I came upon this new spot in Times Square while walking after through Rockefeller Center. It's more of a quick eats take out place for dumplings, noodles or bubble tea! You're not gonna find fine dining soup dumplings like in a Michelin star restaurant. It's a stop for quick eats when you really get hungry after walking over 10k steps. There's a kiosk to order and the staff/owner are nice. I've only tried the pork soup dumplings.

The food was very good! I could eat a whole thing of dumplings on my own. The service was great. The cashier was extremely pleasant. We ate there. The ambiance was like a fun diner atmosphere. It's in the heart of Times Square. I highly recommend this place.

The soup dumplings weren't really soupy, but the flavor was good and less soupiness made it easier to eat. My passion fruit bubble tea was customized, as requested, with less sugar. Surprised how much I enjoyed the soup chicken dumplings. Service was also great. Came for a quick lunch on a Monday afternoon. Food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. A small establishment so only a few places to sit in and eat but thinking can easily accommodate around 16 people.

Sadly I did not have a good experience here. The crystal shrimp dumplings were rubbery and tasted overcooked. Also they serve in a paper bowl, which causes the dumpling to take on the taste of paper. They should serve it on a plate like a real dim sum restaurant does.

At Mr Wu Dim Sum restaurant, I tried the Jumbo Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup. Not only were the broth and noodles delicious, but also the wontons were jumbo-sized and freshly made! I could taste the shrimp in every bite. And, I could see the steam from the fresh dumplings! I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea for takeout, it was sweet and delicious. The restaurant was spotless clean, and the customer service was great. The lady serving me was very friendly and polite :)

Used Yelp to find a nearby dim sum spot that I could order ahead while at a conference. I didn't realize that I was directed to DoorDash for a carry out order, but it worked just fine. This diner is small but has some seating inside at tables & counters. It's clean, bright, and well organized. You can see the steam baskets and fryers right up front. The staff was very friendly! Selection of food and drink is wonderful! And the food was delicious!! Each choice comes in the perfect size serving and the cutest containers! Love that this spot is so convenient to Time Square and priced about right for what you get in good time! read more

If you are looking for a quick bite in Times Square and you just want some lovely soup dumplings, this is the place to go. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the soup dumplings. They remind me of the dumplings I have had in China a bit. I am always a fan of these. They came out fairly quickly. Takes about 10 12 minutes to get your soup dumplings. Remember, right? They also have some other interesting things, but the menu is fairly small. It has a very small seating area, so can't get bit of warm. It's fast casual, so don't expect anything extra, no drinks, stuff like that. read more

The soup dumplings were good but had little to no soup. There's a sign that tells you the soup dumplings will take extra time (10 minutes) but I went up to order a purple yam bun and it took just as long. All of the food took a while and it was fine but not amazing. The shrimp dumplings tasted fishy. The service was fine. The purple yam bun was tasteless. This place was fine for a snack but I would not come here for a good dim sum experience. read more

Smack in the middle of Times Square, this was a great find for noodles, dim sum, and tea. No frills, just solid food. In the middle of a busy sea of pizza spots and fast food chains, this is a really good quick option when you want something a little different and actually satisfying. read more

Stopped by for last minute before heading to Penn Station. This is not the usual dim sum restaurant. I ordered the purple yam buns and custard buns, it was nicely packed with their own reusable bag. It is a little pricey, but at least I get to try something new instead the food hall at the Penn station. read more

The customer service was great even though seating is sparse. It's probably best as a to-go experience. Food is a little overpriced but that's expected so close to Times Square. We got the chicken wonton soup with noodles, the shumai, the soup dumplings, and the shrimp dumplings. The chicken wonton soup and soup dumplings were my favorite but others with me loved the shumai and shrimp dumplings. Overall it hit the spot. read more

I was craving bubble tea after dinner and stumbled upon Mr Wu Dim Sum. I ordered the Passionfruit Green Tea with Lychee Jelly and it was such a refreshing treat after a heavy meal! I asked for less sugar and the worker made it perfectly. I also tried the purple yam bun since I've never seen it elsewhere and it received the ultimate compliment any Asian mom can give to a dessert: "Not too sweet." The bun was so soft and fresh with a slight hint of sweetness in the middle. I'll be back to try their noodles next! read more

This is not a restaurant I would recommend. The food is terrible and overpriced; the only redeeming quality amidst the overall poor experience is the good service. I even made a special trip to eat there after taking the sightseeing bus. The result was very disappointing. read more

What a gem of an establishment in the heart of New York City. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and the person that took my order was knowledgeable and explained their menu in detail. I ended up getting their best sellers, mango Jasmine tea, blueberry Jasmine tea, and their pork soup dumplings. The drinks were refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness and the soup dumplings were juicy with a very thin layer of skin. It was so blah-ordered a few different things and they all tasted the same. Noodles were all stick together and no taste. It didn't matter if it was chicken, braised beef, or pork and shrimp. We tried them all, and they were tasteless. And two of the six dishes were wrong. read more

We ate at this establishment on Nov 26. My husband ordered soup with dumplings. I asked for vegetable dumplings. They said they had this, but it turned out they had imitation beef and chicken dumplings and called that vegetable dumplings. So instead, I picked shrimp dumplings. My husband did not like the soup, but he was hungry and he ate it. I had one dumpling and realized that whatever was inside this dumpling was not all shrimp. The next dumpling, I took apart and only ate the shrimp part that I could identify. The next dumpling, the shrimp looked like it had already been eaten. It was so gross. I tried to return my dumplings and they gave me such a hassle that we ended up leaving without getting a refund. We depend on yelp ratings when we are out of town and eating out. I don't know who gave this over a four star, but I would definitely not suggest eating here. read more

This little shop has great food! We got the pork and shrimp shumai, the ban mian beef noodles, the coconut yolk custard buns, and the jasmine milk tea. The jasmine milk tea was incredible; it had a strong flavor without being bitter. The shumai had lots of fresh filling and were big. The service was also great. I came in towards the end of the night looking for some take out, and they were so nice about it. The food was ready quickly, and the inside of the restaurant was cute. Lots of stool seating. Definitely would recommend read more

Some of the worst noodles I've had in my life. I got the beef ban mian and am apalled that I paid $20 for something that is worse than the lowest quality store bought ramen. The noodles were undercooked and the beef was super salty (seemed like watered down jerky). It also didnt come with any egg or garnish as advertised on the menu. Definitely save your money and don't eat here! read more

Order the pork bun - only to find out there is no pork. Then was furthur ridiculed by staff because she told me veg. Is abbreviation for vegan. I still don't understand how you can call it a pork bun if there is no pork. The peach tea is good. read more

Friendly employees but the vegan options are terrible and overpriced. I got the vegan chicken sticky rice balls and they were tiny things with zero flavor. The vegan chicken was wet and spongy. Everything needed flavor, salt, spice, anything to make it taste good. With a delicious but way overpriced tea and tip, my order was almost $20. Not going back. read more

We ordered both the standard pork XLB and my faves, the pork and crab ones, as well as pan fried pork dumplings which I was surprised to discover were also full of soup, chicken corn dumplings, and two noodle dishes: rice cake with pork & mustard greens, and pan fried noodles with beef. Servers were conscientious about allergies and very specific about letting us know which items were which, but other than that were largely appropriately hands off. They did ask us, mid-meal, if it would be ok if a service dog were at the next table to ours, which I thought was courteous. (The service dog was adorable and well behaved.) All the food was fab, which we expected. It's nice to come in a group and be able to order more items for a greater variety. The rookies executed well (and thanked us for the instructions on how to eat XLB to avoid getting soup everywhere) and were pleasantly surprised by my longtime favorite, the rice cake and mustard greens. I'll need to remember that the pan fried pork dumplings also have soup, because I really liked the texture of them. Such good food, and as always, better shared with friends.

We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.
