I ended up coming here after trying out another business in the area with terrible costumer service. This place was bomb. The setup of the store is nice, big and great for takeout if you prefer that. The view of the kitchen looked clean and well organized. The options here are great and the costumer service of the staff is what I enjoyed best. Chef King came to me completely out of nowhere and those are the best kind of establishments in my opinion ! The family was craving chicken wings and wouldn't give me suggestions and so I got on my trusty iPhone and started looking for " the best chicken wing places in AC" .. Chef King came up multiple times ! I ordered for pick up the special " Aint no thang but a chicken wang " ( the listed special names are amazing ) for $7.50 BUT I subbed out the ride for French Fry's SO that cost $2.50 . Still not bad whatsoever and it's ALOT of food. I also ordered two Spring Rolls = $4 and this is my go to order at any Chinese restaurant : Crab Rangoon but here it was called : "Cream Cheese Wontons $6.25 aka Crab Rangoon served with Sweet and Sour sauce (is bussin on god on god)" You receive 12 of them and they are smaller than the regular wontons you would receive . The chicken and rice was the best out of the entire order and it was very worth it to pick it up and save myself the extra fees and delivery fees. Even though I have " dash pass " and this and that. I saved myself a lot of unnecessary wasted money . Also , on certain delivery apps that food costs much more than it did when you order directly from the restaurant or Google menu . Ordering through Grubhub everything came out to being about $10-$14 more- for some reason the prices of all the food items were higher Getting there was super easy and it is on a one way ( this is A.C now folks ‍) but it's Duck-town so it's a cool part to look a round and a couple nice shops to check out. Anywho , the people working there were polite and gave me extra of everything which NEVER happens and I really had a great experience. I wouldn't re order the crab Rangoon or spring rolls. It was extra fried and not "The best " it was more for the ones that can handle "heart burn city" and it did made me wish I was a " salad person " in those moments of chewing. But THAT Daily Specials chicken wings ( all white meat- yes sirrrr ) well the parts I got anyway and rice dish is a great last minute dinner pick up or a quick pop by to grab lunch without breaking the bank and the special seems to be ALL DAY! We ventured out of the hotel to find food that was a little bit better within our budget. We ran across this place and saw that it had good reviews so we decided to try. We ordered several items and we're pleased with every single one we got.The Moo goo gai pan was made well. I really enjoyed this dish. The rice was freshly cooked. My sister loved the half chicken. The only thing we didn't really care for too much was a fried rice but we usually don't eat fried rice.We prefer steamed rice. The hot and sour soup was not like how it's cooked in Texas, but it still was excellent. The egg dish we got was very good w/ the sauce. The steamed dumplings were good. On a budget AC trip.... This was the ultimate budget meal. I ate at almost all the "fancy" restaurants and sometimes you want nostalgia. Hood Chinese it is. I got Shrimp fried rice and four chicken wings. Hood defined meal indeed. This is the meal that always brings me back after a hangover. Every. Single. Time. I wasn't expecting much. I know better. Why was I blown away by this hole in the wall Chinese joint?? The fried chicken was different. The chicken tasted very very fresh and it was seasoned. No Hood Chinese joint seasons their chicken wings (except for Snyder Wings in Brooklyn). The only thing I wish they had was better hot sauce....the one I am use to in the 24 ounce red unlabeled bottle. Second trip to AC and I was dying for this meal. Silly right? I had shrimp Chop Suey which was a delicious low-fat mixture of shrimp, onions and vegetables in a light sauce. A pint was $4.75, $8-9 for a quart. Also got beef with broccoli for my daughter, which had bright, fresh broccoli and sauce that wasn't oily. I also ordered steamed dumplings, which are clearly homemade. They are bready dumplings (not thin like wantons) which were like a warm hug. Everything was made fresh to order and steaming hot. They have photos of many dishes on the wall to help you decide. What is this, the south? Their loss was my gain, as I stumbled into Chef King, a little bit ambivalent but still very hungry. They have lots of off menu specials and several more "authentic Chineses" items you don't see in every American-Chinese place. I was in and out within 10 minutes, steaming Lo Mein in hand. This place is a place that holds a special place in my heart. I grew up eating from here 2-3 times a week when I was a kid (parents were immigrants working 2-3 crap jobs to make ends meet, don't judge). I love everything about this place. The fried rice is very fresh & flavorful. The dumplings, served fried or steamed with a tasty side sauce, only come in pork. The 6 Jumbo Shrimp (#4 on the menu) are butterflied, covered in crunchy & deep fried. The covering keeps the shrimp hot on the inside. The sesame chicken is also well prepared & delicious. Ordered food from this place via Uber Eats as it was the first option to appear under the "Chinese Food" section. We placed our order and paid through the app. When we went to pick up the food, the workers and owner insisted that they were cash only and that they didn't have our order. After showing the employees MULTIPLE pictures of our receipt/order/order number, and confirming the address of the restaurant, they were EXTREMELY rude and revealed that they had our food all along. I'm not sure why they gave us such a hard time with giving us the food that we PAID FOR. I'm not sure if they were unaware that they are connected to Uber Eats, but their disrespect and attitude was uncalled for.
