I hired Mr. Telephone Man to repair a shattered screen on my almost new iPad. He accepted the job, stated his warranty and picked up my iPad on Saturday and returned it on Tuesday evening. I started to use my iPad a few hours later when it, essentially, died. I contacted him and while he promised he would pick it up the next evening, he didn't. Summary: Helpful and friendly in person. Successfully fixed my phone. Communication and scheduling could be a little better. Overall, very pleased and would call him again. Details: My Pixel 3 phone port stopped making a good connection to my car. I tried to clean it out, but then it stopped making a connection to any charger unless I jiggled it just so. I figured I must have damaged it when I tried to clean it. So I put in a request to Yelp to find someone to replace the port on my phone for me. Mr. Telephone man responded pretty quickly with an offer. It wasn't the very lowest price, but it was reasonable, and he had some good reviews and was willing to come to my home to do it, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few notes and I indicated I would like him to fix my phone. He was a bit slow to confirm via Yelp messages, but we connected over the phone. He ordered the part and told me that he could probably do the fix on Tuesday. However, I didn't hear from him on Tuesday. On Wednesday we made an appointment, and then we had to reschedule once with conflicts. Fortunately it wasn't super urgent for me, since I could still get it to charge with some care. When he came I let him use a workbench in the garage. He first tested out the phone and charging cables to see that the rest of the phone worked fine, and what the problem was. Then he decided to clean it first. He cleaned it, and it started making a good connection to 3 out of the 4 charging cables we tested. I decided to stick with that, at least until I had my car back to test it there, to avoid opening up the phone and breaking the water-resistant seal.
