Came by for Taco Tuesday. I had never tried this place after all this time living nearby. The tacos are small street tacos and they have chicken, asada, pastor and carnitas and more. $1.00 each taco. I ordered 15 tacos. 10 of asada and 5 al pastor. The smell was amazing!! Couldn't wait to dig in. They have a tiny salsa bar with lemons and 3 types of salsa. 1 hot the rest are not. Green one was my fave. The tacos were really tasty and I think I could easy eat 6 by myself. They have a couple of tables and parking in front. One of my favorite spots for a grilled chicken quesadilla. I get the super. I don't keep the sour cream but all the other additions make a great blend of flavors, "richness", and seasoning. In my opinion there's nothing particularly special about this place but it's not bad. I most recently got the basic tacos for during their taco Tuesday special. Super cheap and honestly quite reflective of the price haha ($1 each for small soft tacos). I generally get the nachos which are honestly quite good and flavorful. The nachos are priced around 11-12 dollars I believe. The sauce is definitely the best part; it's one of my favorite "secret" sauces and pairs incredibly well with all the food. I sometimes get it by the bottle to have at home. Parking is good; it's in the middle of a little shopping plaza but there's not much else around it besides a McDonald's and Walgreens. read more

Famished with nothing to eat around the house. I had a craving for some crispy barbacoa tacos and a carne asada burrito. I did a quick search on my Yelp app and ran across Mr. Taco. I called and placed a to go order for the items I stated above (I got two barbacoa and carne asada tacos). My order was estimated to be ready between fifteen to twenty minutes. Five minutes before the fifteen minute mark, I drove to the restaurant. When I arrived, my order was ready. I paid for my order and took the plastic bag that was given to me. As soon as I got home, to my surprise, I was given a wrong order. It was a variation of carne asada and chicken tacos. I called back the restaurant and notified them that they had given me the wrong order. They requested for me to go back to the restaurant, since my order was in another plastic bag ready to go. Luckily, my drive to the restaurant was a very far one. After arriving for the second time, this time I was given my correct order. I did try to give back the incorrect order, but instead I was told to keep it for the inconvenience. Finally home and I'm ready to get eating. The crispy tacos were delicious. The barbacoa and carne asada were seasoned well. The regular tacos with the flour tortillas were awesome too! The chicken was kind on the dried side, but still good. As for the burrito, it was well and carne asada was present in every bite. The service here didn't disappoint, but made up for the little hiccup. I'd most definitely be back again! read more

Accidentally discovered this place and I must say it's one of the best taco places in the Bay Area. Coming from SoCal, I've never been satisfied by the Al Pastor options in NorCal but this place changed that! The meat is smoky, juicy, and spiced to perfection. I went here for Taco Tuesday. I usually go to another place but when I heard they also have $1 taco Tuesday I wanted to try it. They are doing a good job with social distancing. I was not as impressed with the flavor of the chicken tacos or the "savoriness" of the salsas so I probably will not go there as often as my usual place. read more

This spot use to be an iguanas once upon a time and it looks like they kept the menu pretty much the same. I usually get $1 tacos here on Tuesdays. Precovid they had a nice little salsa bar. They just have all the sauces prepackaged now and you just have to ask. Their orange sauce tastes pretty much the same as iguanas orange sauce. (Different from la Vic's). I haven't tried their other menu items yet but I love how they kept the baby super burrito on their menu since the regular one is way too big! I've tried their monster dip and it's pretty good! I now order 5 por chile verde tacos with a side on complementary chips with green salsa yum!! It touched my heart that I called ahead at like 8:45 thinking they were closing at 9 only to find out they were open until 9:15pm....they had my order ready within minutes when I arrived. Decided to check this place out for their $1 Taco Tuesday to find out that it's now $1.50 each - fair enough. Ordered 6 tacos: al pastor, asada, and carnitas. The tortillas were on the smaller side and they don't fry them in meat grease or oil. The meats were not mind-blowing except the pastor was good. I tried all three of their sauces: red, verde, and orange sauce... they were all okay. My conclusion is that these were decent tacos.. not bad not great. Pass! read more

It took me forever to finally try this place. Ex-coworkers used to tell me about it, more specifically about "taco tuesdays" where dolla tacos can be swooped in on. I looked them up, but after a quick scan, hastily put them off to the side for several reasons that seemed like red flags to me. 1. Their logo just didn't seem like a legit taqueria to me. It is very stereotyping, which would indicate "Americanized af". Look at the logo yourself and tell me I'm off. It's comical actually. 2. They have "orange" sauce here. Just like the much raved about one at La Vic's which I always roll my eyes at. It's pureed chipotles with mayo, and is actually more pink than orange. I'm just more of a traditionalist when it comes to taqueria salsas. Just don't think mayo should really be in the equation. (But truthfully after a recent taste, I can see why people/Americans love it, it's tasty, fatty and clingy ). 3. Their meat choices are quite tame. No tripas, no suadero, no chicharon, not even friggin' lengua. I really do validate taquerias on this kind of stuff. It was like they didn't want me there lol. But after giving them a fair shake lately, mostly Shelter In Place take-out orders, I gotta say they are as decent as people claim. Their burritos are sturdy and well constructed. Tacos are decent but I prefer the tortillas to hit a little more oil/hard heat for a crisping. These are dry heated so it kinda steams. Okay if you eat it within minutes but even after a 5-10 minute wait, the tortillas get mushy and crumbles like crazy. And here's a grading of the meats tried thus far: Barbacoa (2*) Braised pulled beef. Basically Mexican pot roast, but for some reason, the beef is pretty dry for being cooked in liquid. Weird. Not getting again. Carne Asada (3*) Decently browned but could use a little more seasoning. Very finely minced, which a lot of places do actually. Can be chewy in some parts as well, which actually adds to the authenticity. Carnitas (4*) Very good porky flavor but no crisping. This is actually really seasoned, almost too salty. If you taste this before the carne asada, the carne asada will taste totally bland compare to these. Chile Verde (5*) Holy smokes, textbook. Tender hunks of pork with a distinctive green chile flavor. In tacos they drain the sauce more so it is almost dry. In burritos it's more juicy. My go-to here. It appears they have 3 main salsas here. Green is super mild and tangy. Red is medium heat and is super standard, which I wished had a little more punch. "Orange" is the mayo based one I mentioned earlier, is actually the hottest of the bunch. But do I want to slather my tacos with mayo? This old curmudgeon says "ain't gonna do it". read more

This spot was recommended by a friend so thought I'd try it since I was in the area. Worth trying once but not worth going out of my way for and would probably opt to try a different taqueria if I was ever in the area again. Friends specifically recommended a crunchy chorizo taco so we ordered that but given a carnitas taco instead. Carnitas taco wasn't bad but the super quesadilla wasn't worth paying extra. Would've just preferred a regular quesadilla with the green salsa. Pollo asado didn't have much flavor at all so maybe try a different meat but my go to is always chicken. Nothing tasted bad at all but have had better. Best part was the green salsa. Yummmmmmm! Such an amazing flavor would have been cool to get some chips for it like most taquerias give you but was good on the tacos as well. read more

Seriously suffering cabin fever in this crazy Covid19 crisis... I know, I know first world problems... I got a roof over my head, food our health and... FINALLY TP! Had to leave the house today (legally sanctioned doctor appointment) Everything went well so to celebrate we called up Mr Taco for some takeout. Since I didn't have the menu in the car I looked on YELP & Google neither had an actual menu. So I ordered what I could remember... Omg it turned out to be amazing. A giant super burrito for the mister (big as his arm!) and Fajitas de Camarones for me. Both dishes were fantastic! Food is on point~ Very good! With tax and a pretty good tip it was $35 bucks, not bad for the quality and portion size of this delicioso meal. With this stay home lockdown I haven't ventured out of the house much been cooking all of our meals so this was a nice break... And hoping some of the local mom & pop places make it through this crisis. I'm trying to do my part. Masking & gloving up to get my order. If I see another human trying to stay far away and tipping bigger & better than I ever have for takeout. Hope all you fellow Yelpers out there are safe & healthy. Smallish hole in the wall place, but food is always on point. I recently discovered their chorizo breakfast burrito. Oh my, is it good. They dice up the potatoes into the chorizo and egg so there aren't chunks of potato in the burrito. I die and go to burrito heaven with every bite. I come here for one thing and one thing only - the Ginormous Al Pastor burrito! Thing is literally the size of my forearm! You can split it amongst three people, although it seems like me and my daughter finish most of it (she loves this spot)! One of the best Al Pastors in town! I was pretty excited to try Mr. Taco from reviews! I paid a visit on a Tuesday because of their Taco Tuesday deal for $1 small tacos. I was eager to find a good replacement for La Vic's orange sauce as well (La Vic's food just wasn't cutting it for me, and the sauce was really what made them outstanding). Based off of recommendations I ordered 6 tacos - 3 carne asada, 3 al pastor, as well as their small monster dip. The tacos were decent for the $1 deal however the orange sauce at Mr. Taco wasn't something I loved. I think maybe it would pair better with a seafood taco but wasn't a great pairing with the al pastor or carne asada. I wouldn't recommend the monster dip, it wasn't anything special i'd say I actually prefer the typical velveeta rotel at home recipe. I would opt to come back again to try something else like a burrito, but for now the orange sauce, tacos, and monster dip didn't satisfy my taco craving! read more

Not a lot of places can get my shrimp burrito right, and this place is one of the fewest where I actually like it! I try to avoid getting carbs so I always say no rice, extra veggies. Their tacos and other burritos are pretty good! Of course when you get tacos, just like other places you need to eat it right away or the tortillas get soggy. But it's all pretty good. I had a carnitas burrito and was disappointed. They included so much fat from the carnitas, bite after mushy bite, it was hard to want to finish eating but I was hungry. The orange sauce is good but the salsas that come on the side were watery, no solids. Maybe next time I come back I'll just have tacos since other reviewers seem to be happy with those. read more
