I scheduled an appointment that I had to delay because my wheel lock key was missing. However, the shop allowed me to retrieve one from the dealership and accommodated me within the next 30 minutes to a hour, from my original appointment time. Buyer beware! You will get scammed from this place. I am beyond frustrated with them and my experience. I brought my vehicle here because it was having driving issues. Supposedly they did a full vehicle inspection. So we paid $400 for a O2 sensor that we didn't need and the vehicle broke down my wife was on the way to work. It was less than 5 miles from home when it broke down. I was told that the mechanic took the vehicle out for a drive and said everything was fine replacing the O2. This is a straight up lie! The other frustrating things is that the guy kept wanting to sell us tires. So I would have had two brand new tires on a broke down vehicle. I was willing to look past having my vehicle for 5 days, before someone could look at it. I understand you don't have a enough mechanics onsite, but I can't even trust the one or two you have. I will not be back! If you are wise, you would stay away. But maybe you have money to waste! read more

Great service, kind customer service. I walked in to get a flat tire repaired. Usually make an appointment, but was able to get me in. Was done in reasonable time considering staff had. Was expecting to not have a payment since thought had tire warranty, but found out didn't get warranty when got new tires almost a year before at same location. Was not told an estimate prior to service, which is not the usual. Thankfully I had enough to pay since service was already completed when told amount I owed after the fact. Had a screw in my tire which I had fixed with fix a flat. Not ideal, but I had no choice given the circumstances. Anyway, they insisted the repair could not be done and tried to sell me new tires. I got my dad on the phone with them and they agreed to clean the tire then patch it. The cost was low. Unfortunately, the tire was leaking again not 48 hrs later. I was willing to believe that I really had ruined the tire, however I took the tire elsewhere and it was repaired and has held up since (it has been over a month now). Sadly these guys tried to sell me new tires, then did a hack job when I declined. Because it was able to fixed elsewhere, I don't believe it should have been so complicated! read more

Alignment was WORSE after the visit and the tech told my wife that only the "middle values" (Total Toe, Steer Ahead, Thrust Angle) were the only values that matter and that those were green and she should be happy. Yet the machine printout (which is exceedingly difficult to get them to give to you) showed that ALL 4 tires had yellow or red values AFTER the alignment. The Camber causes rounding wear and ALL 4 tires were yellow or red. The Toe in was amber on one tire. This will cause even but accellerated wear. And yet the TIRE TECH Chris (whom some of you like) says this is all OK and that Caster and Camber don't matter as long as Toe-In and Thrust is OK Combine this with not giving the alignment report, or giving me a photocopy. The printer is color - I'm often handed black and white. Or "the printer is broken" . This for me and my truck, my wife, and recent experience with the produced bad alignment results also makes me suspicious this is intentional to cause tires to wear out faster and sell more alignments. This type of problem started the instant NTB took over that store from Merchants. I had been going to that location (Merchants et al) and looked forward to their quality and friendly service. Now every visit is angst and often requiring a follow up. I'd stop immediately if we didn't have 3 and 5 years left on paid alignment programs. read more

Left two vehicles for service. Forgot to give them the second key and the clerk / Manager, Scott, also forgot to ask for it. The store did not call when they realized they didn't have a key. Instead, they did the other service, called me to come pick up, then when I asked about the second vehicle Scott blamed me for not leaving the key. When I asked if I could still get the work (a simple state inspection) done, Scott, instead of moving to quickly fix his mistake, asked if I had another two hours to wait. Also, during my initial visit, Scott raised his voice to chastise one of his female employees, in front of not only me but other customers as well. Absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for. I would only ever visit this NTB again if it ended up under new management. The other employees seemed nice. read more

Went there because a battery that was under warranty wouldn't keep charge. It's a company vehicle so had employees on the clock waiting for this. Went in and the manager who was very rude wouldn't even look or touch the vehicle for 2 hours for a battery. We had already had alternator replaced so it was clearly just the battery. I ended up going to another shop in Durham that wasn't ntb affiliated. They were able to handle our concerns in a timely manner and were very nice. We will never be back to ntb again!!! read more

I entered this location at 9:38 looking to buy 4 new tires and get a state inspection done. knowing that I was a walking, I asked if they could do it and how long it would take. I was told about 3 hours. Jack Raleigh was friendly, personable, and what I expected. He get's 5 stars in my book. He soon disappeared into the shop to work on cars. 'at the 5 hour mark, I asked Scott C Klugherz, about how much longer it would be. His answer was patronizing and condescending. He went on a rant about how he was working me in as a walk-in and that his appointments came first. I replied then he should have updated me at the 3 hour mark outed to let me know they where behind and let me make the decision to wait further or not. His snarky reply was , "well we'll chaulk this up as a lesson learned." He then retreated to the shop. The other customer waiting was Wow, just wow! I looked Into the shop to see if they had started. He opened the door and he went on to say that I had two different size rims and that they wouldn't turn on the front of the car. I just bought the car used so, I didn't know. But I'm buying 4 new tires so why are you moving rims around. His tone was very accusatory. At this point, I canceled the state inspection. I felt that I couldn't trust the results based on his attitude. I Will be calling corporate on Monday. 'Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. It needs new management. read more

I bought tires at NTB, and brought my vehicle back to balance and rotate the tires and put a gasket on the rear end casing to stop a minor leak. I told them (and I was very clear about this), change only the casing gasket and refill with rear end oil. They tried to over charge for rear end by $100. I had to return to re-balance the tires the next day, then I had to put almost 2 quarts of oil in the rear end after I heard grinding gear noises. They didn't even refill the rear end. It's not that the service takes forever that is the most frustrating, it's that the service takes forever after several employees telling you "it'll just be a little longer." Completely bullsh*t you on the wait times. I arrived at 2:45pm, at 3:45pm they told me it would be about an hour more. It's now 5:30, and they just came in to say "oh your tires should be here soon..." It would have been GREAT to know that you didn't have the tires in the first place... Did everything very professionally and explained what the result of the check-up was as well, giving me a peace of mind! I WISH I could give these people 0 stars, but in order to write a review I have to give 1. These people are FRAUDS and will do anything to your vehicle in order to get you to come back and spend more money. I purchased 4 new tires and an alignment from NTB Tires Durham, immediately when I drove off the lot and drove on the interstate back to Chapel Hill, I was able to feel a vibration in my car around 70 MPH. When I got it checked, it turned out that a control arm (piece of suspension holding tire/wheel in place) had not been properly placed or had been broken during my alignment/getting of new tires. They also refused to do my camber alignment because they did not know what to align it to for a VW Passat (This is insane that they do not know what to do for that!! It's easy to know it's not supposed to be in the red and they explained that it was in the red or "danger zone", but refused to do anything about it, to me when I picked up my vehicle. The place I took it to that identified the problem said they would HAVE HAD to see and notice that the control arm was broken when replacing my tires because they have to take the wheel completely off the vehicle. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS that they refused to acknowledge or tell me about this issue. I NOW HAVE TO PAY $1000 TO GET A NEW CONTROL ARM AND FOR LABOR. DO NOT USE THIS NTB OR ANY OTHER BECAUSE THEY WILL BE FRAUDULENT AND SCAM YOU! I will never be going back to ANY NTB Tire and I will make sure that this post is seen by EVERYONE that finds this NTB Tire in Durham, NC on EVERY platform of review that I can possibly post it to. We were driving from Boca Raton, FL to McLean, VA yesterday, March 13th, when the unthinkable happened -- we had a major tire blowout on 95N near exit 79 in NC. With no spare tire and it being a Sunday, I was frantically trying to find a tire store that carried the tire size I needed who was also open while on the side of a very busy and dangerous road. Most places were not open, and those that were did not carry the tire I needed. They left it just at that, "sorry we don't have it." We were resigned that we might have to stay the night and wait for a tire to be ordered. While incredibly grateful that we were all safe and it could have been much worse scenario, we had been up and on the road since 4:15 am and were anxious to get home. I had dealt with NTB in Florida, so I did a general search on my iPhone and NTB in Durham came up. I called the number and Corey answered. While he did not have the tire I desperately needed, he did not just hang up. Corey searched the inventory of the other nearby NTB stores and found that the Raleigh store had four in stock. Again, he did not just leave it at that. Corey not only gave me the other store's information, but he also called them to confirm that they did indeed have the tires in stock. He also made sure that they knew what our circumstances were and asked that they waited for us to show up to replace the tire so we could make it home. We were towed, by Andrew (who was fantastic) with Warren's, to NTB 1480 US HWY 70 location where Jamie and his team were ready and waiting for us. Jamie personally changed the tire, which kept him there past closing time, and had us back on the road to VA. Corey and Jamie went above and beyond. They truly cared and made sure that we were safe and taken care of. I cannot give Corey and Jamie enough praise and thanks; you guys are the best! read more

I came in this week to resolve why my "check engine" light came on. Corey and his team were unable to solve the problem, but did their due diligence in trying to solve it. More importantly, they performed $650 worth of labor, changing out spark plugs and ignition coils among other things...and because they didn't solve the problem, offered it all for free. First and last time coming here. Was excited when I saw the reviews and seemed to be like a decent garage. I had an appointment to get my oil changed and it took over an hour and a half. Several employees were in the front on there personal cell phones instead of pay attention to customers. I stood at the front desk for over 15 minutes with several employees walking passed me with no assistance. Seems as if they do not have enough experienced employees for the business to function properly. Wish this could have been a garage I returned to. Do not EVER waste your time with this place! I bought my tires years ago and was told "buy 2, get 2 free" (with premium installation). I missed the fine print where premium installation meant you pay an extra $69/tire to install. So buy 2 get 2 free meant four tires still cost over $600.. Aside from getting price gouged, premium installation also means you get free rotation and balance for the life of the tires, but what you're actually paying for is the headache of continually bringing your car back to incompetent morons.. It's not worth "free" rotation and balance because all they do is mess your car up worse than when you brought it in. I've had to bring my car back 4 times for a simple rotation and balance that they bungled 4 times in a row. I've been late work because they said it would take an hour and it took over 2 hours. I've wasted my time and never even had my car worked on bc I made an appointment for 1pm, they said it would take and hour, and by 2pm, my car wasn't even in the garage! They attempted to do work on my car that wasn't necessary and then tried to charge me for it (new AC filter?? when I asked to rotate and balance the tires). I've lost many hours of my day, been late to work (after taking time off and making appointments), I've wasted hours and hours of my life. If I could give less than one star, I would.
