So been coming here off and on since this place opened, but have been coming here lately during this COVID shelter in place. These guys are always fast and their food is consistent. I only give 4 stars because their carnitas and carne asada need just a tad more flavor to be perfect. Other than that, food is great. The $1 taco Tuesday is the main reason I come here on Tuesdays. Mr. Taco is serving some fantastic tasting tacos up in here; you know what they say right? Once you eat at Mr. Tacos everything else fails in comparison. This authentic Mexican restaurant prides itself on excellent service and high-quality food. They have delicious specials that happen throughout the week (make sure to look at their whiteboard by the front counter for any specials!). I was also impressed with the amount of food you get when you come here. They do not skimp when it comes to making your food or the portions. So far, I've tried their tacos and burritos and I have to admit that neither of them was a disappointment! Did I mention that I also love their sauces that they have? Omg, make sure you request their orange (spicy) sauce that they keep behind the counter! I enjoy the small tacos, especially on Taco Tuesdays! It was nice to see that places still do that. For the $1 you pay it's so worth it! You could fill up on 6 street-style tacos (which I love) and the tortilla chips that they make fresh! I've only tried the Carne Asada and the Shrimp and both are pretty damn delicious. Ohh wee; I heart this place! The staff is super friendly, and they are quick in making sure that people are in and out. I remember when I first found out about Mr. Taco, I had to go back to my co-workers the next day to discuss how excited and happy my taste buds were from a delicious meal the night before! Wowzers! Good place, been going there for 8 years. Their tacos are ok. And they use flour instead of corn for tacos.

Although the tacos here are fairly standard, they are super cheap and a great deal on Taco Tuesdays! Furthermore, a lot of Taco Tuesday places that I've been to limit the types of tacos that you can get on special (typically chicken or pastor), but you can get most meats on Taco Tuesday special over here! read more

It's a local neighborhood place for me. It's one of the few Mexican restaurants and it's ok. The draw is the Taco Tuesday's where their small tacos are $1.00! You can't find that deal anywhere, but beware. It's super popular so if you come at a peak time like dinner, the wait for your tacos can be a long one. The tacos are small but it's worth the dollar. Pretty good and random find. I was going to Walgreens to pick up some items and stumbled upon this place. Probably would have just drove by but I was actually talking about tacos just before I saw this place. Call it my cravings being answered lol. Pretty standard menu but I am always all about my sauces or in this cause salsas and had to give it a try. I ordered a few tacos carne asada and Al pastor. Really good and flavorful meat. The orange salsa is the bomb definitely elevates anything you put it on and really good with just the chips. I also got the dip which was beans, cheese, beef and orange sauce really good snack to try. I will be back especially for $1.00 tacos and to try other types of meat. read more

Taco Tuesday lunch, $1 special still exists (you just don't know how biz have changed during these times). Ordered over phone, 10-15 mins wait and it was ready for pickup when I got there. Came with salsa and some mildly spicy creamy sauce for the tacos. Ordered 4 and a california burrito, which by the way was giant and enough for some leftover/a kid's snack. Consistency may be the hardest thing to find in life besides a good taqueria. lucky for Fremont residents Mr. taco has got both. When your coming down 880 north from San Jose and traffic is all F'd up as usual and ur sitting there asking urself why you haven't moved out of California yet. As your just inching a long passed Thornton exit a lane is gonna open on right that exits on to decoto rd. Do urself a favor and switch into that lane cuz you Definitely gotta give them a go when your anywhere near or around Decoto rd the burritos so good they might just convince u to stay Every-time I bring friends here everyone has nothing but good reviews. So mine is long overdue for the great food the amazing people at this family owned taqueria have been feeding me for years. They aren't afraid to feed you and they are fairly priced. They have the BEST foods! They've recently expanded their menu items as well. The chorizo served is specially made and not a commercial brand, making it far superior to everything else out there. To start off I came to mr taco as i always do thinking nothing of it, i got my food and was excited to eat my carne asada fries as to the reason i was highly craving it. HOWEVER once i received my food and went home to eat it, as I was about to take the first bite of food this thing that appeared to be a roach/insect leg was there, then once I did further examination i noticed IT WAS BARBED. it was definitely a roach leg then i decided to look into the food to see if there was more which not to my surprise there WAS!!!! I was very disgusted and when i went to receive a refund and show them they tried to say it was just a piece of meat they left on the grill, instead of helping us she was giving attitude and smirked and laughed and said "you guys its nothing" I also peeked over the counter and noticed the floor was very dirty with food and stains as well as the grill which had not been cleaned. She also admitted that they use the same spatula for all their food. I will NOT be eating here ever again and would not recommend anyone come here. moral of the story it was a wrong on their part and food and they tried going against a refund suggesting the food is fine and didn't really want to give a refund for all the food and told us to eat the rest of the food. read more

I'm brand new to the area and of course had to find my new burrito spot. Y'all, let me tell you, this was my first and last stop. Not only is Mr. Taco 3 minutes from my house, they literally make newborn baby-sized burritos. I've been getting the pollo en salsa super burrito, chimi style with no beans, and I can't even order anything else bc I love it so much! Like, I'm literally starving right now just talking about it. They have those hella crunchy, thick tortilla chips, everyone there is super nice, and the price is good too. The cashier was nice. But I wasn't a fan of the vegetarian tacos. The tortillas were blah, they tasted straight out of a package. They were literally overloaded with pico de gallo and sour cream. I could hardly taste any of the beans. I watched as they made it and she pretty much just threw all the ingredients on the taco without any thought or care put into it. All I mainly got were mouthfuls of pico de gallo. I also thought it was a bit odd for the lady making my tacos to touch all the ingredients with her hands and not be wearing any gloves.. Went here for Taco Tuesday and it was great! Every Tuesday they offer $1 tacos with your choice of meat. Got my order pretty quick! Location is in a strip mall that has a good amount of parking. They also offer free chips if you ask haha read more

I usually hit up SJ/Berkeley/Oakland for my favorite Mexican food, but I'm not always up for the drive and opt for local spots like Mr. Taco instead. My go-to item here is the carne asada super nachos and they're pretty good, especially when paired with their in house orange sauce. I love that they give heaping portions and there's a decent variety of salsas (each entree comes with a few salsas; 25c per extra salsa after that). The service is also great and I love that it's a family-owned business. It's not the best I've had in my life, but it is absolutely good especially in comparison to local spots. I'd say it's top 3 locally, up to par with La Vic's and Taqueria Extra. The nachos from Mr. Taco are my favorite out of the three and I will keep returning because they always hit the spot. read more

The OG locals remember this place as Iguanas Taqueria, but I'm super excited that it is now Mr. Taco! After calling 5 other taquerias within a 5 mile radius, Mr. Taco was the only place that offered "Taco Tuesday Specials"-small corn tacos for only $1 each. What's nice about their "TTS" is that you can select whatever meat you want. Other places usually only offer carne asada, chicken or carnitas, but not Mr. Taco! It seems like Mr. Taco is family ran and the customer service here is legit. They totally hooked it up with salsa cups and orange sauce! So the corn tacos are pretty standard size, with a good meat to onion/cilantro ratio. I ordered an extra side of Spanish rice and sprinkled a spoonful over each of my tacos which made the taco perfect! I would have to say that the carne asada was on the salty side, but after squeezing a lime and putting extra salsa, it was good. The carnitas and Barbacoa beef was delicious. I have three words that totally describe the place... Best food ever! If you like Mexican food which I know everybody does... This place is the go to spot for great authentic Mexican food! I'm not kidding this place is amazing they have great food they're friendly and the prices are great as far as I am concerned. Taco meat was flavorful and good, but the tortillas on all tacos crumbled and broke into pieces. That makes it hard to eat since the tortilla was supposed to hold the ingredients of a taco. read more

I've only been here since covid started. A friend and i meet up at Quarry Lake for dinner and we always get Mr. Taco beforehand!! Very unassuming place and name, but completely legit and authentic! My friend loves the mini super burrito with grilled chicken!! Also CAN OTHER TAQUERIAS OFFER MINI SUPER BURRITOS!! It's such a genius idea! You get all your favorite burrito accompaniments but you don't have to ingest 1000+ calories or spend $15 because it's mini. Imagine a kid size burrito but with EVERYTHING!! Taco Salad is also great with al pastor! All safety protocols followed (masks and gloves + plexiglass). No indoor or outdoor seating, to-go only. For me personally, Mr. Taco has gone from being a meme to being my new favorite Mexican food spot in Fremont. I would always eat at Mioki sushi next door and point to Mr Taco and joke about its name, but no more jokes. Real talk, these guys make some bomb af Mexican food and I've been here so many times in the past few months that I've lost track. Any spot that serves up California burritos is basically a winner in my book already, but Mr Taco takes it to another level. Their carne asada is so damn good. It just taste so much more flavorful than any other Mexican joint I've ever been to. They've even got carne asada fries as well, which I think are the best I've had because of their delicious meat. If you don't know it's there, you'll miss it! Definitely a hidden treasure! We started going there a year ago only to find out they've been there for 9 years! When we found it we were going like 3 days a week, so we've had to tone it down a little. Lol! Everything we've had is great. We get the typical super burrito with Carne Asada- never disappoints. My son gets the California burrito that looks delicious. And you can never go wrong with their quesadillas. But whatever you get, don't forget to add a side of the monster dip. It's a must! I went here today with two friends who live by this area. It's a bit further from where I live, and it was my first time here. I kept it simple and decided to order a bean and cheese burrito for lunch, and even though it's a simple order, I thought it was just ok. Some reasons include that the cheese was cold and the cashier asked what kind of meat I wanted - I said chicken but I didn't taste any chicken. However, I didn't want to complain and just ate it anyway. I think it would be better if it was warmed more. The staff seems pretty friendly though and the food came out super quickly, so I added an extra star for that. They have a fridge to grab drinks which is nice too. It's a smallish restaurant. Prices are pretty reasonable for the most part but not sure if I'll be back. read more
