I have a Casio Titanium Seaman watch, which is kinda rare and never easy to get fixed. In this instance I needed a new battery, replacement sealing gasket, and some TLC to dry the inside. The young lady at Mr. Time addressed my needs and got me out the door rather quick. While they were working on my watch I had time to get lunch at Subway, and then window shop at the store, and they have a nice variety of Casio G Shock watches, at really fair prices. With the service, and battery replacement, my walkout total was $25. My watch is again in fine working condition. This is a good place for general battery replacement. read more

WARNING!!!!!!! Genuinely bad people. The mother and daughter are especially rude, not trust worthy, will lie to cover their lack of product knowledge and can plainly see its painful for them to even be slightly nice. Brought a watch in to have a few links taken off my band. I few minutes after taking my watch into the back room I noticed they were looking at me funny and whispering among themselves I felt something was wrong and immediately asked them what was wrong while walking behind the counter towards the back room. As I approached the back room I saw they had the back of my brand new watch open!!! When I questioned them why they opened my watch to do a simple band adjustment the mother and daughter became very abrasive and argumentative which now I feel was to distract me. Next thing I know with no explanation, as to why they had opened the back of my watch for a simple band adjustment, they handed me back my watch and then starting telling me to leave the store and that they do not want or need my business. I asked again why my watch was taken apart and was ignored repeatedly being told to leave the store. If you read other reports you will see this is not the only time questionable actions have occurred here. There are many other local places that have consistant excellent rating without a hint of dishonestly. With this, why even take the chance on a bad experience when you do mot have to. I used to think this was a great place to buy watches. I bought my last 2 watches there and have had batteries changed there several times. Today I went in to look at one of the newest, nicest G-Shock models and had a terrible experience. I asked to see if they had what I was looking for in stock and was told by the daughter that they would not carry that type of watch (even though they had a case full of G-Shock watches). I didn't say anything further, but just kept looking at their inventory. Next she said something to the effect of "We can't keep watches in here just to please everyone out there." and turned away from me. REally? She basically acted like she wanted me out of the store ASAP. There was no suggestion of where I might find the watch or an offer to order it for me. Nothing. I was dressed nice, acted pleasant and could not figure out how they stay in business treating customers like that. I will never spend another dime in this place again and regret ever having gone in there. read more

This place was an okay place to get my watch battery changed. When we entered, there was two other customers waiting but very empty and quite. We were not greeted by anyone or our existence acknowledged. After about 10 minutes, I was asked if I needed help. We were about to leave for another shop but since they asked, I asked them for a new watch battery. Everything from there was smooth and price very reasonable. After getting home, I looked at my watch to find out that they didn't seal the battery cover of my watch. My watch requires a machine/press to seal the back so we had to go back to the store to have this done. I think I will look for another place in the future if I need to get a new watch battery. read more

I once had the battery changed on my Seiko watch w/ perpetual calendar by another watch place. They had no idea how to set the date and told me I had to send it back to Seiko to have it done. I didn't trust those tards so I went to Mr Time. Mr TIme is small family run business that specializes in Japanese timepieces. Their store is very clean and is located in that strip mall on the NE corner of Sepulveda and Crenshaw. When I came in with my screwy watch, the guy explained how the perpetual calendar works and told me how easy it is to adjust it myself. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even refused to charge any money for his time. So that experience from about 4 years ago stuck because I came back today with a Seiko automatic. Again, I wasn't sure how to set day of the week. This time the lady explained the difference between the perpetual calendar and the manual calendar on an automatic watch. Plus she only charged $3 to replace the band on the watch. If anybody in the South Bay needs service with their Seiko, Citizen or Casio, you gotta support these guys. They have a big stock of timepieces and provide good expertise in watches they don't even sell (i.e. my Seiko automatic). read more

Service was great but one thing is, they determine the price of the batteries from the brand of watch you're trying to have service. For example a battery that costs $5 doubles or triples if you have a branded watch, like Rolex etc... read more

Recommended! Had a watch band replaced here. Fast, friendly, and not too costly. Yelp had them closing at 5:00 but today (Monday) they were closing at 6:00 per the hours on the door. The proprietor said that they sometimes do close at 5:00, so call to see if they will be in between 5 and 6. read more

I came here to get a few of my watch batteries changed. Very reasonable prices and quick and friendly service. They charged my $8 and $12 for changing the batteries, $12 only because the case was very difficult to open. These prices were a relief after going to another watch store in Carson who tried to charge me $25 per watch. They sell mostly Seiko's and Citizen's. Surprisingly, their price on a particular model was lower than the lowest price I could find on the internet. After I bought the watch, they explained all of the features to me and adjusted the band to fit. Great service. I can see how they have been in business for close to 20 years. read more

When my watch stopped I was already late for work...cripes. So I couldn't go too much longer without getting a new battery. Let me build up to the payoff by saying that I used to have my watches repaired and watch batteries replaced at a Jewelry Store in Redondo Beach. They always told me it would be several hours, or days. Imagine my surprise when I showed up at Mr. Time only to have the nice lady (she must be Mrs. Time) jump right on the situation. Don't go here if you expect basic human courtesy. I took my watch for battery replacement. While they were doing it, I asked if I could use the restroom; I needed to wash my hands. Keep in mind I looked well-groomed and clean. The owner-woman said no--and did so rudely. She said I shouldn't ask her to use their bathroom since I could very well see there was a Subway next door. I didn't point out to her the obvious: I wasn't the Subway's customer, I was hers. Life's too short and there are way too many decent folks running respectable businesses. Reasonable price. Friendly. Battery changes for my Revue Thommen & Longines were $10 each. I saw he was carefully handling my watches over the showcase. He even cleaned them well when he returned them to me. I have been visiting him ever since for battery. I was little nervous about Rolex complete overhaul & repair with this little shop because I had a terrible experience with one big Rolex retailer before - they messed up mine. The man at Mr Time had confidence to do his work on my brother's Rolex sports watch. He said he had done many Rolex and asked me to trust his skill. So my brother tried. After all he done a good job. $350 & 2 weeks at Mr Time (the watch is still working well) vs $500 & 2months (the watch dead within a year) at one big retailer. This was a small place that only said "mr time" on the glass next to the front door. The sign over the top had "seiko casio" with a banner Reading 20%-50% off under that. I was some what excited as I went into the store as it was closer to where I lived AND claimed to have hamilton. Turns out they haven't had Hamilton for at least 3 years but still had the banners and graphics up. The store is run by Sam and his wife. And even though it did not seem to be bustling with customers clamoring over their wares during my visit, mr time had two customers asking for batteries, done while they waited at $15 a pop. Although the owner warned me about potential problems, but she ended up just replaced the batteries after inspection, all in the time I took my lunch break next door! Usually the only watch repair shops I go to are the ones in Del Amo Mall, but I found this place on Yelp and agree with the high ratings. Located right in the Subway plaza on Crenshaw and Sepulveda...a very nice lady and who I believe was her daughter were there when I went and they did a great job sizing my band correctly. She worked very thoroughly to make sure the sizing was just right to my liking never rushing and reassuring me that if I needed it tweaked...I could always just come in again with my receipt and she would correct it free of charge. Speaking of the receipt...I checked-in on Yelp and got $2 off the service making it under $10. Cheaper than the other places, closer to me and friendly, professional service. Yay! I'm definitely a fan and will be coming here in the future for any of my watch repair/sizing needs! ^_^ PROS: Great value, great location, professional & friendly service, family run business. Came here to get a new battery and my watch resized. My wrist is awkwardly between sizes since the links on my watch are so big. The girl at the counter told me that I would have to pay $6 in order to get it resized. When I told her that I wasn't sure if it would be too small by removing a link she was nice enough to say she'd resize it and then only charge me if I decided to keep it the new size. A single, incredibly friendly and efficient young lady manned the store, doubling as receptionist/greeter, sales person and watch repairman with a socially distanced line outside the store. Came in around noon with four watches that needed their batteries replaced and one also needed the band adjusted. The shop owner immediately went to work and was able to finish all I asked for within 12 minutes. I was so impressed! Good place for repairs pricey products but repairs are 10 bucks if you check in on yelp. I bought a Vignt Mille watch bu Mr. Jones Watch from Watches.com and straight out of the box it didn't work (it was quartz, so it had a battery). I wasn't sure if it was broken or needed a new battery so I took it here and they put in a new battery and it works now. Would come back here if I needed another battery. read more

This HAD been my favorite place to buy watches, clocks and batteries for years until ...lately when I had to have my watch battery replaced after less than 3 months. Watch was constantly slowing down and dying. I thought it was time for a new watch. The shop keepers (friendly) don't even know if the watch was bought from the shop but was able to say that the battery was not theirs although I told them I had it replaced at their shop by a different and unfriendly woman. The lady seemed to judge by ethnicity although I'm of their kind. I felt uncomfortable by her attitude and demeanor, and left feeling annoyed. My suspicion: Worn battery was replaced by another half worn battery and I was charged $11 for it! Why can't they keep track of customers' sales that were bought at their shop by tracking custoners' names, addresses or phone numbers? It gets so impersonal that one family member just doesn't know what the other members did. read more

I lost a pin from one of my watches, but decided that I wanted to wear it for a wedding last Saturday. I was running errands in the area, so decided to drop off my watch at Mr Time first. It was completely empty except for one other customer, so they didn't seem very busy. I asked if they could replace the pin, but figured I'd ask about a watch cleaning if it was going to be there anyway. The lady helping me said 30 minutes which was perfect. I left my watch and went to run the errands I had in my area. Almost TWO HOURS later, I returned to Mr Time and it was once again fairly empty with only one other customer. I gave them my pickup slip and both employees searched around for a minute and sheepishly told me that my watch wasn't ready yet since they were extremely busier than usual (it was pretty empty both times I was there). This coupled with the fact that they said my watch would now be ready in 30 minutes (the original estimated completion time), made me assume that they simply forgot about my watch and were going to work on it now. The annoying part is that I'm not from the area, so it would be extremely inconvenient to come back another day. I was also done with all my errands and even had lunch to give them more time before I returned, so I had nothing to do. On top of that, it was like 80 degrees that day and I couldn't even just wait in my car or something like I would normally do in that situation. I finally get a call about an hour later saying my watch is ready. I BARELY made it to the wedding on time and I hate being in a rush. They only get one star back since they waived the $8 fee for the pin replacement and only charged me for the cleaning. read more

A friend referred this place to me and I saw the reviews on yelp, so I decided to bring my watch in to get it fixed on my lunch hour. Horrible customer service. I stood in the store for over 10 minutes for someone to notice I was there...which they never did. Once one of ladies finally gave me eye contact, she just went back to what she was doing and totally ignored me. There were two other customers in store. One she was helping the other was waiting. After about 15 minutes, another lady comes from the back and asks who's next. She looks around and walks back to where she came from and I never saw her again. So after 20 minutes of no acknowledgement of me even standing there, I walked out. What a waste of time. Very disappointing, I will never go back. They could have at least let me know that they would help me when they were finished with the other customers. Rude! read more
