Honestly, food quality is still good and consistent, but what they're famous for is their 15 unlimited sides -- and that has a catch now. They don't note it anywhere on their menu or on their signage for the restaurant, but if you order less than approximately $20 per person, they tell you they won't refill your sides. Even this number seems kind of inconsistent and one of the ladies yelled at my party trying to explain to us "you only ordered $80 dollars worth of food," but there were 3 in our party lol So even if you can't eat much and want to share like a combo of soondubu and galbi, they won't honor the "unlimited" sides. I wouldn't mind this if there was signage, but it didn't used to be like this, so the first time they did it I was slightly put off because we go there all the time. I get the place is more popular now, but they should change their advertising at this point. Ambiance wise, I know it's good cuz Korean people go there.. but honestly only one of the servers there seems like she's half-way decent toward non-Koreans. Food was top tier! We ordered the spicy Cheese Galbi Jjim and steamed egg and it was amazing- the best Galbi Jjim I've ever had. You get a million (like 15) side dishes to eat with the your main dishes. These were some of the best flavored side dishes. Worth coming here for side dishes alone lol anyways, they give you water and complimentary barley tea as well. Posting pics for you. If you're not familiar with Galbi Jjim, which I'm starting to be, you pull out the short ribs which still have the bone and use sizes to cut the meat off. It's really easy, the meat is that tender. The service we received was great- they check on us frequently, and refilled our side dishes quickly. I noticed they checked on everyone around us frequently too- so I don't think it was preferential treatment because my husband was Korean. The others didn't look or speak Korean. Hello, had to review Mr. Tofu on Spring Mountain Road again. Been here so many times and always enjoyed the food. Place is quite wide and not claustrophobic like some other Asian places. Wait staff friendly. Ordered their combination of Tofu soup (oyster only) and galbi. This came with 15 side dishes: seaweed, tofu skin, marinated peanuts, potato salad, potato squares, blanched veggies, etc. 16 if you include the fish they serve. The Tofu soup was delicious, especially with the raw egg you allow to cook in the pot. Gal I was also good. All the sides cleansed the palate after each bite. The price for both was around $ 33.00, not too bad for what you get. My reviews are tailored to my taste and some may not agree but I've never been disappointed here. It's definitely a solid place for Korean tofu pot! The side dishes are truly a bomb too! Not just because they give you whole bunch of them, the varieties and quality are great too! Finally checked this place out and it was a good experience. We came a littler after 12noon on a Tuesday and were seated right away. Shortly after we arrived, about 4 other parties also came in, so it wasn't overly crowded. We got the combo items with soup: 1. marinaded beef and kim chi tofu soup 2. deep fried yellow croaker and comboination tofu soup. (menu said "boiled" but the waitress confirmed it would be deep fried) We were given some water and a pot of hot tea. While our main entrees were being prepared, they brought out the bonchan, about 15 items in small dishes, including two small deep fried fish, about the size of a sardine. It was fun to see the spread of bonchan, making the experience exciting. The main entrees came shortly after and then the soups with 2 bowls of rice. The soup was piping hot, so we cracked the eggs right into them right away. It was my first time eating the yellow croaker and I must say, I like mackerels better and that's just personal preference in aregards to fish. The marinaded beef was tender enough and both arrived on hot sizzling plates along with very hot bows if rice. Both were tasty. The tofu soup in a combo is a smaller size but still quite alot for 1 person esp when you have other bonchans to accompany your meals. It had alot of soft tofu and quite thick, which is nice cuz some places give you more broth and not enough "stuff" in it. Tasty but we have had better in terms of quality. But overall, the experience was nice and the waitstaff was courteous. Like many asian reataurants, you have to ignore seeing supplies right by the restrooms. Came in at 9:00 PM sharp. Two elder Korean ladies stared at me and my fiancé with googly eyes. I asked if everything was ok, and also asked if they were closed. They slowly said "we close at 10." I told them I'll do my best to eat fast. Ordered seafood tofu, seafood tofu with + galbi combo + steamed egg. I asked the lady to add mushrooms on the à la carte soup. She said there was an extra charge. I said no problem. And knowing how restaurants want to close out the register I told them to pay handing them my card. Great restaurant, good food and amazing banchans! I really enjoyed the variety of banchans they serve here. My fave is the Chile peanuts and their cucumber was 10/10! My friends introduced us to Mr. Tofu. We were so impressed by the tapas Mr. Tofu provides. In other Korean restaurants, you can expect getting 4 to 8 tapas. Mr. Tofu gives you 15! Every one of them was delicious! We ordered the Tofu pots. They tasted very authentic, and were similar to other Korean restaurants. However, Mr. Tofu gives you a fried fish as part of the set. No other Korean restaurants that I've been to do that. The rice that came with the Tofu pot is so abundent that I can only finish half of it. A few weeks later, we took our out of town guests to Mr. Tofu again. We tried the seafood pancake. It was so delicious and packed with seafood and thick eggs. Coming from the Strip we were starving, and there was no wait when we got there. My bf got the galbi + tofu soup combo, and I got the vegetable tofu soup. Wow I loved Mr. Tofu, I wish we had something like this at home. When we walked in and were greeted in Korean, and then saw there were a bunch of Korean families eating, I knew I had made a good choice. I was initially drawn here by the banchan selection, which did not disappoint. We had 16 different banchan (including a fried fish). The banchan are quite tasty too and well executed, my favorite was probably the eggplant. The seafood pancake was a bit of a miss - it's packed with seafood but unfortunately completely crumbles when you tried to pick up a slice. And somehow it's super crunchy instead of crispy. I was bummed because it had looked so good online. Both the bibimbap and the seafood tofu stew were very solid, the bibimbap had a good variety of vegetables and the wider flatter bowl meant more surface area for crispy rice. The tofu stew comes with a bowl of crispy rice. Also got their yellowtail croaker which my parents seemed to like (I'm not a huge fan). And so refreshingly affordable compared to a meal on the Strip! read more

Brief Summary: - 15 mini plates of banchan is the highlight of the table - Entered hungry, left pretty full When we were looking for a place to eat, we were attracted to this spot because of the photos. In most of them were plates upon plates of banchan dishes. This compelled us to try the restaurant out. We visited when it opened and was seated inside near the windows. My rule of eating at restaurants with lots of banchan, is that we order one dish fewer than the total amount of people, otherwise, you will feel too stuffed to enjoy the banchan dishes. When we ordered in this style, the staff notified us that the banchan amount will be served with the ratio matching the main dish count, and we replied that that was fine. This was a good decision because it filled us up to "more than content" level. I'm not sure if any dish will come with the 15 banchan, but that might be the case. Observing other guests eating here, they also had 15 banchans. For our case, because I ordered the tofu soup, the banchan increased to 2 more: the egg and a fried fish. We're still in speculation, but it was probably the fried fish that was on the salty side. This is me and my moms go to when we want Korean without the ayce option. Sometimes it's nice to not have to cook your own food lol but the best part of this place is they give 15 side dishes which is unlimited. They also have lots of good food combos. I always get the spicy pork + tofu soup ( lots of soup options to choose from ) my mom gets the kalbi+ spicy cold noodles. The cold noodles are good, it can be hit or miss at diff Korean places. We can't handle serious Korean spicy, so we were delighted to find that even the hottest choices on the table were only medium. I love a nice crunchy cucumber kimchi with reasonable red pepper, and this was one I could actually eat. The sweet/spicy peanuts and the fish cakes were other highlights. Honestly, the food we ordered was almost beside the point. Give me a bowl of rice and a banchan buffet like that, and I'm good to go. But the oyster soondobu and kalbi were tasty, too, with plenty of oysters in the stew. I have not had such a crispy seafood pancake before, but turns out I'm a fan of well-done pancake. If I could give zero stars for this place, I would!!! First time eating here based on recommendations. As soon as we walked in, a lady seated us with no greeting. No big deal--I was still excited to see what the hype was about. We ordered our meal and waited, and when the first lady brought out the banchan, I only wanted to record the banchans being placed on the table, not her face. She stopped placing the food on the table and said 'Do not record, only when I'm done!' I stopped and apologized. We said thank you anyway, and she just walked off. Then a second lady brought out our food, said nothing, set it down, and left. We continued to say thank you, even though not a single person responded. No one came to check on us once or see if we needed anything. We had to flag someone down every time we needed something. At that point, we knew the service didn't deserve a tip. The food itself was excellent, and we paid a hefty amount--gratuity already included. After we paid with a card, a lady came over and asked, "You will pay tip with cash?!" I didn't reply, because I truly felt this place hadn't earned even a penny more. As we were leaving, she followed me to the door and rudely said, "You're not going to leave a tip? Everyone leaves tip!!" In all my years of dining, I always tip what is fair, and I have never been demanded to tip--until now. Coming from a Korean family in southern California, I didn't have high expectations for this place since I haven't yet found solid good Korean food in Las Vegas. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were a lot of Korean customers dining in. The waitress spoke Korean and some English. First, they brought out our utensils, water, tea and banchan (Korean side dishes). This place advertises their 15(!!) banchan as a unique selling point, and I was surprised to find that most of them were actually quite good quality and tasty. Technically they will refill any of them for free, but service was not the most attentive so it can be hard to flag someone down. We all also got a small fried whole fish as an appetizer included in our meal. Our food came out quickly as well. I got a spicy beef tofu stew combo with LA galbi. I got the spiciest level (scale: plain, mild, medium, spicy) which was doable, but I probably would go with medium in hindsight. The tofu came with a hot stone pot of rice and a raw egg. I liked the portion size, but unfortunately the taste was very average in my opinion and pretty expensive at $18.50. The small bits of beef were tough and dry, so I'd recommend getting a different tofu stew instead of the beef one. They forgot about the LA galbi and brought it out about halfway through the meal. The size was small -- maybe about 6 or 7 pieces of galbi. You pay at the front at the end of your meal. Apparently, there is a card surcharge of $1.81 if you don't pay in cash. Overall, best tasting dishes were the banchan lol but as far as the actual entrees, flavors were fairly lackluster. Service was a little unwelcoming. In the beginning of service, we start with bulgogi combination with tofu stew and a whole chicken soup and the server started us with -- if you only order two entree then no refill on banchan!
