Mr. Wok 's food has great food, and good portion sizes for your money. One thing I am disappointed about it the lack of vegetables in a dish. Even something like onions, you can't add extra, and pineapple, they don't have any. The best thing about their meals is the pork fried rice! It's so good. They would have gotten the fifth star but the woman who works there in the afternoon is not friendly AT ALL. Very serious, and actually has an evil smirk at you.(Maybe his wife?) But I did meet Mr. Wok and he is a very very nice guy, and friendly to everyone. I ordered the lunch portion and he tossed me a free water bottle at no cost. FOr fast food Americanized Chinese this about as good as you can get. Food is fresh and not loaded with MSG. Chicken dishes use all white meat chicken and not that brownish combo particle chiccken that might not be chicken most other fast food chinese places use. This place is a hole in the walll restaurant a couple of doors down from w.g. grinders. I consider this place to be one of the best locally owned businesses in Gahanna. Great place to get dinner for everybody without going broke. Even the lunch menu, until 330, is better and faster than fast food. The food was inedible due to hard peas that were in it. Not sure how peas even get that hard and dried out. They were definitely not fresh or even straight out of a can. Returning the bad food after I had gotten home was extremely inconvenient as I live several miles away. Adding insult to injury, they only gave me a partial refund. Don't bother with calling in or ordering online, they will start your order once you get there regardless so you might as well just go and wait. Had to wait an extra 30 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready. As far as the food is concerned It's on par with maybe slightly lower then the other Amerinese restaurants in the area... will probably go to Panda Express more often as it's faster, cheaper, and tastes better. read more

I've been a patron of magic/mr wok since it first opened years ago. It has remained my favorite place for take out Chinese in gahanna. I have yet to be disappointed, that being said, it's hard to branch out and try new things when you are happy with your usual. The shrimp they use in Shrimp w broccoli and Shrimp w garlic sauce are big and plump. The general tso chicken is wonderful, and My husband will order nothing but that. For fast Chinese this ok. Never saw any employee wash their hands after cleaning tables, smoking, etc. Food was hot but not very flavorful. In rush and want Chinese, this will do. Just make sure they sanitize their hands but that maybe asking much. read more

Giving them one star probably is a little more than what Mr. Wok deserves. Food at Mr. Wok is average, nothing other than poorly prepared generic American Chinese food that you can find at any so-called Chinese restaurant. Service at Mr. Wok is measured in quantity rather than quality. Staffs at Mr. Wok barely understand English, especially when you put in a larger order with some specifications, the respectful person on the other would get lost immediately, and instead of looking for help, they simple say "you come here and order, okay?!" then HANG UP on you IMMEDIATELY! This has happened to me couple times, and tonight I called at 2300, first I asked how late they open, the person on the other side said something then hung up on me, I called back with confusion and asked what time they close, the other person on the phone said something again and hung up on me again! I simply thought they were closed. I shared the story with my girlfriend and amazingly she was able to order my food when she called! Saturday lunch with my 10 year old grand child............this place is horrible.......disgusting and dirty, rude staff and we threw away most of the food. the sweet and sour chicken seemed to be just tiny frozen pieces of hard chicken with a store bought red sauce, the white rice not too bad but the chicken wonton soup tasted like crap with hard wontons, very greasy... will never go here again, money in the trash. read more
