I've been to Mrs. London's a handful of times and it's typically a very pleasant experience. The staff was especially friendly and helpful at my last visit, and my friend was thrilled with the ambience as this was her first introduction to the cafe. My orders were not all the way correct, which is why the 4 stars. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with side fruit and an iced vanilla oat milk latte. I was brought a ham and egg sandwich, which I cannot eat and had to send back. The fruit was ripe and so delicious. My latte was missing the vanilla. They handled the sandwich mixup with grace and were very apologetic. Looking forward to returning and getting more desserts. read more

Super cute cafe with locations in Saratoga Springs, NY and in Westport CT. They do offer gluten free options The cafe was pretty busy . Indoors all the seatings were taken but they do have a nice outdoor patio with seating. We enjoyed what we ate. My quiche was gluten free and the crust was perfect! Just wish the piece was a tad bit bigger. My latte was perfect! And my macaron was fresh and delicious. Filled with cream and berries. It's just perfect if you want something light , sweet, savory. While in the area with my mom who wanted a cup of tea and something sweet, we decided to stop into Mrs. London's. Love the cafe's pink Parisian aesthetic, and everything in the dessert case looked so good that it was hard to choose! The framboise was my favorite - so fruity and fresh! The nebula and galette were great too. The only things we weren't crazy about were our drinks. The hot chocolate was very bitter, which I guess I should've expected, but I couldn't even get through half of it no matter how much milk I put in. My mom also felt her tea was extremely weak. The girls were friendly at the counter, and I would definitely consider stopping in for a dessert again. read more

Mrs London is a very nice cafe in Westport. The decoration is unique, the patio is lovely in the summer. Seeing the mixed reviews, westport location does calls for higher rent and costs, so the bakery & coffee are priced accordingly, making this spot pricy. It is definitely not the most affordable coffee in town, but it is a very nice atmosphere, with a nice staff, consistently tasty dishes & coffee. Id recommend it for anyone looking for a local coffee spot, with a unique ambiance. read more

Mrs London's is a lovely coffee shop / bakery with an ambiance of relaxed sophistication. Breads and pastries are amazing...and that wonderful "bakery smell" when you walk in is delightful. As with all of the above it appeals especially to women, with its soft pink motif throughout, and men will be thanked by their wives for taking them there. I loved it. Charged 40% over the marked price for an item. Cashier refused to honor marked price. Beware prices marked on baked goods in the case can be significantly below price in the cash register system. Poorly trained cashier not aware of the CT law that customer should be charged price marked. I bought a (what turned out to be a dry & stale) muffin that was marked $4 and with tax was charged $6.07 because the system had it marked as $5.50. The cashier just looked at me and said that the system is always right. I did not want to ask for a price adjustment since the cashier was convinced that the system overrules CT state law. Also there were 6 people in line behind me and I did not want to hold everyone up for $1.50. A gentleman behind me stopped me and said I think she just charged you $5.50 for something that was marked $4. I told him I know and he said to both the cashier and me that by CT state law she has to honor the price. (I think he was more affronted than me!) She responded that she was going to change it right now. So she took the price placard out of the bakery case and marked up the price to $5.50. You can't make this stuff up. Now I know why Mrs London's ratings are no higher than 5 stars. Poorly trained staff, pricing issues, and stale muffins. I wish we had looked at how many low ratings this restaurant had before stopping there. This was an annoying end to a really great breakfast I had a few doors down at Studio also at Sconset Square which is much better rated and deserved to be. read more

Mrs. London's is an adorable pastry shop in downtown Westport. This is like a little pastry shop from the movies. When you walk inside you'll notice pink. Pink decor and pink couches, pink floors and pink walls. Mrs. London's is elegantly styled. They have lots of pastries to choose from, lunches and soups. They make coffees and cocktails. I was with my mom. She ordered a cappuccino and I ordered their Elderberry flavored coffee, that was listed on their specials menu. For a light snack I got their chocolate banana muffin and mom got their croissant. We sat outside, and pretty quickly they brought out the goods. Everything looked so lovely. Pink plates, and a pink glass for my coffee, pink cup and saucer for the cappuccino. This presentation is so pretty, and picturesque. Unfortunately this is where the pretty ends. My coffee tasted bitter, even after adding sweetener. It wasn't enjoyable at all. My muffin wasn't fresh, I was going to let that slide, until I found a questionable something chunky, and odd in my muffin. My mom said her cappuccino was just fine, and her croissant wasn't fresh and fluttery like it should be. I told them about the weird substance in my muffin, they said it's banana that hadn't blended with the rest of the ingredients. Hmm.. they didn't offer any redemption for it. If it's banana, why was it black? because it's not fresh. This was a very disappointing and underwhelming experience at Mrs. London's. The look of the shop is adorable, but their pastries aren't fresh. I'd advise skipping this place. read more

Warning! They do not tell you upfront about additional charges. It was not until I looked at my receipt after getting home that I saw a tip on my receipt. Good thing I did not leave a tip (keep reading) on the POS while paying as they would have gotten an extra one. In addition, there was a charge for using my credit card. At no time during the ordering or paying process was any mention made or shown anywhere about these addition charges. Very dishonest! My order came out long before my wife's. Neither of use were given utensils or napkins. I had to find someone and ask. Both dishes tasted okay but were very greasy. The cookies we also got were okay but again greasy. First of all, in this page it says "Closed". Well... it's open. Bad and slow service. You always has to ask them to come and clean up the table of the left over of the previous client so you can seat and eat properly. Croissants with "something" inside have almost "nothing" inside. The music outdoor was beyond loud and certainly not appealing to any of the customers, the food was beyond mediocre and we tried few different things: smoked turkey croissant, tomato soup and burrata with oranges. One word- inconsistent. First time had the Ricotta toast. So lovely. We went back several times in a short period. I stopped ordering the ricotta toast when it became thin, watery ricotta instead of the lovely cheese they served originally. Even tried it a second time thinking it was off one time. Nope. Switched to the mushroom omelette. Very good until I was served one with half a shaker of salt in it. Decided it was best to stick with the French toast in the future- so lovely and custard like. Honestly the environment is what keeps me coming back on a Sunday morning. Park, take a walk, have a nice breakfast outside. Right? Decide it would be nice for Mother's Day. Took 15 minutes just ti order with about 5 people in front of us. Ordered the special waffle (I know, had planned to stick with the French toast). After waiting at least 10 minutes, someone comes out from the kitchen to tell me they don't have the special anymore and what would I like instead. Ok? French toast. Is the price the same? I don't know- they don't bother to address how much I paid. We wait at least another 10 minutes or more. Out comes French toast with some black spots. Ok, spent a little extra time on the griddle. Cut into what I expect to be custard like inside and it is dry white bread that never saw a drop of egg batter. Clearly the soaking time was skipped and added to the time on the griddle. Daughter ordered the ricotta toast ( brave). The watery cheese was replaced by something that looked like a smear of cream cheese. She also ordered a lemon danish- the lemon curd was broken. The dirty chai latte had no chai. This is a place that seems to be thriving. It is a lovely location for an indoor/outdoor cafe. It is relying on its location and mucking about with the food and service. Skip ordering from the menu if you go. Get a cookie and if you like black coffee get the "bold" version. I recently ordered a cake from the Westport location, was quoted a price of $45, picked it up the next day and did not take the time to view the receipt before walking out the door. The location had added an automatic 20% gratuity onto a cake that I ordered over the phone and then quickly picked up myself. I fully recognize the tipping is often appropriate, having waited tables myself for a number of years, however it seems unreasonable to automatically add 20% across the board, whether picked up or eaten in, especially given that the website includes nothing related to gratuity, and no mention of this gratuity was made when I picked it up. Giving people the option is helpful, and even making it automatic, when people eat in is reasonable, however not communicating anything, and tacking on an additional 20% for someone coming in to pick up a pre-ordered cake is not a good way to maintaining return business. read more

A lovely place with delicious food yet it is presently 60 degrees in here and everyone is wearing their winter jackets and hoodies while it is 40 degrees outside, cold and rainy. Is the owner trying to save on his heating bill at the expense of his customers? He certainly charges enough for his food that he can afford to have it warm. Then I would give it 5 stars. Unfortunately one of the most unpleasant dining experiences that I've had in a while. Stopped in for a quick breakfast and coffee - Two of the items we ordered (Greek yogurt and a quiche) were taking a while so we checked in on it after around 25 minutes. At the 45 minute mark and after watching everyone else around us get their food, we asked again and were shortly brought over the yogurt. At this point we were asked to what kind of quiche we were ordered and we told them and said no worries. After waiting an hour, and after watching every other table receive their food (mind you there were maybe 6 others. It was not busy) I requested a refund as I no longer wanted the food. After all of this and a generally frustrating experience, the person working the front told me that I was never charged for a quiche. I pulled up my bank statement and then I was finally reimbursed for the quiche that I was charged for - after an hour. Unpleasant experience overall, I will not be returning. read more

Oof. What a disaster. I looooove Mrs London's in Saratoga Springs - my husband even had my favorite pastry shipped to CT for our engagement prior to Westport opening. This store is not the Mrs London's I love. I ordered macarons, shortbread cookies and chocolate chip cookies. The clerk dumped them all in one bag, macaroons on the bottom, crushing them to pieces. No care taken. I wanted a ham and cheese baguette. I watched them cut a dozen baguettes in half, butter them, put cheese, ham, etc. 24 halves were prepared - the entire batch - before they gave me mine. There was a man who acted like an owner/manager who had his cell phone in his hand while he picked up and moved loaves of bread - bare hands and cell phone touching them all. So expensive for the quality and care provided. read more

After talking to the waiter and main chef about a nut allergy, the restaurant added whole pistachios to my husband's meal. This sent us to the hospital. The owner claimed that they don't cover hospital bills because of allergy cross contamination. This was not cross contamination when they put whole pistachios in the meal. The service was awful to the point that one patron ordered a dish with no nuts who was extremely allergic after they confirmed with two different employees in the manager, they still put nuts causing the guest to have to go to the hospital.
