If you are from long island you know the parking lot is one of the worst. Thankfully this restaurant makes it worth it. The rice was probably once of the best ones I've had at hibachi in a while. The service was lacking, I felt like they miss the point of serving more drinks in between the hibachi experience. We went in a Saturday night and were unable to sit at a Teppanyaki table since we did not have a reservation, understandable. The staff were very friendly and assured us we could order from the Hibachi menu at a regular table. There is large selection of sushi on the menu but we opted for the Hibachi Filet Mignon and Shrimp. The meal comes with clear soup which was absolutely tasteless and a house salad which was good and had a nice ginger dressing. The meal took forever to arrive and the waitress came out to apologize for the delay several times. When the food finally arrived it was covered with teriyaki sauce, the vegetables were soggy and the fried rice didn't really taste like it has been fried at all. The portion was generous but we were not expecting to have teriyaki on our meal. At this point given the amount of time it took for them to prepare this food we did not elect to send it back. I highly recommend going here for lunch as they have great lunch specials for both hibachi and sushi. I highly recommend any of the hibachi specials and I also highly recommend the mt. Fuji salad which is my favorite thing on the menu. The rolls are alright but not anything too special so I'd recommend going for the hibachi over the rolls. The service is fast and friendly. The place gets very noisy at night with a lot of family and kids sitting at the hibachi tables so beware it's not the greatest place for a date. My family and I are regulars at Mt. Fuji. We order takeout from them about once a month. We order the same thing that we go every time: Chicken Hibachi. What can I say? We are creatures of habit. The portions are huge so there is likely to be leftover. It usually ends of being second dinner for us to be honest. The hibachi dinner comes with clear soup and a salad. The dressing on the salad will have you licking the plate clean it is so good. The sauces that come with the hibachi are also incredible. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars was because the rice at other hibachi places has more veggies in it, and with the extra veggies he cooked, he only offered to two people, meanwhile there was enough for the whole group of us to have more lol. I ordered Chicken & Steak Hibachi, medium-rare but it was cooked more medium than rare. I've gotten sushi to-go, from here prior to this visit and it wasn't bad. Went here for the ‍ time because we have been going for years! I couldn't believe I haven't reviewed yet! So great hibachi tables and always a fun time. The chefs are very energetic and interactive Today it was just me and dad for his 70th birthday! Wanted something simple and local being a Monday after Súper bowl, before Valentine's Day and after my birthday. (In which I have yet to celebrate) thanks COVID! I never order bento boxes but he did and I was so hungry I couldn't think so I did the same. So much food! Of course I need to order a roll, edamame as well as an appetizer he wanted. I substituted brown rice and it held up well. There wasabi is spicy so i know they make it right! The rolls are always delicious and FRESH! The manager or owner came by twice to check on things, we didnt order dessert but they surprised us! It's great being at a local place versus the national chain. Scallops are the way to go. Shrimp were good too. Experience was well worth it. What a fun place. The chef/entertainer made all the difference in this locally owned version of Benihana. Between our family we ordered steak, veggies, shrimp, and scallops. Get the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were HUGE! Of course hibachi is all about the "show", and our chef really delivered. He was so full of joy and really engaged everyone at the table the entire time. As for me and my brother Hibachi is usually just really expensive stir fry. My family of ten were here at Mt Fuji today. Some of us had Hibachi and some had Sushi. Everyone enjoyed the meals and the live action hibachi cooking. The hibachi cooked food was absolutely excellent. Some of us had the chicken and I had the shrimp. The accompanying fried rice and vegetables were wonderful. Our grandkids really had a great time watching the chef as he cooked the fresh ingredients and served our entrees. Service was excellent. Soup and salad arrived immediately after orders were taken. Spent 500 dollars and we were out in less than an hour. We've been here numerous times over the years. Ambience around the hibachi table would have been better with more than 2 people but the cook did his best putting on the show, flames, saki, and cooking the correct food for each. Small and a little bit loud. But the service is good and the food is delicious. So what is to argue? Looks good for family meals

Starting off, they did a great job with social distancing and kept the space pretty wide for being a bit of a small restaurant. As a given, everyone wore masks and the staff was very consistent in taking away our empty plates. I brought along Laura because I know how much she can enjoy a sushi roll and I trust her judgement when I write these reviews (also because I love her). The pricing is fair. It is a bit more expensive than other sushi restaurants but it doesn't cause a huge damage to your wallet. ANYWAY. The food. I was intrigued when I saw the chicken and spinach dumplings appetizer instead of ordering the usual vegetable that I get with my chinese food. We both split them and to be honest, I regretted it after the first bite, and then following the second and third one I ate; it came with six and yes, I have the problem of continuing to eat a meal that I didn't enjoy. The chicken was a bit too dry for our liking so the only solution was to drown it in soy sauce. It lacked in flavor and provided no satiety to our taste buds. If you like chicken and you like dumplings, I highly recommend getting them separately. Rate: 4/10 (just because you can still never go wrong with dumplings) I ordered myself a seaweed salad and the spicy salmon hand roll. To be clear, a hand roll is when the roll is wrapped in a cone-like shape and stuffed inside a seaweed wrapping. A classic roll is, well, the classic sushi roll that comes in little bite-sized pieces. I was a huge fan and devoured the whole thing. There was a perfect amount of rice and a bit more salmon in there than I thought there would be but trust me, I am absolutely okay with it. I love ordering a spicy fish because I know I never need to ask for any sort of hot sauce and this roll had the perfect kick to it. The seaweed was a bit tough but nothing that caused too much trouble to chew. My rating: 8/10 *Pro tip* I put some seaweed salad in my roll and it was like the m&m on top of the ice cream. (I hate cherries so I couldn't come to make the other analogy. Seaweed salads are a little hard to mess up considering that it's only seaweed (kelp) with some soy sauce dressing on top. The serving that I was provided had the perfect amount of dressing and sesame seeds. They give a pretty good sized portion that can easily be finished in one sitting and it is placed on top of a regular salad; I had never seen seaweed salad like that but it made no difference to the taste. My rating: 7/10 Laura ordered the clear soup that comes with meals when ordering hibachi; it is usually made of meat broth and vegetables (mostly mushrooms). Given that we did not order hibachi, she asked for it as an appetizer. She enjoyed it but it didn't seem like it brought any light to her eyes and started crying; "it wasn't my fave ever" is how she claimed it to be. Her rating: 7/10 She had also ordered two classic sushi rolls: the king crab and spicy shrimp. The king crab consisted of lettuce, avocado, cucumber and tobiko; she enjoyed it but wished she had gotten the spicy version instead. With the spicy shrimp, she had no complaints but she didn't love it; it was your basic, average-tasting shrimp (take that as you will). Her rating king crab: 7/10 --- spicy shrimp: 6/10 For dessert at sushi restaurants, our WEAKNESS is green tea ice cream. The menu said it was two scoops but let me tell you, it seemed like it was about 3-4. I mean, we still ate all of it (we each got our own) and THAT'S what brings light to our eyes. It had the most perfect texture and the taste was out of this world. If you have never tried green tea ice cream and enjoy the taste of green tea, GET IT. We are currently looking for places like Baskin Robbins or Carvel that sell green tea ice cream without going to a restaurant. They topped it with a small bit of whipped cream with very little sprinkles but we didn't care too much about that. Obviously, we wished they had done 5-6 scoops. Rating: 9.5/10 ("there's always room for improvement" -Laura) To sum up, we would definitely go back there and try their hibachi next. Our waitress was very nice and our food came out very quickly (I'm not kidding- our waitress had the secret identity of the Flash). For my next trip, I also want to try their spicy summer lobster because I saw someone have it and my eyes just about popped out of my head. Overall rating: 8.5/10 read more

Had a family celebration here with 10 people for lunch today. Service was wonderful, very kind staff. I loved that the waitress asked if anyone had any food allergies they should be aware of, and was told they even have gluten free soy sauce available too. Our chef was wonderful and kept everyone engaged.. portions were very large for the great lunch specials they offer. We loved how the chef even cut the kids steak in small pieces perfect sized for them..Everyone enjoyed their hibachi meals and the sushi ordered was fresh. I went at 2 something in the afternoon it was totally empty. So i just quickly paid and took my to-go order home. Once at home the shumi was super cold(badic taste) and the suce was Blisteringly salty. Ive had this from other restaurants and never have it come or taste like this. I am in love with Mt. Fuji as I've been going here since they opened up years ago. The fried rice is so amazing as I get it all the time. Home made yum sauce is a 10/10 and their steak is pretty good. Hibachi shows are pretty fun. I will say the last time I ate in, I was on a date in the booths; the waitress was rushing us out of there, when there wasn't even a line of people or whatever. Every 2 minutes "how are you doing, you need anything?" maybe let me eat my food? Just thought I'd mention that. But otherwise when I'm sitting at the grill or ordering out this place is on point.
