    Half-Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie
    Sara B.

My second visit was not as great as my first, but my food was still good. I ordered the pretzel crusted pork chop off the Oktoberfest menu. It was pretty good. It came with pierogis, which I love. They were good. My boyfriend got the Wiener schnitzel and would have liked for it to be more authentically German. Our friend received a completely different sandwich than what she ordered, which was strange but she ate it because she wasn't picky. My boyfriend and I split the chocolate chip cookie again. It is sooooo good!!!!! All around wasn't as good as our first visit but still good.

Little out of the way place. Quite woodsy and appropriate for the location. We went because a gift card was given and we had never been here before. We were greeted as the door by a helpful young man and seated. The dining room was nearly empty , mid week and at noon. A group of golfers at one long table and a couple at another. The bar had a few people but wasn't attached so didn't bother us The spouse went for a cup of chowder with a blackened shrimp salad the blackened shrimp was too salty she said. I went for a Rubin with a cup of French onion , the soup was good but too many croutons,The Rubin was pretty darn tasty but got a bit soggy on the bottom. Nice and lean meat , good cheese , chips were crispy . A couple of iced teas with free refills. We would go again if in the area. $50.21 not counting the tip and not discounting the gift card.

    Seasonal menu

The food was good. We got sandwiches with fries.- Brisket $21 (good but a little dry ) and Reuben $18, which was very good. Good vibe in there. We sat by the bar at one of the high tops.

I had no idea this place was here. A friend recommended it while we were in the area as a lunch spot. It was still Fall and the weather was amazing so we were seated at a table in their amazing ourdoor space. It's so prettty; I felt like I was on vacation. The menu had a lot of really good looking options and we struggled to choose. We started with some wings. They were exceptional--- crunchy, juicy and well sauced. Our friend ended up with a spicy chicken sandwich. I had an open face beef sandwich with gravy and french fries. My husband had a chicken Caesar wrap. Everything was beautiful to look at and delicious. Service was a little slow, but reasonable. The atmosphere made it alright. I hope to get back there soon.

    Lobster and shrimp tacos

Was at a nearby wedding venue and found this little hidden gem They have what looked like a big inside area, a nice bar, and an awesome outside deck. There is a bar outside as well to sit at. We ordered the crab pretzel to start with, and it was huge and tasted amazing! There were some summer specials and we decided to go with them. I got the Maui Shrimp Tacos with Coconut shrimp, mango salsa, poblano slaw, cheddar for $17, I believe. The pieces of coconut shrimp were huge and were so delicious My mom got the lobster tacos, Canadian lobster, gulf shrimp, Mexican street corn slaw, queso fresco, lime for I believe $19. She said they were very delicious. However, only one small piece of lobster would have liked more lobster per taco. Would for sure go back.

We went there for Sunday afternoon. Cute place with lots of cool decorations. The server is very friendly. Food is ok, in my opinion but all of my friends love their food

    Crabby Skillet

My. Gretna Hideaway is a charming bar with ample outdoor and bar seating. I stumbled upon this place as a halfway point for a friend and I to meet for dinner, and I'm more than happy I did. First off, the menu is huge and diverse. A big selection of seafood platters and upscale bar fare, the had a huge selection for most eaters to find something to suit them. Their specials list was surprisingly big too. That's where I chose the crabby skillet from, and if it's still available when you swing by, I highly recommend this dish. A crab cake packed with lump crab, perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops, this dish filled me to a comfortable point leaving enough room to get ice cream down the street. We sat at the bar and the service was quick, attentive, and pleasant. If you're around Mt. Gretna and are looking for a great bite to eat, swing by the Hideaway.

My two friends and I arrived at 5 PM on a Saturday evening and were seated promptly, with attentive service that kept the pace just right throughout the meal. To start, we shared the Brussels sprouts, which were crisped to perfection and elevated by a flavorful green goddess drizzle, herby, creamy, and a great balance to the charred edges of the sprouts. For mains, both of my friends ordered the steak frites, which arrived beautifully seared and accompanied by a bright, zesty chimichurri that cut through the richness of the meat. While the steaks were slightly fatty in some areas, they were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. I opted for the blackened tri-tip with blue cheese sauce, which was a highlight. The meat had a bold, smoky crust and was complemented perfectly by the sharp, creamy sauce. My dish typically comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables, but I substituted the potatoes for extra veggies. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, not an afterthought as they sometimes can be. Altogether, Tony's delivered a reliable and well-prepared meal in a cozy setting, ideal for a relaxed night out with friends.

But I already knew which oysters I wanted to order because I could hear easily from across the room the choices from another table. But within 15 minutes of our seating, they seated a table of eight loud people right next to us while the rest of the 100 seat restaurant was completely empty on a Tuesday. Confused me. I know for sure that I had put on my reservation that this was an anniversary dinner, but I guess that wasn't noted or important to this restaurant. That's OK it's our first visit. First impressions I guess aren't important. Luckily, I had a paper napkin in my purse, and I was able to wad it up and put it in my ears: that helped decrease the noise level. My husband is lucky for him very hard of hearing, and he just can turn down his hearing aids. Our dozen oysters were delicious; and the mignonette was very good. Again raising my hopes. My husband's "Cha Muy Buena" cocktail was tasty for him; alas there were not any interesting vodka martini variations for me and my dirty martinis were barely adequate over the course of the night--slightly soiled maybe. My husband was also happy with his hot lobster roll. For my anniversary dinner I was really looking forward to a nice steak but alas, I was not interested in paying $65 for 6 ounces of Waygu; so I settled for your Belvi bao bun rip-off, which was fine and by the time it came out, I was so hungry I devoured it. And then for dessert: I was so excited to get the cheese course because I saw you had the Humboldt Fog! And I figured you could not mess this up! And my husband loves a good port which he was able to order the Grahams 30 year (but wow? no 40 year ports? hmm) 30 minutes later: I mean, I guess you had to bake the bread to go with the cheese??? I can't imagine what else would take that long. Except again that you have one server for 100 seat restaurant on a Tuesday night and there's 35 people in it. I guess I need to plan my anniversaries on different nights. Or buy better fire suppression for Josephine's because I don't ever wanna give my anniversary up to anybody else again!!!!

The only concern was the whisky ice cube served in the sidecar - easily able to remove it though so no harm done (it was tasty). The apps were good too. The mushroom soup was delicious and get the homemade meatballs! Highly recommend - ask for extra bread to use all of the delicious sauce served with them. The calamari is great as it also has shishito peppers and cherry peppers served with it and the flavor combination of those three are great. The flatbread was also good. Overall, very good food.
