Horrible experience. I dealt with Larry and he was arrogant, unhelpful, and rude. I heard he was worse with women from the local fabric shop and they were absolutely correct. He wanted a commitment to purchase before he would give me his "intellectual knowledge." I had to laugh because he is clearly not too intelligent. I heard he has his family members go on Yelp daily and post positive reviews to counter act the negativity. Avoid this store at all costs. there is another store down the road at 32nd and Thunderbird called sew and vac that will meet al your needs with a smile. read more

I've never been treated so rudely in my life. I was in the market for a new sewing machine for my wife around Christmas time and thought this would be the place to purchase one. As soon as I walked in the place, the owner told me "I don't have time for you unless your going to spend money on a new machine." I was willing to spend top dollar on a new beginner machine, which I did down the street with another more customer service oriented business. He was the most rude, obnoxious and disrespectful human being I've ever met. Stay away from this place and spend your money with a business who will treat you like a customer. read more

Fair and square. I went there to have my old vacumn fixed. I paid a deposit to have the problem diagnosed and then that deposit would go toward the price to fix it or a new vac if I bought from them. They also agreed to match any competitor price on a new vac. I decided not to fix and buy new. I researched what I wanted online. Then went into the shop with my print out of what I wanted that was being sold on amazon. I did have to listen to the owners up sell for a few minutes, but in the end I said I wanted to go with the model I picked out on line. It was no problem, they were nice, sold it to me, matched the price as they said they would, applied my deposit and I had it within a week. I would go back. Nice hometown business. read more

My vacuum cleaner started to smell hot like an electrical melt down and not work right. I checked online and found this place. Called and they said they could look at it but there would be a charge that would go towards any repairs. No problem. Took it in and dropped it off. Given a ticket and told to call a few days later with the results. Called a few days later and the motor and the belt needed to be replaced. Cost seemed fairly reasonable and less than it would be to buy a new comparable one so had them repair it. A few days later it was done and works like new. The shop had a number of different vacuums and I prefer to support a local business when I can, so when the time does come to replace mine I will buy from them. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Steer clear of Mr Vac & Sew if you're looking to trade in an old vacuum for one of theirs. His inofrmation about trade ins is very misleading. I brought in a one year old vacuum to trade in on another and was told up front (I'll give the owner this much) that the trade values could range from $0 to $100. I found four vacuums that I was interested in and the owner told me that a trade in was not available...for any of them. Come on....FOUR DIFFERENT VACUUMS - FOUR DIFFERENT MODELS and no trade in allowance? When I asked why, the owner (a condescending, pompous, jerk) went off on a tangent about how low his prices were and that I'd never find a lower price vacuum. Um, that wasn't the question...my question was why won't you take my almost new trade in? Still no answer and continued to ATTEMPT to brow beat me as I'm walking out of his store with my vacuum ready to take it to another store that WILL HONOR trade ins. Oh, and by the way...your prices aren't that great. I found cheaper prices on the Shark's at Target. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! I have never witnessed such horrible and verbally abusive customer interaction. I was witness to the owner of this store verbally accost a nice woman who simply, kindly stated that the sewing machine he repaired was not the one she dropped off. She mentioned their were features in this sewing machine that did not exist on the one she dropped off. Within seconds, he was foaming at the mouth with rude comments saying she was crazy and welcome to search the store. SHE, stating that the likelihood that the ticket she gave him to reclaim her sewing machine could not be wrong. No such thing as human error in his world!! The confrontation escalated when he followed her in the back room so she could look for her sewing machine. He then came back out to help me pick up my vacuum, making a sarcastic comment that hopefully I am claiming what is actually on my ticket. He then stops to argue with the lady again berating her for not agreeing that this is her sewing machine. It only got worse when this poor lady went back over to look at the sewing machine again, put her hands on the machine and he maliciously grabbed the machine out of her hands accusing her of trying to steal the machine without paying for the repair!!! I could not believe my eyes and ears. I proceeded to leave the store in disgust. I am not sure what the final outcome of that situation,but I will never return to that store for any reason. I have witnessed his abusive, know it all behavior on a few other occasions but this takes the cake. Take my advise and Back away from the Store, this owner is a joke, and any person who has had a positive experience must be a relative or a paid consultant. read more

I took an older Shark vacuum in for repair. The vacuum itself is not in great condition and has clearly been used very hard. I called once and went in once, as the repairs were taking a long time and I needed the vacuum. Each time, I gave him the number on the repair tag, as requested. When the vacuum was finally finished, I went in, with cash in my hand, to pick it up. He asked for the other half of the repair tag, which I no longer had. When I told him I didn't have it, he told me I needed my AZ DL. I wasn't certain if I had it with me as I only lived a few blocks away and had just gotten into my vehicle to go and pick up my long overdue vacuum. He would not give me the vacuum even though he had spoken to me about this very machine on several other occasions, one of them in person. I did not say a word as I walked out. His parting shot to me was "You should have thought about that, ma'am," as I was leaving his shop. I am the only human being, literally, on the planet that knew the number on the tag of that dirty old vacuum and he wouldn't give me my own vacuum even though he knew, for certain, that it was mine. My DL license was in my vehicle. I decided however that that old vacuum cleaner must have meant a lot to him so he could keep it. I purchased another vacuum from someone else even though I really did not have the money. Please choose another shop to repair or purchase vacuum cleaners and sewing machine. This gentleman does not deserve the patronage of the honest hardworking citizens. He doesn't appreciate his own customers. read more

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. I've NEVER met anyone as disrespectful, greedy, I'll-mannered, and lazy than this "man" named Larry. The belt on my vacuum broke so I needed him to order a new one, and I wanted to pay him to put it on for me because I didn't know how. He said, I needed to pay him $29.99 for him to run a diagnostic test to find out what's wrong with it. Then from there we would proceed. I explained to him the belt broke, and it just needs to be replaced. He told me I knew nothing and he wouldn't even touch my vacuum unless I payed him $29.99. I asked him how much the belt would cost? He told me he doesn't research anything for free, and I can pay him a $10 deposit to look that price up. Or I can look up the cost of the belt myself. So I went home ordered the belt myself for $4.95 , then watched a YouTube video to learn how to put on the belt. And did it myself for FREE. One star is too much for this store! I took my 80 year old mother in to buy a new vacuum. When we asked for assistance, the gentleman told us he would be with us after helping a couple other ladies with sewing machines. The wait became excessive, so I pulled a couple of vacuums out for my mother to try so she could see if they were light enough for her to push. They were not turned on, or even plugged in. Just as she began to push one, the man, who claimed to be the owner, came out irately yelling at us, that we were damaging his vacuums and to get out of his store, and to go buy a vacuum at WalMart. I told him that in no way had we damaged his vacuums and tried to reason with the man but he continued his rant in front of the other customers. He really needs to be medicated before he harms someone. I can't believe he is still in business after treating people so disrespectfully! Why would Anyone ever go back there?! read more

The owner of this store is very rude and very unprofessional. He was very impatient when dealing with me and with his own employees. I had brought my vacuum to him for repairs anf within a couple of months the part broke. I was told that parts were under warranty but then when I brought my vacuum back in he stated this one wouldn't be. He was very rude and pretty much accused me of breaking it and that it could not have been the part itself. I have had this vacuum for 9 years and used it in the same fashion and never had an issue with it. He pretty much grabbed by vacuum handed to me and said find somewhere else if you don't like what I have to say. I took it to another repair shop that sadly said that they have to apoligize for this man at least once a week. Not good for Mr. Vac & Sew but I am releived that it was not just me feeling this way. There was no reason for him to get hastile and not want to listen to what I had to say but I couldn't even talk. I am not one to write complaints in fact this is my first one but that is how bad I was treated in just a few minutes. I felt discarded like a peice of garage. I traveled back to my old repair guy 30 minutes out of my way do to this and will never go back. read more

This store tried everything for me not to buy a vacuum cleaner and I didn't. Making a long story short, the owner told me not to waste his time and I can come back when I know what I want but until than he doesn't have time for me. EXCUSE ME??? I wasn't even there for five minutes and asked some simple questions which you normally would do when you want to buy something and hopefully getting answers from a, hopefully, expert. But instead he kept going on that he was a "boutique" store for vacuum cleaners and apparently I don't know what I want and when I have that figured out he can help me. I'm in the customer service industry and I see a LOT of different things, but this for sure took the crown. There was no winning with this guy, he apparently thought I was not good enough to buy a vacuum clean from his "boutique", he seriously said boutique store, and that I really don't have anything better to do on a Saturday afternoon than trying to waste sales people time? Wow, that guy must live in an incredible good fantasy world. After I left the store after less than ten minutes I went to Sears. I cannot tell you what a breath of fresh air the sales person was. Even with other customers around, by the way I was the only person in the other store, now I know why, he answered all my questions and within less than 15 minutes I walked out with a new vacuum cleaner that works fantastic. Sad thing is that this boutique vacuum cleaner store is giving small business a bad reputation. I'm pretty weary going into a small store right now after that kind of experience. read more
