! This includes the pepperoni, cheese, Frank's best, and spicy vodka pepperoni. Service here is super friendly, the spot is clean with staff constantly wiping tables and the floors during the winter time. I got a whole dr. pepperoni slice with extra cheese and it came piping hot, cooked perfectly and so delicious. Also got slices of their spicy vodka which is my favourite and a full 5/5 for me. Frank's best is a great change in flavour with goat cheese, mozz, caramelized onions, rosemary, organic honey and a sesame crust. Don't forget to also get their spicy creamy garlic dip and mix it well! Overall, I love this spot and think their pizzas are so good! Their crusts are delicious as well, especially the sesame crust.

This is the second location for Maker Pizza. One of the partners of the business is Matty Matheson…read more Menu is primarily pizza and also wings. Small selection of dessert items. Pizzas come in 12 (4 slices) and 16 inch (8 slices). There is also a square pizza called a Tavern Cut. Pizza is on the more expensive side. We order a 12 and 16 inch with 1 dipping sauce and the bill was over 70 bucks with tax. We got takeout so no eating in. Pizza was ordered online and picked up. What was ordered: 16 inch Fred's Best - white pizza with béchamel sauce, goat cheese, caramelized onions with a sesame coated crust attached with honey 12 inch Dr.Pepperoni - fresh tomato sauce with generous topping of pepperoni 1 spicy creamy garlic dip The verdict? The crust was decent and pizzas are thin. We did find both pizzas a little too greasy for our preference. The flavour of Fred's Best was a combination of sweet from the honey and caramelized onions and salty from the cheese. Dr. Pepperoni was better with spicy kick from the chunks of tomatoes and pepperoni. Salty is the other descriptor I would use. Would we order again? Maybe. At these prices I would consider this special occasion pizza!

Firstly the Reuben had a very nice flavour profile with the sauce and the sauerkraut But The smoked meat tasted bland and it was too soft. Which was confirmed in the smoked meat poutine I had for takeout. The smoked meat seemed borderline raw and too soft. There was no bark or crust on the edges. Too bad. Service was attentive though. The jarritos drink in a glass bottle was a nice touch But Not enough for a return visit from me though 3 stars is more than enough. Maybe lower 2 point something with a roundup.

But most people come for the deli sandwiches. There's a good selection of meats, sizes, types of bread and condiments. I got the Montreal smoked meat on an onion bun with french fries. It was big enough that I took half of it home. The taste was excellent. The french fries were just the right crunchiness. There are long wooden tables with stools that can accommodate large groups. There are also booths and regular tables. The décor is unique, with lots of old black and white framed photos on the walls and old-fashioned fuel pumps. The service was very good. The strip mall has plenty of parking available.
