For starters, what a special place! I went with family to MS Torun, and our experience went beyond my expectations. Imagine stepping into Europe in the gorgeous hills of Napa Valley. The property, the history, the knowledge, the wine, the food, the olive oil, and of course the owners, AMAZING. Sid and his wife were the best hosts ever. My first time in Napa. I was driving through Napa Valley and I like to be spontaneous so I followed the first sign to some winery that I never heard of, taking private road all the way up. Fascinating views! I ended up on a top of the mountains. Sid, who is the owner, meets me there. He is very welcoming with his big charming smile! He takes me on a golf type of car even higher in a mountains to see his property, giving me incredible tour. Besides that he gave me complimentary wine during the trip. I also met his beautiful wife. They both had such a great energy. This people have very unique story to how they immigrated to this country from Turkey, boug the land and build everything from scratch, including their road! I so admire their story and their hard work. Their wine one of the best wines I've ever had, and I have pretty good knowledge of wines. They also they have many beautiful animals, they make olive oil and have accommodations to stay and enjoy the whole experience. Absolutely unforgettable time. Thank you Mr. Sid for everything! A winery and vineyard experience like no other!! We spotted a vineyard up high and then a small sign for a tasting room. Little did we know we would meet the formidable "Sid" Torun. The gate was closed but when we called he told us to open the gate and come up. The very steep driveway to the main building was a hint of the precipitous path he took us on his ATV to the peak with 360 views for a tasting. The Cabernet Sauvignon was delicious and his stories amazing. He lost much during the wildfires but rebuilt and replanted. The latest project is a fire temple. read more

This winery was such a wonderful experience! The views on the mountain are breathtaking. The winery is beautiful more-so as you discover that the owner has built all of this beauty over the past 20 years by hand. The whole experience was made even more wonderful by the kind and accommodating owners as they share a meal with foods made all from their farm. It was so peaceful being able to eat great food and sip on one of their wines while looking at the breathtaking scenery. Currently the winery is by appointment so make sure to call ahead. The entrance fee gives you a lovely meal and opportunity to explore the winery with mountain views of Lake Berryessa. The wine is a separate cost and is being sold by the bottle. This is certainly a unique winery and property. The views from the top of the property are spectacular. The owners are welcoming and it's obvious that this property is a labor of love. The food prepared for us was delicious. The reason for a less than stellar review is the misrepresentation of the tour and visit that had been planned. The visit was to include wine tasting and olive oil tasting, with optional hiking on their property's trails. When we arrived, we were taken to the wine cellar, where the proprietor told us of the varietals they produce and then said that they currently only have a cabernet. We were to pick a bottle to drink. We were quite confused, as the the expectation that had been set was for a wine tasting. After selecting a bottle for us, we were ushered to a small utility vehicle and told to get in for a tour. There were 4 of us, and the back was very small, so one of us sat in front with the proprietor. The other 3 squeezed into the back. There was no back gate on the vehicle. The tour consisted of driving on very rough dirt roads across the property. It was not pleasant and bordered on unsafe. We were served the cabernet at a stop at the top of the property. Then returned to the house and were served food. There was no wine tasting or no olive oil tasting. The issue here was one of setting misleading expectations by providing misleading information about the tasting and tour. read more

This is a very unique experience that I highly recommend. The food was delicious. Everything is from the winery/ranch cheeses, olives, honey, fruits, vegetables. We purchased a bottle of cab to have with the tasting and we were the only people besides the owner (Sid) on the property which was a welcome change from busy Napa/Sonoma wineries. The best winery we've ever been to. We saw it as we approached our campsite and the next day parked outside their gate and called for a tasting. They were so accommodating, immediately coming down to let us in and show us their winery. They gave us the option if where ti sit and we got to choose one of the best views we saw in napa valley. The wine we had was divine and the tasting included many plates of various foods grown right on property. Everything was delicious, even if we normally wouldn't have liked the food. Highly recommend you make your way here during your Napa visit. This Winery is something that you would find in a James Bond movie. It's hard to describe. It's in the hills of the incredible Lake Berryessa, which is an amazing recreational lake with 165 miles of shoreline in the Napa Valley. The property (and the owners) are complex. The setting is a museum/entertainment park/vineyard/Mediterranean garden/entertainment center/ranch/petting farm. The wine is organic and delicious. They make homemade olive oil, goat cheese, jams, and honey and each is delicious. The owners take extreme pride and care of their products, their land, their animals and their guest. A friend took a couple of us up there for lunch and wine. I assumed we would be there for a couple of hours, and ended up there for over five hours. It has breathtaking views, is relaxing, fun and almost mysterious. The lunch was entirely different than anything you will get elsewhere. All of the products are from their farm, vineyard, orchards set out in large quantities. You can start by sipping olive oil in the most delicate Turkish glasses. Then move onto to the spread that goes on and on. The owners were engaging, intelligent, and unpretentious. They want you to ask questions about anything you're interested in on their land. I came away with more in-depth knowledge on some issues on wine making and growing vegetables, and I am far from a novice. And although we did not spend the night, they do have a bed-and-breakfast. When you encounter people who love nature and fulfill their dreams you end up with a place like this. I would recommend this 100%. read more

My wife and a great friend were looking for a fun adventure on a Saturday that we were spending at our Berryessa Highlands home. I had seen the sign on Hwy 128 indicating a winery 2 miles up Wragg Canyon rd. We called and got a "tasting" reservation from Sid. We were expecting a typical boutique winery tasting that's available through out the region. What we received was anything but typical! The minute you arrive at the gate the adventure begins. The steep drive brings you to a round building that is a fantastic structure for tasting and hosting wine events. Sid and his property were right in the middle of the fire zone that tore through the region last August. His property took a few hits but he has made a miraculous recovery. We were invited up to his home and seated at a shaded table that looked out over the valley. After answering the multitude of questions we had, he provided a great overview of the properties history and we selected a bottle of wine to enjoy. The table had traditional ornate tea cups and silver wrapped in linen napkins. We poured a glass of wine and off went Sid to the kitchen. He returned with plates of olives, cheeses, goat butter, honey, fig jam, mulberry molasses, quiche, dried and fresh fruits, bread and tea. We had the full bounty offered by the property together with a narrative of how the 3 different olives were cured and marinated, how the cheese and butter were made, why the flavor of the honey (from his hives!) was so unique and wonderful. It was a fantastic experience and way beyond what we expected. Sid was a wonderful host and renaissance man with an amazing success and perseverance story. read more

The two are some of the hardest working people in the world and never let a moment go by in which you don't feel in awe of what hey have built together. Come enjoy the world-famous "Kurdish laundry" in eastern Napa county. The two have been working for many long years to scratch a paradise out of the Napa hillside turning rough, steep scrub land into a ranch, winery, and home. It feels like being in Kurdistan in eastern Turkey as you'll see the Kurdish names, architecture, and artifacts in your journey throughout the land. Of course, you will get to try the wonderful, home-made Kurdish food which Naciye lovingly prepares from what the garden and animals on the land provide. 13 courses of cheeses including goat cheese from the goats in the barn, olives from the trees on the land, freshly laid eggs from the chickens, honey from the beehives, and so much more. If you have the time, there's numerous trails that they built out of the hillside amounting to dozens of miles of scenic hiking with views of the surrounding mountains and of Lake Berryessa. In the massive tasting room, you can try several varieties of their handmade organic wine fresh from the barrel. Sid has experimented with both making his own excellent wines as well as with working with a well regarded local vintner and the results are superb. Or sit down on the patio and gaze across the valley while sipping on your glass of wine. It's been 7 years since we first visited the winery and stayed in what felt like another world. We've been coming back regularly ever since and the winery has grown to encompass so much. Come see it now, because in 2020 there will the long awaited grand opening, and surely after that you will be hard pressed to get an appointment to spend time in this amazing place. read more

We kind of spontaneously decided to check out this Winery as we were exploring the area and assumed due to COVID there would be no tastings. However Sid and his wife were just incredible. We asked for a tasting and we were brought a plethora of homemade food. All from the farm that was built and founded by this amazing couple. From freshly homemade goats cheese , olive oil, honey, bread, walnuts and more. I almost forgot about the wine. It's a taste of the Mediterranean here in Napa. I think it would be better to have a typical tasting option available, I.e. being able to taste a bit of every wine, but I can see that perhaps due to COVID it's better for such a small batch winery that you purchase a bottle to drink with the food. The owner, Sid, is a wonderful host. We purchased wine and sampled the many fruits of his land-olive oil, olives, got cheese,honey, quince, mulberries. A very traditional Turkish (Kurdish?) meal overlooking a gorgeous valley. The vineyard is on a steep incline of the valley-very lush and beautiful despite the devastating fires from the previous year. We were allowed to explore the property but unfortunately only saw the beautiful horses. We missed the chickens and peacocks and goats-but we heard the rooster! read more

The owner is originally from Kurdistan and has built many references to the Kurdish traditions into the winery, letting you experience the Middle Eastern culture and hospitality. Expect scenic views, great home-made foods (goat cheese, olive oil etc) and fun conversations with the owner who personally takes care of his guests.
