Didn't make a big deal about it. Made an appointment for an oil change. Brought the car, they told me they couldn't accept my car for an oil change cause they are busy. In the meantime you see two techs sitting around in their phone. Why take the appointments if you can't honor it? My times too valuable for this. Go to Valvoline oil change on northern. Awsome service. In and out within 15mins without an appointment!!

I had a Kafka-esque, surreal experience at the Pep Boys in Bayside NY (204-11 Northern Blvd, 11361)…read moreon April 18 2026. My bottom line is that it's OK for people to go there for tires or a battery but not anything else, thank you. Here's the back story: I had been at this Pep Boys twice before with no problem - once for tires and once for spark plugs. I have a 2011 Honda Pilot. On April 18 I made an appointment for two oil leaks, the "VTEC Solenoid" and valve cover gasket. Showed up at 9 a.m. as planned to drop off the car. Talked to the guy up front, explained that I was there for two oil leak repairs. He ordered the parts on the phone. Said it would be a five hour job once they get the parts. Not a cheap job - well over $1,000. He said car would probably be ready mid-afternoon. I said I'm not staying and will come back. Here's where things started to go weird. About a half out later I get an email from Pep Boys stating "Let's Reschedule Your Appointment." I thought 'That's strange' but didn't worry about it. And, went home. Around 1pm I thought it would be a good idea to go back to Pep Boys. When I got there around 1:30 sat down in the waiting room. The same manager who I talked to in the morning is running back and forth from the garage to the front desk. We make eye contact. Around 3 pm I'm thinking what's up with the car. I look in the work area and my car is not there. Maybe it's finished I think. I circle around the building, however, and my car is still parked in the same spot outside where I left it in the morning. Curious, I go inside and speak to the same manager again. I ask what's up with the car? He says they are still waiting for one part. Wow. They never called me on my cell to inform me there was a delay in getting a part. He never said a word when spotting me in the waiting room. It's now almost 3pm and even if they get the part, if it's really a five hour job, there's no way it's going to get done that day. He must realize that too but says nothing. Now the place was very busy doing tires and whatever else. I can understand juggling things can be difficult. Maybe they were so busy they didn't have time to handle the oil leak job. If that's the case, just tell me in the morning or at some point. But not to say anything is really rude and unprofessional. I basically wasted my whole day and left with two oil leaks unrepaired (one near the alternator which was the bigger problem). Did I yet at the manager? No. I felt sorry for him. Just asked for my keys and left. Do not go there unless it is an emergency.

This is the worse experience I endured at a tire shop. Before I give my review I want to say that…read morethis place is great for CONVIENCE purposes if you have a flat. It's great that it's open 24 hours. We had a flat and got to the shop around 9pm. The customer service was horrible. I felt stereotyped and rushed. Just to sum up everything, anytime we asked a question the guy got mad or frustrated with us to the point I had to tell my girl to go back in the car. Fast forward he gave us the wrong Zelle number because the one he gave Zelle said it was overused. When he gave us the new number, I asked was this the right number and he answered with frustration. I asked why are you so mad at us, what did we do wrong. He brushed me off and went to get a tool, a drill and came back and demanded me to pay or he will take the tire off. I said why are you disrespecting us, than my girl reminded me that it's late and to don't entertain him, so I just sent the Zelle. I sent the money and it showed "All done"! I showed him my phone. He got mad get kept refreshing his phone and repeatedly yelling "where is the money" If anyone has used Zelle, you will know the person receiving it will get a text message in a FEW. He was so angry. When he got it he didn't say anything or a sorry. I understand if I was in the car while I was sending the payment, but I was IN THE SHOP handling the Zelle so why he treating me like I was trying to run off. After the payment my girl asked him for air in the tires because he refused to do it before the payment was sent. So she asked again and he answered annoyed. I asked him why are you being so disrespectful to us and he answered "do you want to leave, than leave" Than he walked off. I walked back in the shop and asked him can he do the air and he put his finger on his mouth and sshhhed me. Basically telling me if I be quiet he'll do it. I was so heated but kept my cool because my girl is tired. I told him he has to treat his customers better. He said okay sorry brushing me off. I asked him if he was doing it because we were black and he didn't answer. He completed the air in the tires than walked off. This was so horrible to endure. As we are leaving we see him welcome the Mexican couple behind us with so much grace SMH. On the car ride home my girl brought up maybe he acted that way because people probably ripped him off and didn't pay that's why he rushed us to pay. I said he should never treat people like criminals because of past customers. Grabbing the drill and threatening to take the tires off because of questions is wild disrespectful. Now granted he most likely is overworked but that has nothing to do with me. If they charging us $90 for USED TIRES than we better get that overpriced beautiful customer service, even if we paid $5 he shouldn't treat people like criminals.

They are outsourcing the work and not even remotely worrying about the quality of the finished product. Their solution to a bad finish is "we can take em back and redo them". Nah fam - my time is way too valuable to be messing with you guys and this redo stuff. This review is based on few things: + they are going to tell you they can turn them around in 1 day... it's a scam to make you think they are going to be of high quality. + the first time they turned them around I noticed lots of running paint that was dried up. + they claim that nobody powdercoats the outer barrel of the wheel yet they advertise wheels that are fully powder coated inside and out. They literally gave me back two tone gradient wheels and didn't bat an eyelash -- the audacity + on the redo I gave them ample time to make sure they provided me with a high quality job only to receive a job worst than the first job. + $150.00 to repair rashed/bent wheel + powdercoat seemed pricey.... For the quality of work, I'd pay $50/wheel -- I'm being generous with that number. These wheels make me want to vomit + take a look at the images I posted so you can get a good idea of the amount of blemishes on these newly refinished (x2) wheels. $653.02 after tax for this job. I'd rather pay a fifth grader this money to give me a splatter job with house paint lol. I'm laughing straight to the bank with this one... can anyone say CHARGEBACKKK?!?! THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT OFFER PROFESSIONAL POWDERCOATING SERVICES. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM -- I learned the hard way ‍ THE END.

They said that it was the alarm system which he never had a problem with before he had that car for three months so it took them 12 hours to take out the alarm system and they charged $584.that was on June 26, 2026 yesterday July 7, 2026. His car broke down again and did the same thing so I said go back to the place have them look at the car because it's 10 days later and they'll standby their work, but I was wrong. They towed the car they said now all of a sudden he needs an alternator, which was the problem from the beginning. So they quoted us a price of like one price was almost $900 and another price was about $600 to put in an alternator. I said no to the work.. I just wanted to get the car and get out of there because they didn't warranty the work they did originally .. that car was supposed to be in good running condition. No startup issues. Supposedly they checked the car before we picked it up in June ..now it was a different problem which is baloney. They said oh you gotta pay your bill. They charged $136 to tow the car, I said, but if I knew that I would've called AAA for free, he says well you should've done that ..We're not working for free that was his answer so they actually got the car started and they pulled it back into the shop and held the car hostage until I made that payment which I put on my card. I had no choice so if you look at the odometer reading, my tenant put actually 10 miles on that car from the time he picked it up till yesterday when he broke down again I am disputing this. They are corrupt not nice people I will not ever go back there again. Beware
