We called ahead of time to see if they could seat 7 on a short notice, and they agreed, provided we put in any barbeque orders ahead of time. There was barley tea and ice water in the classic pitchers, and all of the food was really good! The seafood pancake was more eggy than others I had eaten, but it was very well cooked regardless and tasted better than many I'd had. The barbeque options (bulgogi and galbi) were amazing as well, and the soups tasted very rich and were cooked perfectly. The nice lady who waited on us said she reminded us of her children and was very sweet to us throughout the entire meal. She let us sample some Korean instant coffee that was really good, too. I ordered the kalbi and seafood pancake. Both were delicious and it's enough to feed 2 - 3 people. Service improved substantially after I asked for my banchan. Ordered a kakbi to go for my buddy and the left over seafood pancake. He enjoyed the food. A great "Ma and Pa" Korean Restaurant hidden on Sahara and Las Vegas Blvd! Food is amazing and it feels like a home cooked meal you would get from grandma's and grandpa's house! I love the ambiance of "hole in the wall" restaurants, so for me this was very cozy. Our service was exceptional, very friendly and very attentive! Couldn't ask for anything better. 9.5/10 for sure! Only downside for me is how far it is. A little way's drive from where I live in Henderson, but that is just a personal thing! However, it is worth the drive! Had my fair share of many different Korean restaurants and The Garden is on my favorite list. The flavors were on a whole different level of what I'm typically use to. The locals may find this as the norm, but have not tasted anything close back home. A different style I must say, but not far from the authentic baseline. The Pan Fried Pork w/ Mixed Vegetables and Soft Tofu & Shrimp Clam in Hot Pot were so good! I'd buy both again if I ever have the chance. The banchan is also on point. It may not be located in a pleasant looking shopping center, but it does not reflect what they offer. There was one waitress with a several customers. One of oldest Korean restaurant in Las Vegas, i haven't been here for ages. Since it was located in old old Korea town. But this place was the only restaurant that had "goat soup" which I was graving it. I have been to so many different cities and countries and tried "goat soup " I finally found my favorite "goat soup" place outside of Korea. It had so much meat in it. Skin to meat just right amount. Also whole balance of seasoning to vegetables and meat. All on the spot!!! I will be back for more for sure. read more

We came here on a Thursday evening around 7pm - the restaurant wasn't busy, only 2-3 other tables. We were immediately seated and served iced barley tea (delicious!). The menu is simple with both Korean and English. Prices seemed a little high, but the portions are generous and I always factor in the cost of banchan (the complimentary sides / appetizers). We ordered the pork cutlet and mixed stone pot rice with vegetables. Banchan (5/5) - they give you 8(!!) different banchan, including marinated potatoes, kimchi, cucumbers, bean sprouts, squash, picked daikon radish, mixed seaweed, and pancake. Everything was light, fresh, and tasty. Cucumbers and mixed seaweed were our favorite! Pork Cutlet (5/5) - honestly we were expecting more traditional korean bbq pork (my mistake), but were super happy with what we got! The pork cutlets were thinly breaded and really crispy, and the pork was moist and flavorful. It comes with a simple cabbage salad dressed with a creamy mayo-dressing (which is delicious with the pork!) Stone Pot Rice with Vegetables (5/5) - Tons of vegetables and mushrooms and a fried egg on top of a bed of rice that's fluffy on top and super crispy at the bottom of the stone pot. Went here on a weekend night and was in the area craving for some authentic Korean food other than AYCE KBBQ. It's in a huge dark plaza that sorta looks run down and you probably wouldn't expect to find restaurants here, but there's a couple. My brother had ate her many years ago and remembered how great this place was. He was surprised it was still there after so many years and how the food was still the same as before. There wasn't many people eating inside at the time. We ordered a Bibimbap, a potato and pork bone soup, and a calamari/squid dish. The one thing I love best about eating at Korean restaurants is the banchan! The banchan here had the scallion pancakes that are bomb! We honestly asked like 3-4 times to get them refilled. I also love the marinated potatoes here and the spicy veggies. The first 2 dishes we got were the squid and Bibimbap. The squid was grilled and in a spicy sauce. I didnt particularly liked it as much as the other dishes. The Bibimbap, on the other hand, was yummy! I even liked the crispy fried rice at the bottom of the bowl! The main dish came and it was our huge soup! It had potatoes and pork bones. We asked if we could have it medium spicy and it perfect. At first we thought the black topping was black pepper and tried to scoop it off, but we realized later on that it was black sesame. The broth was flavorful and wasn't salty or bland. There was so much pork bones and the meat was so tender it falls off the bone. This soup is a must to get and im so disappointed I forgot the name of it. The only reason I took a star off was how long it took for the food to come out. I wish the banchan came out faster so we could at least snack on it while we waited for the main dishes. Vegas has no shortages when it comes to Korean BBQ but if I'm craving just traditional Korean cuisine, I have to filter through all the BBQ restaurants. Then I came upon this gem of a hole in the wall. Now first off, Google has this restaurant located on the wrong side of the building. So if Google leads you in between Sohyang Korean BBQ and Le Vecindad, go to the opposite side of the building. It's next to the Nigerian Food Las Vegas. The interior of the restaurant gives me the Ma and Pa shop type of vibe. Which I like, gives me a comfy and cozy feeling as I anticipate my food to taste like something my mother and grandmother would make. The menu has a decent variety of Traditional Korean dishes, which made it difficult for me to choose which one I wanted. But I ultimately chose the Sundae Guk. Sundae is a Korean blood sausage, which tastes absolutely nothing like other sausages most people have eaten. It actually requires an acquired taste, which I have since I grew up eating this. So if it is your first time eating something like Sundae, I probably would not recommend it to you. But if you're feeling adventurous, be my guest. Sundae guk came with 6 varieties of banchan (or panchan) and I chose to have cold korean tea as my beverage. It was spicy, it was tasty and it tasted pretty close to how my grandmother would cook it. Don't mind the last part, I'm biased in believing my mother and grandmother cooks the best. It's a hole in the wall, the decor has a lot to be desired and it's located in what appears to be an abandoned strip mall but the service was nice and the lady who served us may be the owner. There were plenty on Bon Chon dishes for us to eat and I love the variety they gave us and toward the end of our meal she gave us some freshly cooked onion pancakes that were really good! The soups are what I like here with the dumplings and my husband had the beef rib soup that was scrumptious too. I was so happy to see this place survived the COVID-19 shutdown. My coworker and I frequent this place not only for the food but for the customer service. They always greet us with a smile and make sure we have all the banchan we can eat. They have the comfort foods that make your heart and tummy warm. She always gets the Dolsot Bibimbap and I always get the Yukgaejang (spicy beef noodle soup). Food always comes out piping hot and it's all we can do not to burn our mouths because we are eating so fast. The restaurant is located in Old Vegas and some of the shops look rundown but don't let this scare you! If you make the trip here to have some good Korean food, you'll not be disappointed. read more

10/10 Honestly I live in KTOWN LA and my friends and I were craving Korean food. We literally Just found the closet restaurant and Garden Korean DID NOT disappoint!!! I know there are a lot of amazing restaurants and hotspots in LA but this place tops it all. It's not just the food, everything about this place is amazing. The servers are so genuine and kind, the restaurant feels so cozy and the food is soooo good. They give you a variety of banchan(side dishes) as an appetizer and if you want more, they'll provide it for you right away. It was so good we went back the next day! All my friends are college students and you know that feeling when you miss your mom's cooking? The service and and the food really gave us a comfortable loving cozy feeling. I don't know the name of the previous server who was so loving and kind, but the server that helped us today is Hera. All the servers are just so kind. This is my go to spot for Soondae soup. (Korean Blood Sausage Soup) It is much better than the Moobongri Soondae and the Dolsot Bibimbap is my girlfriend's favorite at this place. The Soondae soup is really good, their portions are fantastic, and their selection of banchan changes throughout the season. The amount of meat that you get in the Soondae soup is great and pair that with a bowl of rice, it is filling and the soup is also hearty. Their Soondae is more like 8th street Soondae in Los Angeles compared to the nonsense at Moobongri and has more blood compared to Moobongri's. Banchan there are fresh and well balanced. My favorite when I went there was the spinach and my girlfriend's favorite is the vegetable jeon. The Kimchee wasn't overly smelling of fish sauce and the flavor of the Kimchee was ripe but not overly sour. Service is Asian style service. Don't be afraid to call out to them. It isn't rude. It's a shame for many of the reviewers calling out authentic Asian places for their service if they aren't cultured to understand that this is the common style of service for certain cultures. Use the bell next to the tables or wave your hand if you need prompt service. Hope this place stays in Vegas for a long time because this is the only place to get decent Korean food that isn't Korean BBQ. read more

Ma Dang had been bookmarked forever, but I finally got to try it last night. I was joined by Jun A., a Korean student that I know from work, and Eric R. The first part was finding it - I knew about it because I had seen "Ma Dang" on the restaurant in the past when dining at Komol. However, it now says its name in Korean and then its translation "Garden" so I was not sure if that was the right place. Luckily, Jun A. was already there when we walked in. They key is to come here with a Korean speaker. The menu has all of its items in English but everything sounded so good I would not know where to start as a first-timer. Jun A. ordered LA style beef short rib and spicy chicken stew for the table. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Jun A. called out to her in Korean whenever we needed something, so we had great service. We were the only ones in the restaurant initially but soon it had 3 other large groups of Korean eaters. A rolling cart with banchan brought out 8 initial dishes: cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cake with jalepeno, potato with jalepeno, scallion pancake, plain bean sprouts, spicy sesame bean sprout, and broccoli with sweet chile paste. Everything was delicious, with unlimited refills. We also got a 9th banchan dish, very similar to dashimaki tamago in Japanese cuisine (layered egg crepe). I really liked everything but was especially fond of the scallion pancake. Our beef ribs came out first on a sizzling plate with onions. They were deliciously flavored and hot. We each got a bowl of rice which was refilled on request (I am not sure if there was an additional charge for refills on rice though - don't think so). Then, a table burner with the chicken stew arrived. Once the stew boiled we were able to eat it. Tender dark meat chicken, potatoes, and green onions in a spicy broth surrounded us with great scents. We ladled the stew into bowls and ate it with rice. The flavor was great, but the chicken needed work with hands and mouths to free it from bones. It was hot so a few fingertips were burned, but it was worth the effort! I would definitely return. There are some interesting menu items to try including monkfish, sable/black cod, and mackerel dishes that may be calling my name soon. read more

First off, the banchan is amazing. I love the scallion "pancakes" and the summer kimchi. The fish cake was freshly made and was right on point. I was so touched when I went last night, and they were out of the scallion pancake. I sighed and gave a little frown, and she had the cooks in the back make me some fresh-I must have looked pretty sad! She said that is one of their most requested banchan so they do run out towards later evening. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap last time, which was fine, but this time opted for the cold noodle soup--it's obvious the broth and noodles are homemade and it is the best mul naengmyeon in town. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find a Korean restaurant nearby the hotel I was staying. I was looking for this restaurant to be located on Sahara but I couldnt find it anywhere. I later found out this restaurant is located behind in this very big plaza that seems to be dead. The parking lot was very big with all kinds of shops all around it but hardly anyone was in this plaza. Not to mention most of the shops were unleased ans were empty. The outside of the restaurant looks very funny because its so ugly with the royal blue color painting and the decor of it is such a no no. But I was fully relying on the reviews for their food. The lady who was our server for the day was very nice. She was so helpful and attentive with a very friendly voice. We ordered Soon Dubu Soup (SDS) and Spicy Cold Noodle (SCN) which they just started selijng this sunday. It's a seasonal dish so you can only eat them during summer I believe. My SDS was average. It kind of tasted a little watered down. Also there wasnt enough Dubu or Tofu in the soup. There was an egg already in the soup also. However, the soup tasted a little too spicy for me but it wasnt bad. I guess it was Seafood flavor because they had put 3 pieces of manila clams. Um, whatever. SCN we had was also average. It had some broth in there like a regular Cold Noodle with Broth. It wasnt as spicy as we expected probably because of the broth. It wasnt the best however, we had very little expectation, it was better than that so it was good. Side dishes were pretty good. 8 different variety including bean sprouts, spicy fishcake, kimchi and etc.I might come back to try their other food but I find that it was a little too expensive to eat other foods on te menu.
