I cracked my iPhone X screen Tuesday night, and sent in a quote request at 10:30 pm to Mr. Telephone man. He got back in to me within a minute of the screen repair request with a clear quote of options. We set up an appt for the next day at 4:00 at my office. He got caught in traffic and called me right away saying he was going to be late, and asked if I could stay till 5:00. I couldn't, so we set up an appt for today first thing at my home (mobile repair is so legit). He came on time, fixed the phone within 25 minutes. We had a pleasant conversation as he worked. He let me know that my phone was missing a screw, so that if I ever need to replace the screen again, I would know that the missing screw was not on him. The screw would not affect the function of the phone. He was aware of covid protocols, wearing a mask and contactless service. The phone looks great, with a new screen protector included in the price ($173.58 after tax for premium screen). We used Venmo to complete the transaction. What a great find, this man was recommended to me by a mutual friend, he met D at the chamber meeting. He is so honest, down to earth professional and knowledgeable. This would have been the 2 Nd screen replaced on a child's I pad the first time the local company charged me nearly $200. I told D that it's not the money as much as the shorty work, 3 time I took it back never worked the same. D had my I pad just a few days, due to finding another problem with the LCD. D replaced my screen and battery. Service was fast, but I later had problems. He ghosted and did not respond to multiple calls and texts, so the "lifetime warranty" is not even a 1 week warranty! Lol Another repair shop examined it and found out that he used low quality parts. He does not properly program and place the parts, so they look ok at first glance and fail easily soon after. Gentleman came out all the way to Alameda, but my problem was just cheap cords from Amazon, nothing wrong with my iPhone battery. Something I could have figured out myself. During the COVID era, most business are closed, especially Apple. When one door closes, others open. I needed three batteries replaced for my wife's iPhoneX, my sister-in-law's iphone7, and my own iPhoneX. Me and my wife's batteries were below 80% after over two years of constant use. Mr. Telephone Man came to the house, and was incredibly accommodating. To promote safety he wore a mask the entire time, wipes down the phones with alcohol for disinfecting, and accepts Venmo for contactless payments. The repairs were swift and prompt, pretty much in and out in no time, with a pleasant conversation. My sister in law's phone was a last minute additional service, and he was flexible and accommodating in that regard as well. My sister in law's screen was going out, and he replaced that too. He even applied screen protectors to my wife and sister's devices as they were cracked. Installed a poor quality replacement screen that made all videos choppy, drained a full battery in 3 hours, had low brightness/wrong colors, and developed a crack after one day of light pocket use. It is understandable that defective screens can happen, but owner was rude and confrontational in solving the problem. Ended up walking away with my same broken screen and out nearly $200. Went to get my phone screen replaced for iPhone XR. Got it replaced once I got home. I noticed the left corner of the screen was sticking out more than all the other sides. Next day I have my phone in my pocket driving to work, take my phone out my pocket and same left corner that was sticking out was blacked out in the corner. Took it back to show that the screen isn't leveled on the side that's blacked out and I was told there's nothing they can do.
